In the paper a methodology for making optimum tactical-technical requirements is suggested for the modification of existing tanks. The tank, as a system is described by three main characteristics: FIREPOWER, PROTECTION AND MOBILITY. Each characteristic is defined by a determined number of parameters-criteria which described this complex system. For all characteristics, a corresponding weight coefficient is estimated and given to a chosen parameter in accordance with the importance of this parameter for the system. In order to compare the established tactical-technical requirements for the modified tanks with the realized characteristics of modern tanks, the ICOR (Iterative Compromise Ranking) method of optimization is used.

This paper presents a test equipment monitoring software solution for metrological support in the Technical proving center of the Army of Serbia and Montenegro. The software provides input and saving of all relevant data concerning measuring instruments, quick generation of different kinds of required reports and verification and maintenance plans as wall as maintenance history. The software includes a database designed on the 'Paradox' platform and software procedures for data processing coded on the 'Delphi' software platform.

This study shows a method for determining the shear strength (adhesion strength) of the double base propellant-inhibitor bond on laterally and frontally inhibited grains. Shear strength is determined on several laterally and frontally inhibited grains. The influence of inhibitor composition on the bond nature and strength is described.

This paper presents a mathematical model of analyzing the effects which noise and tracking errors have made during measurements of a target position while determining its coordinates. Here is also presented a procedure for computing errors in measuring a target position in the space comprised by measurements as well as for computing errors in predetermined directions of aerial targets movement. This approach has en extensive application in increasing hit probability of fire control systems, in improving the quality of target tracking system testing, and in the optimization of allocating antiaircraft defense systems.

This paper considers the problem of optimizing the mass of HE projectile fragments. It is shown that the optimum fragment mass is a function of its kinetic characteristics at the target and an adopted efficiency criterion. Computations show that the most prominent criteria, minimum required kinetic energy and minimum kinetic energy per unit of cross--sectional area, are incompatible - i. e. they provide significantly different values of the optimum mass. It is concluded that the criterion of specific kinetic energy corresponds to a lower optimum fragment mass, which indicates the importance of fragments of low masses from the aspect of efficiency. The theoretically determined optimum fragment mass represents a very significant parameter for design optimization of fragmentation projectiles, but experimental verification of obtained results is essentially important as well.

Maintainability is an inherent characteristic of a device and comprises activities undertaken during the device development with the aim to achieve efficient maintenance during its utilization. The viability of maintainability during the device development is verified by the realization of the maintainability plan and programme. An integral part of that programme is the demonstration and verification of maintainability. The demonstration and verification of maintainability is done by applying particular methods. A survey of statistical methods for the demonstration and verification of maintainability of a device is given in the work.

In this paper the systems of classic passive radar detection of radar targets are analyzed and the requests of superposition of two very close radar targets are defined. Also, there are analyzed reference methods of superposition based on the angle determination of incoming electromagnetic waves by waves sampling and determination of signal power spectrum as a function of space frequency in the presence of angular noise (clutter). By sampling a number of footprints of signals and by the estimation of the space frequency and the co variation matrix of received useful signals and noise, it is possible to repeat accurately necessary information about the resolution of two close targets at the sensor of the antiradar missile homing head. After comparing required and gained parameters: accuracy of direction standard deviation of direction, accuracy of separation of two sources and probability of reliable separation, it is recommended in the paper to use a modified method of maximum entropy, as the best method for the separation of two angular very close targets that are seen by the homing head of the antiradar missile.

Acetone vapors influence on the double base propellant mechanical properties and the burning rate is shown and analyzed. Mechanical investigations were done with uniaxial tensile and impact tests. Burning rate investigations were carried out in the manometric bomb and rocket motors. The obtained results of the investigations show a significant acetone vapors influence on mechanical properties without a significant influence on the burning rate.

Intensive research for decreasing fuel consumption of 1C engines is due wainly to ecologycal reasons. The problem can be solved by applying numerous diferent design solutions, among them methods for friction decrease. In order to achieve any success in that field it is necessary to be familiar with tribological features of a complete engine and its individual parts and assemblies. The main influence on 1C engine friction losses comes from the piston group, the cranckshaft bearings, the timing system and the lubrication system. Tribological characteristics have to be determined in the first stage of 1C engine design, because this is the only way to give full contribution to the decreasing of fuel consumption and exhaust emission.

This paper analyses how spare parts supply at particular levels of supply in a multilevel system affects the correctness of technical systems. In this case, the system of maintenance is also considered to be multilevel. In order to quantify this influence to a certain extent, it was necessary to specify the system. The effects of spare parts supply on the correctness of technical systems are considered with respect to the system structure, the information system and the particular levels. The results, being very detailed, are given here only as illustrations.

Results in all-round competitions (military all-round games, physical exams for the Serbia and Montenegro Army members, decathlon, pentathlon, paraski biathlon.) are calculated using more complex principles than in competitions where competitors take part just in one discipline. Existing solutions to that problem do not answer to all users' needs. The Web application, presented here, is primarily designed for military all-round competitions support, and allows the results input from various locations the effective input of large amounts of data, the distribution of temporary and final results over the Internet and the quick generation of bulletin.

One of demands for modern designed 1C engines is low fuel and lubricant consumption because of reasons concerning ecology as well as energy and economy. The symptom is that conventional 1C engines will be the first choice as a power source for numerous applications in the future. Therefore many changes and improvements in design need to be done for further decrease of fuel consumption followed by the decrease of exhaust emission. First of all, there is the optimization of the working cycle, the application of variable compression, the application of variable valve control, better couplina with gas machines, etc. Significant potential for efficiency improvement of 1C engines is in reducing mechanical losses. Mechanical losses in 1C engines are caused mostly by friction between the mobile parts of the engine (piston-cylinder assembly). Therefore, continual attention to the research process of studying friction problems would be necessary.

The investigation included studies of catalytic activities of ballistic modificators and the process of burning of double base propellants. Burning of solid rocket propellants in one of the most complex types of burning. As it is known, any kind of burning is presented by chemical reactions and therefore chemical kinetics should play the basic role in the theory of burning. But, in rocket motors, burning is often complex and its character is change enable. The laws of chemical kinetics, therefore yield before the laws of thermal conduction and gas-dynamics.
