The reflections on the topic of this article have been divided into two parts. The first one has been devoted to changes within regulations concerning higher education, which directly and indirectly are connected with the quality of education. Professional segregation, as a form of gender inequality persists in the labor market. The main issue with this phenomenon is gender inequality payment, with drawbacks in both individual and social evolution. Women’s potential as professionals is not used at its highest level and, thus, the economic and social development is not in the right pace. Also, the additional income generated by equal payment would offer benefits for the society, as well as for its members, through the reduction of poverty rate. As gender bias seems to be the main cause of professional segregation and unequal payment, this paper aims to study the causes and the existent situation at a global level. The comparison between European countries and the US best reflects the differences and causes of gender inequality issues in both education and labor market. Also, the paper sheds light upon unemployment as an indicator of gender equality in the workforce.

Professional competence s are the important issue of human resource management. Nowadays, the awareness of employers grows that the quantity of human capital is not as much important as its quality. This raises specific, high expectations towards the candidates for employees, and indirectly towards schools that educate them. The purpose of this article is to get to know the opinions of entrepreneurs on the degree of preparation of graduates of secondary schools and universities for work and their expectations regarding professional competencies of the employed staff. As an example the machine industry has been selected. The presented empirical material has been collected as a part of a wider project carried out by a team of the Institute of Research and Analysis VIVADE, of which the authors are members.

The basic objective of the work we conducted was to perform comparative analysis and to identify changes, if any, in education in the non-formal system in Poland in years 2006 and 2011, in the area of: percentage of persons making use of education in this system, age of persons being trained, educational institutions, number of hours dedicated to education, and reasons to take up education and fields of education.

This article discusses the issues of increasing the perception of measurements for the creation of corporate value by introducing the concept of superior size, as well as relativization for e.g. evaluation of the benchmark. Consideration is also given to the connection between measurements used for creating added, market and income corporate value. The application section contains surveys carried out on listed companies, leading in the creation and destruction of added value in manufacturing. The findings have helped to assess the medium–term correlation of changes in superior market added value with changes in company capitalization and the economic added value and income value relative to market value.

We are living in a society in which services are characterized by great expansion, mobility and adaptability to market requirements. The purpose of this article is to present the necessity of adapting educational services, namely those in the sphere of higher education, to the labour market and in particular the manner in which the requirements of the labour market are currently well understood and fulfilled by universities. The most accessible and effective way to start the process of correlating students` skills with market requirements is to facilitate internships for students at the employers. This research has been carried out among the students in the fields of economics at the „1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia, following the completion of their last internship (July 2013) and among the economic operators, partners in the completion of internships.

The issue of work-life balance (WLB) refers to the inability to reconcile duties at work with family obligations as both environments put evident pressure on a person. This leads to imbalance which is a source of personal stress and low productivity. Hence, one cannot hide the fact that the effects of this imbalance can be very burdensome in financial and strictly organizational terms and for workers themselves. To study the evolution of the temperature of the stock of coal depending on its storage period, the used method in managing the coal storages is the use of infrared thermography. Infrared thermography allows for the temperatures to be remotely measured (from centimetres to a hundreds of meters) and without direct contact, which is indispensable, for example considering electrical equipment found under tension or in the case of parts or materials with increased temperature or which are inaccessible. The evolution of the measured temperature took into account the following steps: the initiation and appearance of temperature areas, the development phase of the temperature areas and the phase during which the increased temperature cores appear. The evolution of the temperature on steps is presented in data and in graphical mode. After the measurements the entire coal quantity which was analysed was sent to be consumed.

The ability to determine the level of motivation would therefore be very useful in the work of every manager. This paper is an attempt to quantify motivation and evaluate its size, using the concept of entropy. The motivation to take up the subject is a direct link between the stock of spare parts and the system of production capacity. The relationships which exist between the entities, referring to entrepreneurship, constitute a chance for the improvement of the functioning of the enterprise from the executive point of view. The development, which takes place in the area of minimization of stocks using logistics centers, constitutes the source of professional and individual development of people participating in the entrepreneurship process. In the assessment of the entrepreneurship of the entities, the effects of the disturbances may be observed in long, unplanned downtime of the machines and equipment or excessive costs of the maintenance of spare parts stocks. To make this relationship sustainable, it is necessary to search for modern approaches and behavior, which, simultaneously, will allow to reduce the costs of freezing capital and the risk connected with the necessity of possessing them when they are needed. One of solutions of the problem, presented in the paper, is the concept of sharing spare parts stock by a few industrial enterprises using the logistics center, treated as a new entrepreneurial approach, which reflects the process of self-development of the company as well as its employees. The applied concept allows to develop a number of financial and organizational benefits for the users of spare parts, the condition of which is the willingness for cooperation and communication, based on properly adjusted IT system.

In dynamically and unpredictably changing environment becomes creativity a key factor of the success of businesses and organizations because it affects the development of innovation and ingenuity, and consequently the business success and profit. The paper analyses the creativity of employees at work. Primary data collection was conducted through questionnaire survey among employees (mostly managers) working in Prešov region. The research was conducted on a sample of 118 respondents from Prešov district in Slovakia. To evaluate the data and hypotheses was used statistical program STATISTIC using the Pearson correlation coefficient (r).

Rural development and, implicitly, raising the standard of living of the village inhabitants are not possible without modernizing the agricultural production which can be achieved by putting into practice the results of scientific research as well as providing a feedback to common agricultural policies. It is a threat to the existence of future generations. Sustainable management makes it possible to reverse the detrimental tendencies because it aims not only to achieve economic but also ecological and social goals. In order for sustainable management to be used in enterprises, planning, organizing, leading and controlling have to be adjusted to its needs. These functions are the essence of managerial work and they determine the results of the enterprise activity. In the field of sustainable management they adopt the form of sustainable planning, sustainable organizing, sustainable leading and sustainable controlling. Sustainable management used in millions of enterprises all over the world would undoubtedly contribute to the balance of intergenerational needs, being the evidence of wisdom and responsibility of present day managers.

The article provides the results of the practical application of evaluation methodology in the Development of Innovative Systems of Manufacturing and Maintenance 2004-2008 (PW-004) multiyear strategic research programme in the area of technical solutions. Findings from this study indicate the evaluation criteria and methods used at different stages and levels of evaluation – project, thematic area and the entire programme levels. The author indicates the importance of the evaluation process, which contributed to the achievement of the practical results in the programme. However, the author also underlines shortcomings of the methodology and identifies additional elements needed to make the evaluation methodology complex.

In this study it is aimed to point out the interrelationships between emotional intelligence, trust to manager and fear based silence from the point of employees. A sample of 157 health personnel from different professions working in a dental clinic was included to the research. According to findings, there is a positive and significant relationship between employees’ emotional intelligence and their trust to manager. Also the negative insignificant relationship between emotional intelligence and fear based silence and the positive insignificant relationship between employees’ trust to manager and fear based silence were found. At the end of the study suggestions are made to the practitioners and future researchers. A part of this study was presented in 3 rd Multidisciplinary Academic Conference in Prague 2014.

Purpose of this article is to analyze carriers and internship office, within a context of business behaviors among students and graduates. This work encompasses: a definition of academic business, institutional forms of students’ entrepreneurship creation, chosen results of empirical research of professional activity among students and efforts of carrier and internship office at Jan Długosz University (AJD) in Czestochowa. The research was based on a method of personal interview and on analysis of carrier office reports. Afterwards, wide-ranging analysis was conducted, and within a context of this analysis there was a description of operations which strengthened professional activity of students and graduates.

Capital and capital markets are important role in any economy. Therefore in this study the role and impact of macro variables in the Iranian stock market is given in. Since the stock market in any country is one of the most important indicators that highlight the economic situation, as important variables in this market analysis is required. In Iran several years ago by the approval and implementation of principle 44 of the constitution of the country's stock market has altered the essential and most state-owned companies were sold. Thus the results of this work can be used for the principle of privatization. Macroeconomic variables used in this work are: inflation, exchange, volume of liquidity in the private sector and index of industrial production. By analyze of variance method, this experimental study actually examines the oscillation in the stock market as oscillations that exist in these four variables between 2007- 2011. Outcome of this analysis shows that the exchange rate and industrial index have more effect on the stock market than inflation and M1.

Using the online learning platform provides a dynamic training program at substantially reduced costs compared with the conventional systems. They ensure the development of a scalable products, secure online access to thousands of students even for distance learning, offering them the books available online, multimedia support, etc. Outside the curriculum it was developed a flexible verification and scoring system, uploading projects, maintaining a permanent online contact between students on the one side and between students and lecturers on the other side. In the online lessons there may be audio or video links between students and lecturer, when the session administrator believes that certain aspects need to be developed in this way. Ensuring for a convenient program of resources access may allow students to structure better the learning period.

Every manager knows that his subordinates sometimes have good and bad days , and that reasons for such and not another effectiveness are often unknown. Most bosses shrugs his shoulders and pass over this phenomenon on the agenda , because the inner life of a subordinate is anyway largely invisible for the manager. Also, current methods of measurement (effectiveness, efficiency ) focus on measuring competence in relation to a particular employee. However, too strong attachment to the competence assessment of individual employee seems pointless . This is mainly due to the fact that the work of a single employee is not equivalent in time . Its performance is affected by a continued stream of emotions and observations , affecting the overall motivation of the employee. The effectiveness of the employee at any time depends on the combination of these factors caused by the current events at work , including the actions of superiors . In this paper an attempt is made to demonstrate the validity of competence measurement with respect to the team of employees in order to efficiently implement functions of human resource management.

This article is an attempt to identify purposes and expectations of employees and the scope of their implementation by employers. Employees are presented as important stakeholders of each enterprise, along with their purposes and expectations, which are benefits for their contribution to the functioning of these organizations. Theoretical considerations on this stakeholder group were compared with the results of empirical research conducted among employees employed in Lower Silesian enterprises. Results of research have showed that financial expectation as satisfying salaries are main employee’s purpose and they are satisfied in majority of enterprises. Employment security, which means choice of employer with an established market position and stable financial situation is also very important for employees.

In jedem Unternehmen gibt es ein Konfliktpotential. Konflikte im Unternehmen können einen großen Einfluss auf das Unternehmen selbst und die Qualität der Produkte oder Dienstleistungen haben. Das Potential der Konflikte liegt in den Mitarbeitern im Unternehmen selbst und in der Umgebung des Unternehmens. Es gibt verschiedene Arten der Konflikte, die auf sachlichen und emotionalen Ebenen ausgetragen werden. Für Unternehmen ist er förderlich, Strategien, Methoden und Techniken des Umgangs mit Konflikten zu entwickeln und zu implementieren. Bei eskalierten Konflikten empfiehlt es sich, in den Lösungsprozess Mediation sowie Gruppen- und Einzelcoaching zu integrieren, um die Konfliktparteien anzunähern, negative Einstellungen gegenüber Problem und Gegner zu verbessern und vom problemorientierten zum lösungsorientierten Denken zu kommen .

The main objective of this article is to investigate banking business and analyze factors affecting financial stability of economies and changes in these factors over time using regression model with selected statistical indicators in macroeconomic environment with a focus on Slovakia as member of the Euro area. The method of empirical sector and trend analysis, regression analysis and economic modelling are used. The relationships between the dependence of the banking business profitability and macroeconomic growth have been surveyed and quantified using regression model spanning a period of ten years (2001-2010). Multiple regression model (Mod 1) accurately reflected the real development of the banking business sector in Slovakia. Since these sector variables are not dependent on the Slovak historical context, the model can be readily applied to other central European economies to improve the profitability and stability of financial enterprises against crises. There are found selected market factors affecting banking business that informed the analysis, such as effective liquidity management, quality of balance sheets assets, efficient management of interest policy, and increasing of profitability rate from long-term aspect.

The following article is to outline the o pportunities in the near future that can be ensured by the use of mobile video communication technology in processes related to entrepreneurship. It is also an attempt to prove that such a form of communication , not only will complement the range of tools dedicated for modern business , but already has become an important element for the management of many companies and institutions in Poland . It also has a direct impact on the development of entrepreneurship. At the same time publication indicates the direction in which the changes are likely to proceed in the area of organization management , and how the technologies themselves must evolve to meet the expectations of users . The article has also one practical aspect - shows an example of actual implementation of these solutions provided by one of the producers of the video communication technology in Poland .

Tourism centered on pilgrimages to religious sites in Slovakia, the target groups being individuals, family, youth seniors, etc., promotes the spiritual, cultural and educational growth of those who partake of it. But, more importantly, this trade in tourism promotes the regional economy in terms of tourism thereby promoting the growth of the whole country. The objective of this paper is to examine pilgrimage sites, highlight their importance with regards to ecumenical, cultural and economic aspects.

One of the most areas of research in recent years, is decision making methodologies under conflicting multi-objective. Due to this, several techniques have been developed. Among them, Surrogate Worth Trade – Off (SWT) method is interested to solve the multi-objective problem by analysts and researchers. This paper intends to review and application of Surrogate Worth Trade – Off technique. The SWT method is one approach that provides an interference between the decision maker’s preferences and the mathematical models associated with the non-dominated solutions. In the final part of this work a method is proposed in order to use SWT technique with multiple decision –makers.

This article deals with evaluation of agricultural performance on the market through selected indicators. According to the period 2000 – 2011 or 2012, we analyse, how the development trends in agriculture changed. Firstly we analyse the amount of GDP in agriculture, the number of employees, the average salary and competitiveness in foreign markets. Then we analyse the amount of agricultural production according to each region of Slovakia to show, what the effectiveness of each region is.

The paper presents the most important issues concerning competence management in enterprises. It includes tendencies in competence defining and characterizes the competence management process. Particular attention has been drawn in the paper to the competencies of the managerial staff. The assessment of employees’ competence is the most important and essential information for decision-making process of companies. As observations show, despite abundant stock of data and available competency assessment methods, managers receive few useful information needed for human resource management. In this study is proposed to use the informative entropy method, which measures the amount of information contained in particular competencies. The described method can be used for assessment of the competency resources possessed at the level of staff team. This method mainly allows to determine distribution of competence in the structure of the group, assess adjustment of real resource to needs, and to locate competency deficits.

This paper identifies the present possibilities for a Romanian economic professional (accountant, auditor) to pursue a career in the European Space, it also presents the potential possibilities to follow in view of the amended Directive. Through a multi-criterial analysis we presented a multi-faceted situation that today takes place in all the EU states not only in Romania. Hence we identified the need for a common framework for all the professional from EU states from the economic liberal professions, in order to have a proper regulated labour market all across the EU respecting one of the fundamentals of the EU Treaty: freedom to work in in each and every state member.

The present article aims to design and develop a qualitative methodology using fuzzy logic in order to be a real tool for the managerial decisional factor in solving the multicriteria decisional problems related to the proper selection of the personnel and to the achievement of excellence in this field within a company. In our days, the economical environment characterized by globalization and by a continuous change, offers many times to the decisional factors some situations which are surrounded by uncertainty and ambiguity, fact that in its turn leads to a subjectivism of their reasoning, which is in fact a feature of the abstract thinking of human being itself. This aspects are manifesting also in the field of personnel selection, where the evaluations related to this process are often subjectives, materialized through qualitative linguistic values. In this context, using the proposed fuzzy methodology, embedded in a fuzzy software tool developed in the Java programming language, can offer significantly opportunities and chances to achieve the excellence in this field of research, because the future and performance of any organization depend by the human resources that are working within it.

The rough set theory, which originated in the early 1980s, provides an alternative approach to the fuzzy set theory, when dealing with uncertainty, vagueness or inconsistence often encountered in real-world situations. The fundamental premise of the rough set theory is that every object of the universe is associated with some information, which is frequently imprecise and insufficient to distinguish among objects. In the rough set theory, this information about objects is represented by an information system (decision table). From an information system many useful facts and decision rules can be extracted, which is referred as knowledge discovery, and it is successfully applied in many fields including data mining, artificial intelligence learning or financial investment. The aim of the article is to show how hidden knowledge in the real-world data can be discovered within the rough set theory framework. After a brief preview of the rough set theory’s basic concepts, knowledge discovery is demonstrated on an example of baby car seats evaluation. For a decision rule extraction, the procedure of Ziarko and Shan is used.

Management processes play the key role in providing for health and safe conditions of work and managers play the most important role in counteracting accidents at work. This article discusses some basic problems related to inappropriate organisation of work as a cause of accidents in the overall national economy, in the Industrial Processing section, and in the particular processing departments in years 2006-2011. It was found out that inappropriate organisation of work was an especially significant cause in case of serious and fatal accidents. In many departments of Industrial Processing section, it was even pointed out twice more often, as a reason for serious and fatal accidents, than total accidents.

The article discusses the issue of the obligation on municipalities to provide temporary living quarters (temporary residential premises) to people who have not been granted the right to social housing or substitute accommodation by the court. This obligation, implemented as part of the municipality’s own task, has been characterised by a broad outline of its legal background and a practical presentation of the problems of managing municipal property resources. The book “Persuasion Elements Used in Logistical Negotiation: Persuasive Logistical Negotiation” (Saarbrucken, LAP Lambert, 2012), by Ioan Constantin Dima, Ştefan Vlăduţescu, is an scientific events. The study is interdisciplinary and lays at the intersection of persuasive communication with the negotiation of logistic type. The research that has been made so far considers negotiation as a rational act, either as a principled act (Roger Fisher, William Ury and Bruce Patton speak of "the method of principled negotiation") or as a conditioned act (Gavin Kennedy sees negotiation as based on "if-then") or as a rational activity (M. H. Bazerman and M. A. Neale militate for" negotiating rationally"). The interesting and well proofed thesis of the book is that logistical negotiation is prevalent persuasive. "Negotiation" is not a strictly rational approach and implemented inferentially. It always involves an emotional component and a major dose of persuasion. Therefore, any "negotiation" and, particularly, logistic negotiation reveals a persuasion feature. To argue-prove the thesis arguments of authority are used, acknowledged examples and an experiment on 20 subjects in the logistics field, on which the "low ball" ("low balling") technique-stratagem is tested. In relation to the concept of persuasion (substantiated by Ştefan Vlăduţescu, in "Negative Journalistic Communication" published in 2006 by the Romanian Academy) as a mechanism with four operations (seduction, fiction, myth, and lies), the book conclude that the logistic operator seduces, captures, delights, fascinates, designs fiction, exploits emotional attachment, lies, deceives, cheats, deceives. In other words, it follows that in logistic negotiating persuasive communication prevails. We conclude that the book present high relevance in the space of logistics, of negotiation, and of logistical negotiation

The greenhouse gas emissions from transport have registered a severe increase over the years about 23% of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions resulted from burning fossil fuels worldwide. In this context, it is observed the increasing need to shift to sustainable transport patterns for taking into consideration a wide-scale use of alternative energy sources (e.g. bio-fuels, biogas) and also, the investments in environmental technologies research and development etc. Romania has a national transport system situated on average level in terms of conventional standards of Europe's transport system. But, it was noted that the infrastructure of roads, railways, maritime and air transport is vulnerable in terms of extreme weather conditions. Considering the indirect effects of climate change, they are manifested by deteriorating road and rail infrastructure. The paper presents some of the measures adapted by Romania to reduce the greenhouse emissions produced by the transport sector. The adaptation of the Romanian transport sector to climate change impacts should take into account the use of technologies by focusing on increased safety standards, and ensuring continuity of services. In order to implement these measures it is increased the need to invest into designing vehicles that can withstand the adverse effects of climate change. The new transport infrastructure and means of transport should be designed, beginning with the design phase, in order to be resilient to the effects of the climate change.

Knowledge and processes of knowledge management in enterprises today are of essential importance to their existence. Because of the challenges of virtualization of the economic processes that include virtualization of labour space, knowledge management, with particular focus on tacit knowledge, should be considered with particular care. The aim of the present study is to present the essence of knowledge personalization in the aspect of virtual labour space. The study provides characterization of the concept of knowledge personalization. The virtual elements of labour space were presented. The focus was on selected activities to support knowledge personalization in virtual labour space and presents a holistic approach to managing tacit knowledge in virtual labour space.

Crisis management is a very important part of public safety. Its history has been changing over the last ten years, starting from the political changes, through various changes of its structural services, to the challenges have been put by all atmospheric phenomena in recent years. These changes caused that all services, after the years of theoretical discusses over the strategic documents, must be proceeded to implement them in practice. Today, in general, we can say that having a wealth of practical experience, it is possible to undertake the evaluation of the effectiveness in this area of public policy. The purpose of this paper is an attempt to assess the logistics support as key element of crisis management systems. Based on the assessment, becomes possible run the actions in purpose to evaluate the system. Irrelevant is here to judge the services from the subjective and political point of view only, but first of all, consider the implementation of an effective assessment model, which allows to approach to this such very important problem in the most objective way.

Globalization is measured by the number of countries where companies have subsidiaries. Being present on different markets, owning manufacturing capabilities in countries with inexpensive labor force or ensuring the direct supply of raw materials are decisions made by all companies which consider the expansion and the power of their business. The goal of this article is to discuss about choosing the best alternative for expansion if governance mechanisms are considered. Two alternatives exist: one is to expand by acquisition; the other is to enter another country through partnerships. Considering simple corporate governance, both alternatives contain supplementary elements, creating in this manner more complex environments. Multinational Companies (MNCs) add to the simple - domestic corporate governance the next elements: multi-national governance systems characteristics and forms of expansion, but also local business cultures. Supply chain governance contains the elements presented for MNCs, while other should be considered: forms of collaboration, partner’s power within the relation. Both these complex governance forms are further presented. The main conclusion is that MNCs governance practices can be borrowed for supply chain governance. Some authors consider that supply chains are forms of outsourcing and so avoiding corporate governance.

The study of International Relation (IR) can be traced back to the 17th century, since then IR has been dominated by informal trans-governmental and trans-national relations between counties. This paper defines an International Policy Framework in light of theories such as New Institutional Economics and Spatial Economics, whereby economies can enhance their export income and societal benefits. States can facilitate growing their economic pie; expanding access to wealth. Concurrently they can increase their tax base and enhance their ability to deliver quality public services. After establishing a general understanding of the macroeconomic activities within an economy, the theory of comparative advantage has been defined to validate sector-specific openness whereby trading partners can benefit mutually. Finally an Input/Output model is used to evaluate the economic activities and a general framework is established defining key steps for identifying and implementing successful IRs.

World economy is continuously driven by changes that influenced also small and medium sized enterprises management. These business types represent the vast majority of economy all over the world and simultaneously, are the fundamental driving force for European Union economy. The current business trend is to be focused on planning and monitoring so called process management. The systematic approach is to make an organization’s workflow more effective, more efficient and more capable of adapting to a variable and unstable environment. The aim of the paper is to analytically describe process management in practice of small and medium sized enterprises in South Bohemia region in the Czech Republic within various business sectors. On the examined sample was performed quantitative-qualitative research funded by grant project GAJU 068/2010/S. The obtained data were statistically analysed within core business sectors. Furthermore, based on results were suggested certain advices for more effective process management.

Furthermore, this study seeks to assess whether they are aware about sustainability dimensions or whether they use sustainability reporting simply as a tool for good reputation and marketing. Therefore, a scoring model was developed to assess the sustainability reports from all companies of the WIG 20 and mWIG 40.

The article raises the subject of the functioning of workers’ representatives of municipal companies in supervising bodies of these companies i.e. supervisory boards. Pursuant to the analysis of the regulations of the code of trading companies and regulations which normalise the functioning of local government and municipal economy of the units of local government, the article presents an institution of the board of supervisors, the creation of these authorities, their competence and methods of realising supervisory tasks, emphasising the peculiarities which distinguish supervisory boards of communal companies in comparison with supervisory boards of companies without the participation of local government units. It also discusses practical consequences of the existing legal status in the field of participation of municipal companies’ employees in their supervisory boards on the basis of the study carried out in one-man companies of a local government unit. The author’s conclusions about the participation of municipal company workers in supervisory boards indicate a necessity to explicitly and homogeneously regulate this issue with regard to all the communal companies.
