Though living side by side for centuries, the sentiments Hindus and Muslims have never adequately understood or trusted one another, and killings, partition and wars have resulted. Thus a fresh look at the religious fundamentalism is not hard to justify. Not that India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh relations can be equated with the. Hindu- members in Pakistan are negligible, and Muslim participation in India's conflicts with Pakistan has always been more than nominal. But the two subjects, how the neighboring nations get along and how the neighboring communities do, are not unconnected. Passions, however, overtake our understanding. We take sides before we have grasped what’s happened and is happening. We are merely more polarized, not better informed, after we have read and talked of issues such as Shah Bono or of Babri Masjid Ram Janmbhoomi. Our religious fundamentalism and the consequential communal riots have many dimensions, including the commercial, the political and the criminal, but it is undeniable that they fuel polarization and also feed on it.

Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) had a significant contribution to the psychoanalytical movement and is generally considered as the prototype of the dissident through the impact of his scission and the amplification of the movement he created in his turn (analytical psychology). Jung was the son of a Swiss reverend. He completed his medical studies, specialized in psychiatry and joined the staff of Burgholzli, the renowned psychiatric hospital in Zurich, run at that time by the famous Dr. Eugen Bleuler. In 1902-1903 he attended a traineeship in Paris with Pierre Janet, and then returned to Zurich and he was called senior physician at Burgholzli. It was in this context that Jung was introduced to Freud in 1907. Freud would be seduced by the prestige and personality of Jung and would soon see in him the spiritual son that could ensure the survival of psychoanalysis, so much so as Jung was not Jewish. Intense, professional and friendship bonds form between the two, with an ambivalence dominated by the inclination of Jung to underestimate himself in comparison with Freud, the fervor of his devotion to the "father" of psychoanalysis and oneiric hostility (emphasized by Freud in the common interpretation of dreams).

The present investigation is to find out the difference in the social adjustment of college students with regard to their gender. The total random sample consisted 100 (50 Male and 50 Female) college students belonged from various colleges of Mehsana city. 'Social Adjustment Inventory' developed by R. C. Deva (1990) was administered as a tool for the study. The obtained data were analyzed by using 't'-Test. The result shows that there is no significant mean difference in Social Maturity and Social Adjustment of male and female college students. There is significant mean difference in Emotional Adjustment of the college students in relation to their gender.

The present study explored the relationship between classroom environment and academic achievement of the subjects. The subjects 11th class students. The sample of 80 students was selected from various colleges of Aurangabad city. Simple random sampling method was used for selecting subjects. The study was experimental “pre-test post-test equivalent group design” was used for this study. Statistical data was collected from pre-test post-test. Mean, standard deviation and t test were used for statistical procedure. In this study results are significant at 0.05 level. The study showed that there is significant difference between classroom physical environment and academic achievement of subjects.

The present study to investigate the status of self-esteem and aggression among yoga performer and not performing students. The sample consists of 160 students of male and female students. With age ranging from 15 years to 25 years located at Jalna city. Two-way ANOVA was used for dependent variables of the total sample under study. A 2x2 factorial design will be used to analyzing the data. The Self-esteem Inventory developed by Dr. A.K. Srivastava and Aggression Questionnaires developed and standardized by Dr. G.C. The yoga performer students was found high level of self-esteem than yoga not performing students and the level of aggression was also high found in yoga not performing students than the yoga performer students. Yoga and gender also significant effect on aggression.

Anxiety is a feeling of uneasiness characterized by irritability, palpitations, dry mouth, tension and a feeling of impending doom. Anxiety feels like “fear”; one might know what one is afraid of, but it is difficult to know what makes one anxious. Anxiety impairs academic performance. The aim of the present study is to find out effectiveness of Cognitive behaviour therapy in the management of anxiety among school students. One hundred thirty healthy and well motivated school students, sixty five Boys and sixty five girls, studying Higher Secondary Course at Cambridge Matriculation and Higher Secondary School, Bangalore, constituted as a sample for the present study. School students were administered with 16 Personality Factor Questionnaire Form D (16 PF) to assess anxiety in their basic personality. Out of 130 school students, 50 students, twenty five Boys and twenty five Girls, who showed high anxiety in the assessment of personality (16 PF), were administered with State Trait Anxiety Index (STAI) to assess the magnitude and severity of anxiety. Fifty School students, who were identified as anxiety prone in the personality test, showed high anxiety on STAI. They were managed through Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) to counteract ill-effects of anxiety for three months. Results clearly indicate that there is extremely significant difference (P > 0.0001) existing between pre and post test Trait anxiety Percentile Rank scores of school students. CBT helped in the management of anxiety among school students. CBT seems to be one of the most effective, less time consuming and more economical therapeutic techniques in the management of anxiety among school students.

The recent trends and challenges have brought dramatic changes in terms of creating virtual workplaces for both men and women. The present study aims to investigate feminine androgynous supervisors and subordinates who belong to rural and urban area and their differences in conflict management styles in work setting, research was conducted on the differences between status, residential area and preferred conflict management strategies. Identify the differences between androgynous female supervisor and subordinates and their adopted to resolve interpersonal conflict. The sample consisted of 220 Organizational androgynous female employees selected randomly from various branches of Rajkot districts. The Bem‟s Sex Role Orientation (BSRO) inventory adapted in Indian setting by Rao, Gupta and Murthy was used to measure gender role. Rahim‟s Organization Conflict Inventory (ROCI-II) was used to measure Conflict management style. The study reflects that significant effect between supervisor and subordinates conflict management styles and there was significant interactional effect of status and residential area.

The process of empowerment will not only be able to improve their skills and access to productive resources, but also succeed in enhancing quality, dignity and work in the society status. The effect of empowerment of women creates a powerful influence on the norms, values and finally the laws that govern these communities (Cheryl 1999; Czuba 1999; Nanette 1999; Page 1999). Empowerment includes cognitive and psychological elements, such as a women‘s understanding of her condition of subordination and the causes of such conditions. This requires an understanding the self and the cultural and social expectations, which may be activated by education.

The present investigation was carried out to study the impact of Self-efficacy on Psychological Well-being among undergraduate students. The sample consisted of 100 (50 Male and 50 Female) students selected from the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. In order to collect the requisite data, General Self-Efficacy Scale (S. Sud, Schwarzer and Jerusalum, 1995) and Psychological Well-being (Carol Ryff, 1989) was used to study the mentioned problem Simple Linear Regression was used analysis impact the self efficacy on psychological well being among undergraduate students. The findings of the present study show that, correlation between Self-efficacy and Psychological Well-being among Male students was found R = .596 and actual contribution of predictor variable to criterion variable was found to be 35.6% whereas among Female students correlation between Self-efficacy and Psychological Well-being was found R = .551 and actual contribution of predictor variable to criterion variable was found to be 30.4%. Further t-test was applied between Self-efficacy as well as Psychological Well-being of both groups, where it was found that there was insignificant difference between Self-efficacy of Male and Female students but a significant difference was found between Psychological well-being of both groups.

Every student desires to perform well in schooling whether it is academic performance or others. Students’ performance gets distorted by many factors like overburden, difficulty of subject etc. Information technology has put another kind of burden on students. It is interesting on one hand while distracting on the other hand. This is mainly use of internet among adolescents due increasing literacy of computer and its uses in day today life. Observing present scenario the current study is aimed to find out the effect of internet addiction on mental health and academic performance of students. The sample consisted of 100 high school students, age ranging, 14 to 16 years drawn randomly from English medium schools of Rishikesh & Haridwar (Uttarakhand). Findings of the present study revealed that there was a significant effect of internet addiction on academic performance and mental health of students/adolescents. Results further indicated that the students who were in the severe and profound groups of internet addiction were found to have detrimental effects on both in their academic performance and mental health rather than the students who were addicted to the internet usage moderately.

(The Youth Empowerment Seminar) programme is a life skills programme. It is composed of three modules: Healthy Body, Healthy Mind and Healthy Lifestyle. The Art of Living YES! Programme is based on- Sudarshan Kriya, Meditation and breathing techniques, Techniques for mental focus and concentration, Techniques for overcoming fear and anxiety, Interactive process, team games, Food awareness, Group discussions, Learning through fun and games, service to others, confidence building and leadership. YES! programme was applied by the Art of Living teacher. The researcher developed a rating scale for measuring YES! programme. Post test only experimental group design was used in this research. The students of SSRVM School, VallabhVidyanagar made the population for the study. For content analysis X2 was found out and interpretation is derived from the result. School students have shown positive tendency about YES! programme. Students were more positive. YES! programme was found more effective on the students of SSRVM School. It is suggested that such progammes can be implemented on various groups at Schools to enhance the positive life skills and better living and life style.

The Present investigation is to find out the differences in mental health of East and West area people in Ahmedabad. The sample consisted of 120 people out of which 60 were east area people and 60 were west area people. For this purpose of investigation „Mental Health Analysis Inventory‟ by A.B.Jansari, HarkantBadami, Charulata Badami was used. The data obtained were analyzed through„t‟ test to know the mean difference between the two groups. The result shows that there is no significant difference in mental health of east and west area people and east area male-female in Ahmedabad. There is significant difference in mental health of west area male and female people at 0.05 Levels.

The present study evaluates the emotional maturity and self concept among Doctors and managers. The sample consisted of 100 professionals (50 Doctors and 50 Managers) from Jalgaon and Nashik cities of North Maharashtra. Self-concept rating scale, developed by Dr. Muktarani Rastogiand Emotional Maturity Scale by Singh and Bhargava Scales were used to collect the data. The data were analyzed by „t‟ test. The results discovered that the Doctors and Managers have no significantly difference on emotional maturity. It was also noticed that Doctors and Managers have no significantly difference on self concept.

Our decisions decide our destiny. Problem solving, decision-making, analytical reasoning and creativity are important abilities not only for studies but also for every sphere of life. SETP (Seven Effective Thinking Patterns) tool developed by Dr. Arvinder Singh was applied on teenagers to study the effect on their cognitive abilities. The study was done on 50 convent school students. Important parameters like Innovative Thoughts, Decisive Factors, Pros- Cons Analysis and Broader Perspectives were studied on the scale of 1 to 5. Scoring was done for Pre-training and Post-training sessions. For innovative thoughts pre-training score was 2.10±0.678, while for post training it was 3.34±0.717. Decisive factor‟s pre-training score was 1.68±0.653, while for post training it was 3.52±0.735. Pros-cons analysis pre-training score was 1.66±0.557 and post training score was 3.32±0.768. Broader perspective pre-training score was 1.86±0.700, while for post training it was 3.52±0.931.For language pre-training score was 2.70±0.763, while for post training it was 2.76±0.847. For expression pre-training score was 2.68±0.768 and for post training it was 2.88±1.256. The above findings suggest that SETP tool was effective and showed significant improvement in 4 out of 6 parameters. The tool was not effective for language and expression parameters. Important point is that by SETP tool, we were able to enhance the cognitive abilities of school going children, which will make solid foundation for their future.

"Green Marketing" refers to holistic marketing concept wherein the production, marketing consumption and disposal of products and services happen in a manner that is less detrimental to the environment with growing awareness about the implications of global warming, non-biodegradable solid waste, harmful impact of pollutants etc. Both marketers and consumers are becoming increasingly sensitive to the need for switch in to green products and services (Mudhassir, 2010). .Green consumers can be defined as one:-“Who is mindful of environment related issues and obligations, and is supportive of environmental causes to the extent of switching allegiance from one product or supplier to another even if it entails higher cost”. Thus the purpose of the research was to explore the concept of green marketing, or green products in relation to consumer behavior. Samples were selected through random sampling. 70 college going students of Aligarh Muslim University participated in the research. Green consumer value scale by Haws et al (2010) and sustainability endorsement scale by William A.McConochie were used to measure the consumer behaviour. For statistical analysis Pearson correlation was used.

BACKGROUND: There are various barriers to donating blood that influence the behavior of people towards blood donation such as cultural beliefs in some ethnic groups, socio-economic factors, their knowledge or lack of knowledge with regards to blood donation and other issues AIM & OBJECTIVE: To establish motivational and socio-demographic factors for the development of a long-term commitment as a blood donor. METHODOLOGY: Questionnaire-based study collected from 310 participants containing 22 items, including socio-demographic information, donors' evaluation of blood bank service and 23 statements on motivation. Data on motivation was analyzed using factor analysis. RESULTS: Representation of males (85.4%) for donation was much higher compared to females (14.6%).Unemployed individuals were found to be under-represented. The single, most important, recruitment channel was the influence of active blood donors. CONCLUSION: Most donors were recruited by other donors. Their continued involvement as blood donors was primarily linked to altruistic and empathic reasons.

Background: Acceptance and commitment therapy is a third generation behavior therapy mainly used in treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. The main goal of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment group therapy on anxiety, depression and Rumination in mothers of children with special needs. Materials and Methods: The statistical society included mothers of children with special needs in Hamedan city. In this semi-experimental design, by using convenience sampling;18mothers were selected and they were divided into two groups of intervention and control randomly. Mental evaluation included a clinical interview (based on DSM-V), a clinical psychologist conducted Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Rumination Response Scale (RRS). Depression, anxiety and rumination Scales were assessed at three stages: prior and after first intervention session and three weeks after the intervention sessions. Data were subjected to descriptive statistics and the analysis with a mixed ANOVA design. Results: Findings showed significant decrease in scales of Depression, Anxiety and Rumination and in post-test and follow up after Acceptance and commitment therapy intervention. Thus, group treatment based on the acceptance and commitment therapy caused significant changes in the treatment of anxiety, depression and rumination in mothers of children with special needs. Conclusion: The result of this study highlights the efficient role of acceptance and commitment group therapy on mothers of children with special needs and it introduces new horizons in clinical interventions.

Purpose of the present investigation was to study the role of parental attitude in development of aggressive behavior among adolescents. The sample comprised of 200 (100 male and 100 female) undergraduate students of Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh. Parent-Child Relation Questionnaire (PCRQ) (Singh, 1984) was used for measuring parental attitude and Aggression Questionnaire (Buss & Perry, 1992) was used for measuring adolescents aggression. Pearson Product-Moment Correlation and t-test were used for analyzing the data. Result revealed that there was significant negative correlation between positive parental attitude and aggression. It was also found that there was significant positive correlation between negative parental attitude and aggression. When gender differences was conducted on same sample, it was found that in father‟s attitude, female students scored significantly higher on only one positive dimension of father‟s attitude i.e. disciplining out of three positive dimensions (i.e. loving, protecting and disciplining) in comparison to male students, while male students scored significantly higher on only one negative dimension of father‟s attitude i.e. punishing out of three negative dimensions (i.e. dominating, rejecting, and punishing) in comparison to female students. Similarly, in mother‟s attitude, the results revealed that female students also scored significantly higher on two positive dimension of mother‟s attitude (i.e. loving and disciplining) out of three positive dimensions in comparison to male students. The results also showed that male students scored significantly higher on all three negative dimension of mother‟s attitude in comparison to female students. Further it was found that male students scored significantly higher on all four dimensions of aggression (i.e. physical, verbal, anger and hostility) in comparison to female students.

The aim of this experiment was to investigate the impact of levels of processing (Independent Variable) on our memory (Dependent Variable). We hypothesized to find that a deeper level of processing lead to a better memory and in turn, greater recall. The experiment controlled variables such as environmental conditions, age of the target population and educational background of the participants. The experiment uses the Independent Measures design and the participants are a convenience sample of teenagers. We reduced Practice Effect and Fatigue Effect by using the Single-Blind Technique. The results proved the hypothesis: Semantic encoding lead to greater retention and a deeper trace of memory whereas Structural encoding lead to a shallow processing of memory. These results are replicated in Craik and Lockhart‟s (1972), Levels of Processing model. The researches done by Hyde and Jenkins (1973) and Craik and Tulving (1975) also prove the same results: deeper levels of processing lead to better recall. The Mann-Whitney U test also made a clear distinction in the number of words recalled due to deep and shallow processing. The study also raised some limitations such as generalizations, rehearsal, ecological validity and others. In totality, the experiment effectively manipulated variables and reproduced accurate results.

The present research aims to examine the nature of social interaction anxiety in HIV positive adults and HIV negative adults as well as the effect of gender on social interaction anxiety (SIA). This study attempts to focus on some of the specific aspects of SIA that distinguish the HIV positive adults from the HIV negative adults and thus, place the former at a higher risk of further health care problems. A sample (N =60) of 30 HIV positive adults (15 men and 15 women) and 30 HIV negative adults (15 men and 15 women), aged between 18 to 25 years, responded to the Social Interaction Anxiety Scale (SIAS) (Mattick & Clarke, 1998). Findings indicated that the HIV positive adults reported higher social interaction anxiety than the HIV negative adults. Specifically, the HIV positive adults experienced higher levels of worry and tension, higher anxiety with respect to interpersonal skills, and greater fear of being judged than the HIV negative adults. The present study calls for further research to be done on the impact of social, economic, environmental (rural and urban) and educational backgrounds, family settings, personality and self-esteem of HIV positive adults on SIA.

Developmental Disorders interrupt normal development in childhood and involve significant handicaps, with onset before 18 years, which affect adaptive, self-help, cognitive and/or social skills. One of the most commonly occurring developmental disorders in normal school going children in India is Specific Learning Disability (3 % to 10%, Arun et al.,2013). The essential feature of Learning Disabilities is the presence of average to above average intelligence with large discrepancies between their abilities and specific areas of difficulty (DSM IV-TR, 2000). Parents play a crucial role in facilitating and maintaining gains in children with developmental disorders. Managing developmental disorders in children affects various aspects of the wellbeing of parents- the primary caregivers. This study focuses on the Quality of Life and Parenting Stress among parents whose children have Learning Disabilities. One hundred parents whose children were diagnosed with Learning Disability were involved in this study. The tools used were the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire (1996) and the Parenting Stress Scale by Judy. O. Berry (1995). Comparison with 100 parents whose children were normal was also studied and significant results were obtained. Gender differences in the experience of Quality of Life and Parenting Stress among parents whose children were diagnosed with Learning Disability was also seen. The study also explored the relationship between the Quality of Life and Parenting Stress experienced by parents whose children have Learning Disability. The relationship between the Quality of Life and Parenting Stress experienced by parents whose children are normal was also studied. The results of this study highlight the importance of integrating parental counselling and psycho-education for the effective management of Specific Learning Disability.

In the present corporate scenario employees‟ need to look beyond their assigned duties at work and adopt a holistic approach .Competitive employee tends to exceed the required role demands and goes that extra mile in order to excel in their overall performance. Contextual performance refers to this discretionary behaviour which goes beyond the boundary of assigned duties and contributes to the overall functioning of the organization. Through this study, the researcher attempts to study the relationship between contextual performance and its psychological correlates i.e. work engagement, psychological empowerment and spirit at work. A sample of 80 corporate executives was considered for the purpose of the study. Through application of correlational analysis, the hypothesized positive relationship between contextual performance and all psychological correlates was found to be significant. Further, through regression analysis psychological empowerment was found to be the strongest predictor of contextual performance among all the psychological correlates under study.

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a very common condition, occurring in women of reproductive age. This is an important source of stress for women, significantly affecting their regular functioning. Previous studies have shown that alternative forms of therapy like meditation have an effect on the symptoms associated with PMS. However, the direct link between the two has not been focused on by the larger group of researchers. In this study, the researcher intended to study the effects of classical music based chakra meditation on the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. The sample of the study comprised of 40 college students who were screened for premenstrual syndrome based on the Shortened Premenstrual Assessment Form (SPAF) and Calendar of Premenstrual Experiences(COPE) which they were expected to fill in for one menstrual cycle. The participants who qualified for the study were allotted to the intervention group and control group. The intervention group was expected to practice a 15 minute music based chakra meditation, everyday, for one menstrual cycle, during which they also filled in the COPE. The control group was expected to fill the COPE for one menstrual cycle. Both the groups filled in the SPAF after the completion of the menstrual cycle. The results on the SPAF and COPE showed that there was significant reduction in all the post-test symptom clusters of the experimental group, compared with the pre-test symptoms. Thus, this study demonstrates that music based chakra meditation can have significant healing effects on the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome.

Pessimist Individuals see difficulty in every opportunity where as Optimists see opportunity in every difficulty. Taking into consideration these characteristics of Optimism and Pessimism, this study was designed to conduct on the samples of the Optimist and Pessimist subjects in order to ascertain the influence of Religiosity on Subjective Well-being. Using Purposive Sampling technique, 50 Optimist and 50 Pessimist Post Graduate students were selected with the help of Life Orientation Test–Revised (LOT-R) developed by Scheier, Carver, & Bridges, (1994). Religiosity and Subjective Well-being among Optimists and Pessimists were assessed on the basis of scores on Religiosity Scale developed by Deka and Broota, (1985) and Subjective Well-being Inventory (SUBI) developed by Sell and Nagpal (1992). Data was analyzed with the help of Simple Linear Regression. The first finding revealed that Religiosity appeared as a significant predictor of Subjective well-being among Optimists. It means that there is a significant positive correlation „R‟= .774 between Religiosity and Subjective Well-being among Optimists whereas, the second finding also revealed that Religiosity appeared as a significant predictor of Subjective Well-being among Pessimists. This indicates that there is also a significant positive correlation „R‟= .497 between Religiosity and Subjective Well-being among Pessimists. Since, the Optimists and Pessimists were found in maintaining good Subjective Well-being but the value of „R‟ in case of Optimists was found to be much higher. So as on the basis of the obtained results , it is discussed that the Optimists look into more favorable side in the face of events and anticipate best possible outcomes in their favor as compared to the Pessimist counterpart. It is suggested that one has to make efforts to be Optimist rather than Pessimist to conquer challenges in their life.

Child abuse has many forms: physical, emotional, sexual, neglect, and exploitation. Any of these that are potentially or actually harmful to a child's health, survival, dignity and development are abuse. Violence against children can be “physical and mental abuse and injury, neglect or negligent treatment, exploitation and sexual abuse”. Research conducted over the past decade indicates that a wide range of psychological and interpersonal problems are more prevalent among those who have been sexually abused children than among individuals with no such experiences. This article summarizes what is currently known about these potential impacts of child sexual abuse. Various problems and symptoms described in the literature on child sexual abuse are reviewed in a series of broad categories including; Child sexual abuse, variety of sexual offenses, indications of sexual abuse in children and adolescents in terms of emotional and behavioural signs. In conclusion importance of psychotherapies have been mentioned as psychological intervention and was discussed few laws against child sexual abuse in the United States and India.

This paper investigates the relation between resilience and social problem solving among Indian adolescent boys and girls from a north Indian urban area. With the advent of information technology tools, multinational brands and privatisation of higher education in India, there has been a surge in the ambitions of the millennial Indian youth. This has also resulted in extreme competition, failure and non resilient outcomes for many. This study was conducted to find the level of correlation between resilience and social problem solving skills. The study revealed that adolescents high on resilience were significantly better on social problem solving skills, superior positive orientation towards problems in general and a rational approach towards solving them as well. Since resilience is a dynamic construct, problem solving training can be used to enhance resilience in adolescents facing mental health issues arising out of the typical urban Indian milieu.

In present study the researcher investigated the level of job satisfaction among the private and government school teachers. Total 200 government and private school teachers were taken from Ranchi town. In this research, 100 government and 100 private school teachers, 200 in total, working in different government and private schools were examined. Job satisfaction scale developed by Muthayya (1973) was used to measured job satisfaction. To test the hypotheses ‘t’ test was calculated. Result showed that there was no significant difference between government and private school teachers. Furthermore, it was again revealed that there was no significant difference in the level of job satisfaction of male and female school teachers.

The instrument used for the study comprised of a 27-item Competitive State Anxiety Inventory–2 and The Psychological Performance Inventory which had been distributed during sport between universities competition. The sample consisted of 119 football players, including the national athletes (N=37), state athletes (N=23), district athletes (N=23) and university athletes (N= 36). The results showed that elite or national football athletes exhibited lower levels of competitive state anxiety, F (3, 119) = 18.441, p < .01. The result also showed that the exits of negative correlation between competitive state anxiety and sport performance among football players, (r = -0.77; p<0.05). Sport psychologists, sport counselors and coaches should use the present findings to recommend coping strategies to university and district level athletes that are appropriate for dealing with their athletes’ competitive state anxiety.

Spirituality as propagated through Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) has resulted in the attainment of sobriety for many persons with Alcohol Dependence Syndrome. The aim of the study was to see the association between Spiritual Beliefs and Quality of Life. We conducted a study using a cross sectional design where two groups (AA and hospital based program) from Bangalore consisting of 60 respondents were recruited for the study and standardized tools were used. The findings suggest that the AA group had a longer duration of abstinence and a positive association was observed between spiritual beliefs and quality of life. Support groups like the AA, are to be integrated as part of the holistic treatment for persons with addiction related disorders.
