This article presents time analysis of performance of Windows 10 and Windows 8.1. Presented research was mainly focused on performance comparison of mobile device system elements which are relevant from end user point of view like main processor, RAM and mass storage throughput, image generation speed by the graphics processor and access time to devices. In order to measure the performance of the above elements a mobile benchmark application was created. The hypotheses set in the article have been verified and partially confirmed.

Comparison of efficiency is not a trivial phenomenon because of disparities between different database systems. This paper presents a methodology of comparing relational database systems in respect of mean time of execution individual DML queries containing subqueries and conjunction of tables. The presented methodology can be additionally accommodated to studies of efficiency in a range of database system itself (study of queries executed directly in database engine). The described methodology allows to receive statement telling which database system is better in comparison to another in dependency of functionalities fulfilled by external application. In the article the analysis of mean time of execution individual DML queries was performed.Two research hypotheses have been put forward: "Microsoft SQL Server database system needs less time to execute INSERT and UPDATE queries than Oracle database" and "Oracle database system needs less time to execute DML queries with binary data than SQL Server".

The paper describes results of the possibility analysis of environmental monitoring and detection threats with the Arduino platform. Sensors compatible with Arduino enabling environmental monitoring were used to conduct research. The article compares two modern integration platforms used in production and test environments. These are, a free integrity solution WSO2 data bus and OSB bus, called Oracle Service Bus, which is a commercial software. The tests that were carried out on the abovementioned buses and results were discussed. In addition, a comparison of results with conclusions that were drawn after the tests was attached.

Automation tests are used for verification of functionality of developing applications. The performance of automation tests written in HP UFT and Selenium WebDriver was compared. There were created 3 tests for both technologies that were executing the same tasks. The aim of this paper is verification of possibilities of Laravel PHP framework. An overview of literature is presented, which shows Laravel as a research tool in various scientific fields and compares it with other PHP language tools. The project of a test application was presented, which is a database of music albums with three datasets - one, two and five thousand albums. Laravel's Zend Framework and Symfony performance survey was based on, among other things, database loading time, database searches, and the time to generate a single album view with relationships. Summary of the information contained in the paper states that Laravel is an easy-to-use tool, with a number of app creation aids, but with performance outweighed by the frameworks compared to it, the most efficient of which is Zend Framework.

This article deals with the comparison of two technologies for manipulating 3D objects in terms of ease of use, ergonomics and intuitiveness. The comparison was based on the results obtained from the outcome of test tasks and questionnaires performed on the group of 15 people. Detailed research and test scenarios and additional questionnaires have been made. Each of the respondents had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the device by performing three tests in two test scenarios (one per device).

This article compares two open source platforms supports e-commerce, such as: Wordpress with Woocommerce plugin and Magento Community Edition. The paper shows pros and cons of both systems. The main functionalities of them were tested and showed. The article presents the use of .NET Core in web applications development. The analysis covers tests performed on a test application based on the .NET Core framework. The following benchmarking criteria were selected for the framework analysis: pattern search in text, counting parsing time, rendering operations on graphical files, adding files to archives, CRUD operation speed. These criteria were compared on two different operating systems - Windows, Linux. Additionally, the paper presents results obtained after the tests and their analysis. The hypothesis that tests will be executed faster on Windows than on Linux has only been partially confirmed.

The goal of this article was to perform analysis of usability possibilities of frontend framework AngularJS compared to native programming language JavaScript, on which it is based on. Several framework funcionalities were chosen and set together with self implemented solutions in JavaScript. Comparison was made according to specified criteria: usage simplicity, possibilities of utilization and reusability. Created scripts confirm accepted assumptions, that in JavaScript it is possible to write simplified and reusable implementations of useful mechanisms, which are present in AngularJS.

The aim of the article is to compare three programs for the optical text recognition. The problem of the optical text recognition has been defined. Next, briefly the functionality of this technology was described. The most important programs realizing the discussed problem were also characterized. The correctness of characters and words recognition in the analyzed text was also specified.

The paper contains comparison between Angular and BackboneJS frameworks. For research purposes, two single page applications were created. Both providing the same functionalities. In this article such elements were examined and compared: time of loading elements, number lines of code, size of compiled application. community gathered around frameworks and time needed to create the application using frameworks. The obtained results did not indicate a solution that was clearly better to be used in single page applications.

Artificial neural networks are one of the tools of modern text recognising systems from images, including handwritten ones. The article presents the results of a computational experiment aimed at analyzing the quality of recognition of handwritten digits by two artificial neural networks (ANNs) with different architecture and parameters. The correctness indicator was used as the basic criterion for the quality of character recognition. In addition, the number of neurons and their layers and the ANNs learning time were analyzed. The Python language and the TensorFlow library were used to create the ANNs, and software for their learning and testing. Both ANNs were learned and tested using the same big sets of images of handwritten characters.

The paper presents the process of creating two application using two different methods of programming. One of them is simple PHP application based on data stored in a relational MySQL database and a application of the same functionality implemented on the Magento 1.9 platform. The main purpose of the paper is to test applications and verify them of the extent to which functionality is fault-tolerant. It means that tests will be the - individuals function and their resistance to errors. The obtained results allow the authors to evaluate which kind of programming is the best and improve clean code and it’s quality.

The purpose of this article is to present the eye-tracking method in the context of evaluation of responsive web application dedicated to manage students practices. To determine usability of the application the eye-tracking method has been chosen due to its high objectivity. Using this method one can unequivocally determine the user gaze direction, which interface elements enchained his attention and which ones were completely skipped. As part of the work were prepared scenarios with tasks for the research participants, questionnaires and time of the tasks execution where measured. Collected data were presented as heat maps and scanpaths. The paper covers also actual review of bibliography of the eye-tracking area and detailed description of the eye-tracking method. What is more the paper gives description of test subject, conducted test and discusses results.

This article discusses authentication methods for users of mobile devices with touchscreens. The analysis concerns the authentication methods already existing in Android OS and new authorization methods proposed by the authors. The paper presents the analysis of the human heartbeat value under the physical exercise and rest condition. The test group was divided into four groups regarding age and sex. Measurements were performed using a mobile application and a blood pressure monitor. The phone's accuracy with respect to the blood pressure gauge was measured and the statistical significance of differences between age groups, sex and activity was also computed. Measurement inaccuracy varies from 4 to 12%. The mobile application accurately reproduces the pulse during rest.

This paper is focused on comparison of interface quality of mobile access to the services of selected banks. The arcticle describes preparation of architectural visualization of the virtual museum. It purpose was to explore possibilities of using VR glasses, 3D scans and design aplications. During the study VR glasses showed great opportunities in the field of architectural visualisation. The results of the performance tests confirmed potencial in 3D scans and models from design applications, although they require mesh prcoessing and simplification. However, the tests showed insufficient performance of tested smartphone’s GPU, which shows that market needs to advance in this direction. This would make it possible to create better VR applications.

In agile methods, one of the techniques for improving code quality is refactoring. This is a process that employs a number of techniques, modifying the code without changing its functionality, aiming to improve its transparency and reduce vulnerability. You can measure the improvement of the code using different code quality metrics. The paper presents an analysis of the effect of refactoring on static code quality on the example of the open-source project Scuba. The quality of the code was measured at two different points of software development - right before and after refactoring the code. The three most popular sets of object code quality metrics and the Sonarqube tool were used for the measurement. The research clearly demonstrates the significant improvement of static code quality as a result of refactoring.

Beacon is a device, that broadcasts its identifier via Bluetooth Low Energy signal to nearby mobile devices, like smartphones or tablets. A special application installed on user’s device serves additional functionalities, that improves general user experience. This technology allows companies to develop advanced systems, that can enhance and support advertising campaigns of products and services. In this paper there is a description of the prototype of the system supporting selling special strategy for a large retail store. This strategy, called webrooming, is based on the assumption, that user is choosing the products via special webpage, and afterwards collects the order on-site, at the store. The mobile part of the system is supporting the user in creating shopping lists, showing the nearest products during shopping trip and by path optimization based on mobile agents’ signal. The impact of distance and Wi-Fi network on operation of application was tested.
