Hurlyand's political activity for the future revolution

The beginning of the 20th century had a great influence on the history of the Russian Empire. It was a time of conjunction
different movements, trends, and ideologies. Time when revolution, war and system crisis launched the process of great changes.
An important part of these changes was Imperial elite. Therefore, the study of historical figures is an important part in
identifying the objectivity of historical events. One of such figure was a state councilor, «Rossiya» newspaper editor and fellow
campaigner of P. Stolypin – Illya Yakovych Hurlyand.
In September of 1911 Russian Empire was shocked after mysterious murder of P. Stolypin – great Russian reformer.
Revolutionist Dmitriy Bogrov killed not only prime minister, at those day also die all hopes on the progressive changes In the
whole country.
In the same time I. Hurlyand realizing unstable situation in government, decided stay away from government, but didn’t
leave trying to influence the political course. So, we may see that from 1911 to 1916, I. Hurlyand had no direct influence on politics, but he successfully participated in
intrigues and already felt the threat of a revolutionary solution to the emerging social conflict. I. Hurlyand came back to politics
only in 1916, when B. Shtyurmer lead the Council of Ministers. However, I. Hurlyand career did not last long, and he, as and
empire, which was defiantly defending by him, was thrown into oblivion, dying in 1921 in exile.
