Maha e-Seva project is implemented in urban as well as in rural areas under the Revenue Department as a Mission Mode Project of National e-Governance Plan to provide the government services more efficiently to the citizens. So there is a need to assess the efficiency of the implemented project in terms of citizen’s satisfaction and service quality. Perception of citizens regarding service quality of Common Service Centers operating in rural areas is assessed by using SERVQUAL Model. The purpose of the paper is to examine the financial factors determining dividend policy of companies selected under the study. Dividend policy is represented by individually or collectively of dividend per share, dividend yield and dividend payout ratio. The present study’s dividend policy is represented by dividend payout ratio only. Sample companies of the study are listed on BSE in India and the same sample companies are also the part of the constituent companies of BSE sensex. The study has used the data such as DPR, EBIT, total assets, total debt, shareholders equity, retaining earnings, current assets, current liabilities, and profit after tax of 15 companies for the period from 2007/08 to 2016/17 to obtain various ratios such as dividend payout ratio, profitability ratio, growth of the firm ratio, debt-equity ratio, investment opportunity ratio, liquidity ratio and firmsize ratio. These ratios of all selected companies are put in the form of pooled data and are analyzed with the help of pooled OLS model. The results of the study are that except profitability ratio, all other ratios used as independent variables in study are not statistically significant. Hence, profitability ratio is the only ratio among the selected ratios is the determinant of dividend policy of companies selected under study.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) are key contributors to wealth creation and economic development of a country. Yet measuring their performance has been a challenge for researchers, data collectors and the policy makers. Non availability of structured historical data, virtual absence of regulatory filing, widespread under reporting of financial performance to avoid taxes and thick veil of secrecy on every bit of their information is a global phenomenon with MSME. Past research has experimented with various objective and subjective measures of organizational performance some of which were necessitated by non availability of accounting data. The present qualitative study, apart from putting MSME’s contribution to the economic growth and corporate tax avoidance in perspective, deals with social and cultural mindset of small entrepreneurs in India. Multiple lines of enquiry like subjective indicators of performance measurement, non-intrusive techniques for on the spot assessment and cross verification with data available in the public domain were used to validate the findings. Study intends to meet the growing need for alternate tools and techniques to measure MSME performance. Further research in developing a comprehensive rubric of subjective measures for organizational performance is suggested.

E-Commerce is expected to boom in Asia. The number of online buyers in Asia Pacific is forecasted to cross the one billion marks for the first time in 2018, which will account for approximately 60 percent of all users in the region. India, among the fastest growing Asian market shows a very encouraging projection of the e-commerce industry. E-Commerce penetration at the moment in India stands only at 28 percent, with a lot of room for growth. India’s retail e-commerce CAGR is projected to grow at 23 percent between 2016 to 2021. As per an ASSOCHAM-Resurgent joint study, online shopping is expected to clock annualised growth of 115 percent this year, aided by fast-increasing data consumption and improvement in logistics, along with a number of offers presented by e-commerce platforms. Competition in the online marketplace is heating up as all major e-commerce players are eyeing a larger share of the online market; competition has only intensified with the likes of Amazon and Walmart with huge cash coffers burning a lot of cash to attract consumers. Local players like Snapdeal, Jabong, Myntra, Shopclues, Grofers and the like trying to woo the customers with unique product and service deals. In this kind of scenario, e-commerce players with the best service quality have higher chances of becoming the most preferred shopping destination for consumers. To get better insights of E-Service Quality and its effect on consumer purchase intentions, this study was undertaken for Snapdeal. In this study the SERVQUAL model was modified considering the online shopping context. Five dimensions considered to assess the service quality were website design, reliability, responsiveness, personalization and trust. Factor Analysis was used for data reduction and a 7 point likert scale was used to measure customer expectations and perceptions with respect to various dimensions of e-service quality of Snapdeal. Data was collected from 300 respondents selected on the basis of non-probability convenience sampling. Factor Analysis results indicated that consumers rated Snapdeal high on website design, reliability, responsiveness and personalization, trust was a factor that snapdeal has scope of improvement.

The aim of this research was to identify the efficacy of lecture cum demonstration on the knowledge and skills of the nursing students regarding cranial nerve assessment. The pre-experimental research design approach was considered appropriate for conducting this study. About 200 nursing students getting education in hand-picked nursing colleges of Lucknow were considered appropriate for this study. The relevant fact was gathered using self-prepared multiple choice knowledge questionnaires and an observation check list to assess the clinical expertise of the students. Introduction: The objective of the study was to find the levels of work life balance of f & b service captains working in five star hotels of Delhi, India. The captain is a supervisor in food service department and is responsible to ensure quality of service and guest satisfaction with the help of a team of waiting staff and under the guidance of manager. As the work characteristics in food service outlets are challenging and always create issues like stress, overwork and work life imbalance. This paper focus on the aspect of work life balance issue of captains working in different food service outlets within five star hotels of Delhi. Materials and Methods: To measure the levels of work life balance author had devised a questionnaire measuring four dimensions identified in explorative study, namely quality time, involvement, satisfaction and health. Cronbach alpha values were found to be 0.082 and the data collected was analyzed through SPSS software; statistical tests ANOVA, Tukey HSD, t test were applied to draw conclusions. Result: As per analysis of data it was found that work life balance of captains in f & b service department of five star hotels of Delhi is not satisfactory, and the results were similar for captains working in different types of food service outlets. Conclusion: The study conclude that captains working in different food service outlets in five star hotels of Delhi, India do not have satisfactory work life balance, also it was noted that work life balance were same irrespective of the gender, it was found that captains in the age group of 25-30 years have a marginally higher levels of work life balance in the total but not above satisfactory levels. The main reasons were identified as break shifts, stretched working hours and lower compensation.

This paper explores the job satisfaction level of contract faculty, serving in government and private institutions functioning near the border area of Gurdaspur district in Punjab, India. It also focuses on the problem and exploitation which are faced by contractual faculty due to the policies adopted by the management of these engineering institutions during their career. Approximately 700 questionnaires were distributed personally for survey and through emails. Information was collected through a study of 150 faculty members of educational institutes, serving in seven governments and self-financed colleges and private universities functioning near the perimeter area of Gurdaspur. The outcomes show that there is an immediate relationship between parameters like professional development and job satisfaction. The study presumes that by giving the best workplace, the educational institutes can build the level of job satisfaction of their faculty. Analytical results of the study have been verified with the help of SPSS-16 software.

It is noticed that numerous studies have been undertaken on vocational interest as an independent variable but despite being so important factor in the world of work, it has been explored nominal as to what extent cognitive and non-cognitive factors contribute in the development of interest in one Vocation more than the other. The present study aims to investigate the contribution of some of the important psychological traits in the prediction and development of vocational interests. 272 students of Xth standard from randomly selected 8 schools managed under defense sectors in three states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and A.P. were taken for the study. Data were collected using standardized tools. Multiple correlation and Regressions were used for the analysis. The result showed that composite contribution of personality traits, Self-concept, Achievement motivation and Academic Achievements ranged from 9.07% to 28.42% in the prediction of vocational interests. Researchers at the university of British Columbia and the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business found that impulse spending is a behavior associated with disorganized environments. Impulsive buying disrupts the normal decision making models in consumer brains. All the four demographic factors significantly influence impulsive buying behavior. However among the demographic factors that influence the impulsive buying, gender is the most reliable determinant of impulse buying as compared to other three.

GST is a value-based indirect tax which levied on the value added by the supplier. GST has been introduced in more than 160 countries and France was the first to introduce in 1954. In India GST is implemented from 1st July 2017 with motto of “one nation, one market and one tax”. In Indian taxation history, the introduction of GST brought the revolutionary changes which subsumed all the multiple indirect taxes under a single umbrella. The purpose of present study is to investigate the perceptions of traders and manufacturers towards GST, their satisfaction level from GST’s implementation and significant differences between their perceptions and satisfaction. This study has conducted particularly in three regions i.e. Rohtak, Gurgaon and Faridabad of Haryana state and total 200 respondents were selected on the random sampling basis and t-test was used. The results of the study conclude that 73% of respondents are satisfied from GST’s implementation. This study suggests for successful implementation of GST, government should organize the awareness and training programs to increase the GST knowledge, reduce the technical error of GSTN, expand the digital infrastructure, properly check whether the benefits of reduced cascading effect is passing to end customer or not and reduce the return filing formalities.

This study aims to measure such favourableness or unfavourableness by analysing four significant dimensions of workplace namely work environment, compensation and rewards, opportunities for career growth and development and work life balance of IT professionals in Taramani - The IT corridor of Chennai. The population of the study consists of 7 million units (as per CEO World Magazine Survey in 2016) among which the researcher chose 30000 units from two IT parks namely Tidal park and Ascendas for the study. The researcher had adopted a representative random sampling method by which 210 units that adequately replicates the larger population were studied to analyse the quality of work life of IT professionals in Taramani, Chennai. The researcher had used structured questionnaire with five-point scale to record the responses.

Banking sector in India have witnessed a tremendous growth in terms of their volume of business in the recent past and contributed significantly for the growth story of Indian economy. As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), India’s banking sector is sufficiently capitalized and well-regulated. Credit, market and liquidity risk studies suggest that Indian banks are generally resilient and have withstood the global downturn well. Hence, an attempt has been made in this paper to understand the performance delivered by the banking sector stocks and the volatility associated with that performance during the study period. For this purpose, the daily price behavior of the selected banking stocks was considered and to understand the volatility, GARCH family model was applied. Data were collected for the period from January 2008 to June 2018, when the market has witnessed both the prolonged bear and bull phase. It was found that private sector stocks have delivered higher returns than the public sector banks and they have witnessed more volatility during the study period.

Best strategy will be to cover all areas like reducing idling time, better truck driving, faster product movement, quality deliveries in terms of reliability and of course reduction in exhaust gases harmful for environment. Introduction: The objective of the study was to measure and compare the levels of work life balance of operational staff of the four main departments of five star hotels in Delhi. To analyze the levels of work life balance and compare whether there were a significant differences in the levels of work life balance of operating staff from different operational department of five star hotels of Delhi. Materials and Methods: The study is based on the data collected from 121 employees of five star hotels of Delhi, who work in four operational departments of hotels. The data was collected with the help of self-administered questionnaire and analyzed through SPSS software. Result: Analysis of data proved that there was a significant difference in the levels of work life balance experienced by operational staff of five star hotels, highest level of work life balance was experienced by staff of front office and lowest for the of food production department. The result followed a similar pattern for the four dimension of work life balance namely quality time, involvement, satisfaction and health. Conclusion: There was no equality in the levels of work life balance of operating staff of five star hotels, the levels of work life balance was differential among departments, it was highest for the staff working in front office department and then a gradual decrease was noted with each subsequent department namely housekeeping, food service and food production. The differences could be due to factors like shift timings, break shifts etc.

Purpose: To analyze the portrayal of women in the advertisements and how respondents of different age react differently towards positive portrayal vs. Nudity in television advertisements. Design/Methodology/Approach: The sample size of 1210 was taken for the study. The factors affecting attitudes of respondents below the age of 40 and above the age of 40 were found with the help of factor analysis and respondents were classified and distinguished with the help of cluster analysis and discriminant analysis. Findings: Women in advertisements have been represented in illicit portrayal. She has not been shown in roles which represent her status and power. Men in commercials have been shown in roles superior to women. This leads to the lack of confidence among women. Major factors affecting attitude of people towards positive portrayal of women vs. nudity in advertisements were found out and listed as “Models over Products”, “Feeling of Inferiority”, “opposite attracts” etc. The respondents were classified as “Indifferent” and “Leveraged”. These respondents were also differentiated using discriminant analysis. The study reveals the attitudes of the respondents on the basis of age towards the positive portrayal vs. Nudity in television advertisements and how women have been suffered due to the sensuous portrayal in the advertisements.

Roads and highway sector projects in India are affected with enormous delays. Over the last decade, as a result of paradigm shift in the volume and capacity of the road construction sector, it is very important to systematically analyze the factors of delays and to build up a concise understanding amongst the roads and highways professionals. Adopting a comprehensive project stakeholders analysis namely client, consultant and contractor, the research identified the important factors affecting the delays in Indian roads and highway construction industry and then establishing the association between factors to develop the prediction models to assess the impact of these delay factors. A questionnaire survey and personal interviews methodology was used for this research. Most critical variables causing construction delay were analyzed using factor analysis. These results will significantly contribute in controlling the time overruns in Indian road construction industry. This project delays forms a challenge for developing countries like India, where exponential costs result from difficulty in recognizing and mitigating the project delay factors. This research focuses on prominent factors causing delays in road construction industry, and accordingly proposes a suggestive framework to design a construction project in an efficient manner and assisting mitigating of delays.

The present endeavour focused on the industrial dispute scenario in J&K state and with special emphasis on the causes of disputes in the cement industry in J&K. The study found that over the period of time there has been gradual decline observed in the number of disputes in J&K but it has been experienced from the statistics that Jammu division is showing the presence of more disputes than other districts of the state. In addition to this, the study highlighted the issues namely recruitment, promotion and wages as the responsible factor for the causes of disputes in cement industry in J&K state. To create a harmonious relationship in the organisations, the policy makers and management should take into consideration the people at younger age group with fair level of experience and qualification so as to make efficient output by utilization the most important assets of the organizations. Adolescence is characterized by several social and emotional changes that include labile emotions, exploring and asserting of personal identity, independence, self-centred attitudes, testing rules and boundaries. Adolescents are intensively curious and have a wide range of intellectual pursuits but show disinterest in conventional learning styles. The researcher felt that comprehensive study on study skills is required to understand adolescents’ learning behaviour. Study Skills are the abilities applied in learning. Theorizing of study skills are supported by five important theoretical frameworks such as, social learning, cognitive problem solving, Constructivist Psychology, Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems and multiple intelligence theory. The study skills assessment scale is a tool developed by the researchers as a self- administered one to a group or to individuals. The scale includes several items which asses the overall level of the individual’s study skills. Respondents answer in a 5-point Likert scale ranging from 1to5. The study skills include time management, learning motivation, memory, concentration, association, comprehension, taking notes, preparation for examinations, textbook reading, consultation with teachers and home work. The study skills assessment scale was constructed with due diligence and extensive field observations to ensure the internal and external validity. The item analysis of the scale was carried out, determining the high score and low score and the relevance of scale. The validity was established through validation of each item by a team of experts in the field of psychology and education. The suggestions given by the experts were incorporated while finalising the items. Pilot tests were conducted among rural and urban including male and female school going adolescents. The reliability of individual items and total was calculated using split half method, test-retest and Cronbach’s alpha. The reliability score of the scale is shown as .90.

Every human thrives for an identity for themselves; they like to be known to others. The characteristics, beliefs, values, behaviours and thoughts all together form the identity of an individual. In other words it can be said as the concept that is developed about oneself. Neuroticism is one of the big five personality factor which basically the emotional instability of a person. The feelings of anxiety, rumination, fear and frustration is high in individuals who are high in neuroticism. The researchers of this study made an attempt to investigate the connection between personal identity and neuroticism of a person. This area is less studied and thus the study follows the exploratory research design to gain new insights and understandings of the association. The exploration included 127 late adolescents who fall under the age ranging from 18 – 19 years. The participants were selected from 4 different educational institutions, using systematic sampling technique. Aspects of Identity Questionnaire by Cheek, J. M. & Briggs, S. R. (2013) and Eysenck's personality Inventory, Short Form (1985) were administered to the participants. A statistical analysis of the data is done using parametric tests (Pearson Product Moment Correlation and Independent Sample t test). The results of the data showed a significant negative relationship between personal identity and neuroticism. And also there did not exist any gender difference among the variables of the study. The implication, limitations and suggestions of the study are discussed in the paper.

The primary objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between job demands with burnout and job resources with engagement. Primary data collected through face to face interaction by providing the structured questionnaire with five-point Likert scale is considered for rating. In this research paper, the findings are distinctive and integrated. JD-R model investigation shows there is a healthy relationship between the Job resource and engagement. Researchers have found job demands are the causes of employees exhaust and cynicism, whereas the increase in the job resources of the organization will play a significant role in bringing the positive attitude of the employees. Physical and emotional demands are the critical factors affecting the employees. The JD-R model is a framework that can be used for Indian railways to reduce the job demands and increase the job resources, simultaneously to improve the personality of the employees and get the desired outcome.

Past research show that fairs can bring positive benefits such as economic, social and community togetherness to their host community. In addition, fairs have the ability to create memorable experience for visitors, dampen negative images regarding host community, and create activities to motivate travelers. According to Getz (1991, 1997) festivals and public celebrations are seen as unique tourist attractions and destination image makers. Events and festivals also play a significant role in the lives of communities; enhance the local image of their host community (Getz, 1993). The experiences are base on the necessary services provided to the visitors. Therefore, the paper aims to examine visitor’s experiences about various services of a famous fair i.e. Surajkund Craft Fair, Faridabad (Haryana). A structured Likert-type questionnaire was used to collect the opinions of respondents. The data was analysed using various appropriate statistical tool and the findings are presented in last part of the paper alongwith suggestions. This research clearly indicates that the Safety and Security services is major attribute of Services. The theory and practise of traditional cost and management accounting has been under severe criticism in recent years. Professionals working in industry and academia world over have critically debated over traditional concept’s relevance for cost control, performance appraisal, product costing/pricing and decision-making purposes. Critics contend that in a world class manufacturing environment (WCM) characterised by concepts of just in time (JIT) and total quality management (TQM), traditional costing becomes redundant as a performance measurement, decision making and cost control tool (Johnson,1987). They argue that traditional costing induces dysfunctional behaviour amongst employees because of fear of adverse variances being attributed to them (Birnberg. 1992) and also promotes the concept of cost plus pricing (Kaplan, 1984) which is not relevant in the modern day dynamics where selling prices are decided by market forces. Concepts as target costing and activity based costing are thought of to be more appropriate in today’s manufacturing environment. The impact of these criticisms has had a profound impact on the way this subject is perceived, be it academia or the industry or professional bodies regulating the profession of accounting. Arguments in favour of traditional costing still remain , however, the winds of changes appear continuous .A long and time tested language is being pushed into oblivion, being replaced with tools and techniques of the modern era which have and are being brought forward as betterments over the so called limitations of the traditional structure. Register India, like any other country, in the world is concerned about increasing air pollution arising out of CO2 emissions from use of cars and vehicles. The government has been promoting use of electric vehicles and is likely to announce a full proof policy. However, several factors such as cost of production, growing prices of battery and environmental concerns arising out of battery waste are likely to be elements that will lead to limits to growth of e-cars (electric cars or electric vehicles) in the country. In this paper, a study has been made regarding projection of growth of electric vehicles (EV) and the causes that may hinder such a growth. Results show that leading car manufacturer is apprehensive about keeping the price of car in the range affordable by the Indian customers; companies worldwide are concerned about economic viability and technical feasibility of recycling battery waste; the battery charging infrastructure and the damage that the environment is also likely to sustain due to mining of lithium and cobalt.

Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to examine the effects of Service Quality Dimensions on Customer Satisfaction and Service Loyalty in Telecom Industry. Design/Methodology/Approach: Service Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Service Loyalty were measured using 5-point Likert scale from the literature. Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor analysis and Structural Equation Modeling were conducted to examine the effects of Service Quality on Customer Satisfaction and Service Loyalty. Findings: Not all dimensions of Service Quality affect Customer Satisfaction and Service Loyalty. Only Empathy and Reliability have significant effect on Customer Satisfaction, whereas, Empathy, Assurance, Responsiveness and Tangibility have significant effect on Customer Loyalty. When it comes to mediation, Customer Satisfaction partially mediates between Empathy and Customer Loyalty. Research Limitation/Implications: The main limitation of the study is that it was confined to the city of Delhi only. India is a big and diverse nation, so the findings of Delhi city cannot be generalized for the entire nation. Secondly, present study focuses only on Telecom Service Industry. Practical Implication: The findings clearly indicate the dimensions of Service Quality which the practioners has to focus to provide better service quality.

Aim: The present study aims to explore the psychological correlates that are related to career oriented positive psychological strengths, namely, Career Adaptability, Career Optimism and Perceived Knowledge among the panchayat school students. Materials and Methods: It is basically a report of the pilot study for a major ICSSR fellowship study which is exploratory and descriptive in nature. A popular village panchayat school in Salem district with a 300 students was chosen as the target school. 134 students were randomly selected. Of them 80 were girls and 54 were boys. They were all administered career futures inventory developed by Patrick Joseph Rottinghaus (2004). It measures career optimism, career adaptability capacities and perceived knowledge. In this study these variables are considered positive psychological variables for positive psychology has emerged as a separate branch of study and the field has started attracting controlled randomized experimental investigations. Synopsis of the Result: The percentage analysis revealed that 70.1% of students have chosen a career and have not investigated about their chosen career. 21.6% of students investigated a number of careers and have selected only one. 47.8% of the students quite often think about their career goals. 40.3% of students said they put high level of effort for their school work. 66.4% of students said they put high level of effort for learning about their career options. During a typical week, only 2.2% of students spent over 60 hours of activities related to their school work. 4.5% of students are found to be very dissatisfied about their current major. 41% of students are spending 16-30 hours and 6% are over 60 hours to explore their career options during the last 6 months. The analysis of correlation revealed no significant relationship among these three variables. However, results of independent t’ test revealed that Female village panchayat school students were found to have more career adaptability capacities and perceived knowledge. It was also revealed that 11th Std. students are found to have more career adaptability and perceived knowledge than the 12th Std. students. Implications: Students in the city have many career related advices and advantages but in the rural area, for the Panchayat School students their career development is not systematic. Hence, the main study focuses on enhancing these through a systematic positive psychological intervention. The implications are discussed in the main article in line with the contemporary career psychological perspectives.

In classical economics, labour is one of the three factors of production, along with capital and land. The word welfare has historically been related to happiness and prosperity. Labour welfare implies the adoption of measures to promote the physical, social, psychological and general well-being of the working population. Welfare work in any industry aims, or should aim, at improving the working and living conditions of workers and their families. Adequate levels of earnings, safe and humane conditions of work and access to some minimum social security benefits are the major qualitative dimensions of employment which enhance quality of life of workers and their productivity. Constitution of India, national and internal labour bodies, labour laws, especially the factories act, 1948 and contract labour (Regulation and abolition) Act, 1970 strive to make the working conditions more humane with a view to make workers not only satisfied but also productive. The paper studies the statutory welfare facilities and the provision of leaves as enumerated under Factories Act and contract labour act and social security provisions under different acts. The study was conducted in engineering companies to know the perception of workers about the different dimensions of welfare i.e. statutory welfare measures, social security measures and leaves provided and also to know the impact of worker’s status (permanent/contractual) on such measures. The sample comprised of 97 workers employed with different engineering companies. These companies can be categorised as light and heavy engineering companies employing varying strength of workers. The results indicated that though significant workers were satisfied with the welfare facilities, some workers perceive welfare facilities to be inadequate and there is impact of worker’s status on the perception of workers.

For example, Black women experience various forms of oppression simultaneously, as a complex interaction of race, gender, and class that is more than the sum of its parts. By focusing on gender as the primary locus of oppression, main-stream feminist legal thought often forces women of colour to fragment their experience in a way that does not reflect the reality of their lives .The recognition of women's differences, however, does not negate the fundamental premise of feminism that women are oppressed "as women ."'It is still, therefore, useful to make patriarchy a focus of feminist inquiry and opposition. How, then, do we understand our condition as women and work towards our liberation? Recent feminist scholarship has established that racism makes women different, even though women are all subject to patriarchy. What I wish to examine is the relationship between racism and patriarchy. Racism and patriarchy are not two separate institutions that intersect only in the lives of Black women. They are two interrelated, mutually supporting systems of domination and their relationship is essential to understanding the subordination of all women. Racism makes the experience of sexism different for Black women and white women. But it is not enough to note that Black women suffer from both racism and sexism, although this is true. Racism is patriarchal. Patriarchy is racist. We will not destroy one institution without destroying the other. I believe it is the recognition of that connection along with the recognition of difference among women that is truly revolutionary.1
