Mel’nychna Krucha is a multilayered prehistoric site on the left bank of the Southern Buh river near to the Sabatynivka village, Kirovograd region. The archaeozoological complex of the Mel’nychna Krucha, despite the relatively small volume, is characterized by significant species diversity. The archaeozoological collection has more than 1500 fragments of the bones of mammals, birds and reptiles. Significant utilization of bones does not allow characterizing the morphology of animals. Significant utilization and the presence of charred bone fragments suggests that the complex represents a «kitchen leftovers». They are the result of human activity on the spot settlement. In the Mesolithic period the inhabitants of the settlement got a deer, aurochs, and wild boar. Bones of the underground voles and of the lynx indicates the existence of more significant forest areas than in the following Neolithic age. The population of Bug- Dniester culture was the domestic dog and to breed pigs, but the main occupation was hunting. The main objects of hunting were red deer and roe deer, and less was producing the tour and the horse. The question about breeding domestic pig by population of Neolithic Buh-Dniestr culture demands for the final solution exploring additional archaeozoological material. In the end of the bronze age the leading role was played by livestock breeding, hunting played a secondary role. Analysis of wild animal species allows to infer the existence of site within the southern boundary of the steppe zone. Moreover, the number of forests and their density, was clearly greatest in the Mesolithic. Overall, archaeozoological complex of Mel’nychna Krucha expands the source base for the reconstruction of the economy of the ancient population and landscape-ecological situation of the North-Western Black sea region in the Mesolithic – late bronze age.

Only a few researchers have paid attention to the issue of finding weapons in the Sarmatian female burials from the North Pontic area. This strongly differs from the eastern parts of the Sarmatian cultural and historical community’s area, where this issue was often the subject of lively discussion. This peculiarity is due to a small number of Sarmatian burials with the sex of buried determined by anthropological method from this area. And in those complexes identified by anthropologists as female, the weapons were recorded very rarely. The article deals with a brief summary of female burials containing weapons from the Sarmatian sites discovered in the North Pontic area. The complexes are examined in chronological order. The sex of buried in these complexes was mainly determined by the anthropological method, which seems the most reliable. However, because of this criterion, the number of sites in the sampling is insignificant. As a result of the analysis it was determined that in the most cases the weapons have been already placed in the female burial to perform a secondary function, as the amulets or symbols. The Sarmatians used the archaic arrowheads and axes for similar purposes. However, in the late Sarmatian period, one female burial was recorded among the military male burials from the Novye Bedrazhi cemetery. This burial contained the similar set of weapons. It is most likely that this complex is an evidence of participation of woman in military operations on a par with men.

The article consists of two parts devoted to mosques and Christian churches of the fortress and the city of Akkerman (modern Belgorod-Dnistrovsky, Odessa region, Ukraine). On written sources and old topographic plans, it was established that in Ottoman times there were at least 10 mosques (one wooden), but at the same time 7-8 (according to the data of 1793). The Sultan’s Bayazid II or Selim mosque was probably erected in the 1510s-1520s, and in 1588 it was buried the Crimean Khan of Islam II Geray. Her building was twice rededicated to the Christian church (in 1770 and 1789). One more, the Khan mosque was converted to the church in 1809. In addition, the author cited data on the existence of a special Moldavian church in Akkerman in 1785 (since 1816 it is known as the Bulgarian church), and in the annexes – descriptions of the Greek and Armenian churches of the 1880s years.

The Article highlights the charity events that were aimed for improving the development conditions of the Orthodox educational institutions which belong to the Ecclesiastical subordination and poor students in the Volyn province in the XIX – early XX centuries. The personal charity and the charity of trustee associations was analyzed on the background of financial and material provision of the seminaries, the men and women's religious schools, parish schools and courses. Seminary students and students of religious schools did not have the proper financial and material support. Voluntary contributions, which were concentrated in the capital of trustees' associations and scholarship funds under the control of the diocesan authorities, partially solved the problem. The exception is the College of Pastoralism, which had a missionary orientation and a lot of money were spent on that by the Synod.

The role of organization is to solve material-economic problems of Jewish population in 20-30s of the documents in M. Mitsel’s book «The final chapter: Agro-Joint in the years of the Great terror». The analysis of archive-investigation cases allows to concretize the names of Stalin's despotism victims. Complex comprehension of the reasons and directions of elimination of Agro-Joint responsible employees by repressive structures takes place in the second half of the 30-s in the XX-th century.

This article examines the interpretation of the views of a prominent theologian of the Antioch school – Theodore of Mopsuestia(350-428) in the correspondence of Proclus, the patriarch of Constantinople (434-446) with the representatives of the Armenian church. After the events of the Third Ecumenical Council (431 В.С.) and the condemnation of the Nestorius’s works, a considerable part of his supporters began to refer to the works of the highly esteemed Theodore, who was considered the teacher of Nestorius. This circumstance gave rise to an attempt to revise the attitude towards the deceased bishop. The conflict around the legacy of Theodore began in Syria, and then spread to the territory of Armenia. The correspondence between Proclus and the Armenians reflects the specific relationship of the Byzantine Christian Church with neighboring churches, as well as the peculiarities of the policy of the highest hierarchs of the Armenian Church in conditions when their country was divided between Persia and the Eastern Roman Empire.

The beginning of the 20th century had a great influence on the history of the Russian Empire. It was a time of conjunction different movements, trends, and ideologies. Time when revolution, war and system crisis launched the process of great changes. An important part of these changes was Imperial elite. Therefore, the study of historical figures is an important part in identifying the objectivity of historical events. One of such figure was a state councilor, «Rossiya» newspaper editor and fellow campaigner of P. Stolypin – Illya Yakovych Hurlyand. In September of 1911 Russian Empire was shocked after mysterious murder of P. Stolypin – great Russian reformer. Revolutionist Dmitriy Bogrov killed not only prime minister, at those day also die all hopes on the progressive changes In the whole country. In the same time I. Hurlyand realizing unstable situation in government, decided stay away from government, but didn’t leave trying to influence the political course. So, we may see that from 1911 to 1916, I. Hurlyand had no direct influence on politics, but he successfully participated in intrigues and already felt the threat of a revolutionary solution to the emerging social conflict. I. Hurlyand came back to politics only in 1916, when B. Shtyurmer lead the Council of Ministers. However, I. Hurlyand career did not last long, and he, as and empire, which was defiantly defending by him, was thrown into oblivion, dying in 1921 in exile.

The correspondence as a source of prosopographic research is considered. The main life stages of the formation of the ascetic profile of the father of Irakli Kostecki are presented: novitiate, monastic vows of the profess, theological studies, ordination in priest, pedagogical, missionary and administrative works. The basic questions which were discussed in mutual correspondence were determined: the organization of the spiritual life of monasticism, the educational work and material foundations for the maintenance of the monastery. A source-study review of the book of registration of the entrance documentation of the monastery office was submitted. Two letters-request and two letters-answer with the relevant instructions were introduced for scientific circulation. For conducting of the prosopography researches of prominent representatives of the Basilian monasticism the review of their correspondence with the church hierarchs and secular benefactors. In the textual analysis of the content of the letters, we have the opportunity not only to become more familiar with the circumstances of the foundation of the Basilian monastery in Uman, but also to know and appreciate the significant contribution of individual figures in this process. Considered figures of father Irakliy Kosteckiy, as the first rector of the monastery in Uman, and Francishek Salezi Pototsky, as the founder of this monastery, were the object of study at the monastery researchers, the events of Haidamachchyna in the Uman region and biographies. However, these intelligence did not pay particular attention to the review of correspondence as one of the sources for a deeper study of the identity of father Irakli Kostecki. While working out the book of registration of the incoming documentation of the office of the Basilian monastery in Uman, it was possible to find and work out mutual correspondence about. Irakli Kostetsky with the founder of this monastery Francishek Salezii Potocki.

The article describes the most important trends in the interpretation of the events of World War II in modern synthetic works. The article determined peculiarities of the process of preparation of synthetic works, presented the source of synthetic researches, revealed changes in the perception of the tasks of historical knowledge of wartime and the problems of historical research, and outlined Russian concepts of synthetic works and their interpretation of the events of the Second World War at the present stage of the development of historical science. The article identified the mechanisms and means of forming historical memory as an essential sociocultural attribute of national identity. Particular attention was paid to the analysis of the interaction of contemporary Russian historiography and state policy of memory and their influence on the creation of synthetic editions.

In the article, based on historical discourse, an analysis of the factors contributing to the emergence of natural collections and their gradual transformation into natural science museums was carried out. The qualitative difference between medieval and Renaissance collecting is shown. The factors that served as an impetus to the development of naturaliа and the emergence of the museum as a socio-cultural institution during the Renaissance were investigated. The history of the formation of natural history collections in various regions of Europe is briefly presented. The first European natural-scientific collections are described. The main types of premises for Renaissance expositions are considered. The main forms and names of Renaissance collections are described, examples of the use of terms and the differences between them are described: studiolo, kunst- and wundercameras, natural history cabinet. It is noted that it was the kunstkamera who first began to divide the collectibles into groups of thematic assemblies. The appearance of specialized collections of naturalias and their significance as a research base for scientists are described. A great influence of natural science collections on the development of natural sciences (zoology, botany, mineralogy, etc.) is shown. The transformation of pre-museum collections into ordered collections and early museums is presented as a new form of organization of the phenomena of culture and science that appeared during the Renaissance. The connection between the development of specialized natural history cabinets in Western Europe in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries is shown with the development of natural science and a change in the world view of a Renaissance man.
