In contemporary environmentalism, the concept of sustainable development is becoming the major issue with the environmental perspective as well as economic. People consume the natural resources for fulfillment of their basic and commercial needs. These all human activities need to be reconsidered in a way which will allow the regenerative capacity of these resources to function. The main environmental issues are deforestation, soil erosion, air pollution from industrial effluents, air pollution from vehicle emissions, water pollution, huge and growing population and greenhouse effect etc. These issues have all contributed to the present deterioration of environmental systems. Present Economic production influences the environment in many ways. Mismanagement and overuse of India's once abundant forests has resulted in desertification, contamination, and soil depletion throughout the subcontinent. India’s population growth adds pressure to environmental issues and its resources. There are two closely connected dimensions that need to be addressed in concert: first is the environmental dimension, that the environment must be recognized as an integrated part of the economic process and not treated as a free good. Second is the sustainable development that phrased in general, qualitative terms, and includes such things as economic growth, the equal distribution of wealth within and between generations.

Investment is the employment of funds with the aim of getting return on it. It is the commitment of funds which have been saved from current consumption with the hope that some benefits will accrue in future. Today, investors have various investment avenues for investment with different features matching their needs. But the art of investment is to see that the return is maximized with minimum risk, which is inherent in all investments. The funds allocated by the investors to various investment avenues depend on to a large extent on the investment objectives perceived by them. Investment means the purchase by an individual of a financial or real asset that produces a return proportion to the risk assumed over some future investment period, for achieving this investor has to decide on how and where to deploy his/her saving. Saving motive is a desire to reserve certain potion of income for future. The main objective of investor is to invest in different investment avenues that deliver expected returns and help to meet the risk in future. An efficient financial sector mobilizes savings and allocates it to those investments which yield the highest rate of return. Savings are the difference between income and consumption. An increase in the volume of real domestic savings means that resources that would have been used for consumption are released for investment. Thus, it is a reward for waiting for money. The study on people’s choice in Investment Choices has been undertaken with the objective, to analyze the investment choice of people in Coimbatore District. Analysis of the study was undertaken with the help of survey conducted. After analysis and interpretation of data it is concluded that in Coimbatore District respondents are medium aware about various investment choices but they do not know aware about stock market, equity, bound and debentures.

Today, India is passing through great crises in almost all spheres of life. Social living in today's changing trends, which is marked by tremendous scientific and technological advancement, has resulting in an explosion of aspiration for achieving material goals. Globalization has brought an upheaval in the economic scenario worldwide. These, in turn, have brought about corresponding massive erosion in human's moral, spiritual and ethical values. The challenge of education is to make students more humane; more compassionate, more just, in a word, function as better human-beings. The need today is to have students who will act with courage and responsibility. Education without culture and value is a vehicle without brake. There is a need to prepare future citizens of multi-dimensional capabilities with wisdom and knowledge and the essential importance of ethics and values for spreading the value system in the society. The present paper is an attempt to develop a new model of Psychological strategies to put ethics in action for positive student character formation.

We propose a maturity model for Management education which is inspired by the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) used in software engineering. Similar to CMM, the Higher Education Maturity Model (HEMM) can be used to rate educational organizations according to their capability to deliver high quality education on a five level scale. Furthermore, HEMM can be used in order to improve an institution’s capability by implementing the best practices and organizational changes it describes. This study explores a CMM model suitable for education sector to improve the people practices and education level processes. For this purpose we have selected Capability Maturity Model (CMM) as our base model and People Capability Maturity Model (PCMM) and Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) as helping models for quality improvement in higher education sector.

The emergence of woman entrepreneurs and their contribution the national economy is quite visible in India. The number of woman entrepreneurs has grown over a period of time, especially in the 1990s. Woman entrepreneurs need to be lauded for their increased utilization of modern technology, increased investment, finding a niche in the expect market, creating a sizable employment for others and setting the trend for other woman Entrepreneurs in the organized sector. The woman in business is a recent phenomenon in India. The spread of education and increased awareness are aiding women of spread their wings in to areas which are hither to the monopoly of men. The number of women entrepreneurs in the field of engineering, electronics and energy are on the rise. Majority of the educated woman entrepreneurs having qualities such as accepts challengers, ambitious, enthusiastic, hard-working, skillful etc.

This paper focuses on “A Study on Financial Health of Select Indian Pharmaceutical Companies. The Pharmaceutical industry in India” is the world's third-largest in terms of volume. According to Department of Pharmaceuticals of the Indian Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, the total turnover of India's pharmaceuticals industry between 2008 and September 2009 was US$21.04 billion. While the domestic market was worth US$12.26 billion. The industry holds a market share of $14 billion in the United States.According to India Brand Equity Foundation, the Indian pharmaceutical market is likely to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14-17 per cent in between 2012-16. India is now among the top five pharmaceutical emerging markets of the world.

In the contemporary discussion on Modern Corporation and its impact on the economy, society and nation, the focus has been shifted from “growth with only profitability” to “growth with sustainable development”, which includes the stakeholders. There is considerable debate on the corporation’s obligations to civil society in the western world. In the developing countries the debate is sporadic. And it is the first time that many B schools in the country are participating in the task of preparation of cases of corporate governance from various industry units focusing on the process and decision making content implicit in the introduction, implementation and evaluation of various facets of corporate governance. The issue of corporate governance has always been central to finance and economics not only in high profile developed countries but in developing countries too since its importance to economic development. The paper highlights the changes and reforms taken in corporate governance in the light of corporate frauds like Satyam, Enron etc which lit the fire of increasing corporate governance activities and increased responsibilities of directors to ensure good governance as good governance is good business.

The changing Indian consumer behavior due to availability of large assortment of major products is leaving an impact on their consumption and consumption structure. Shopping orientations reflect categories of shoppers’ styles and consumers’ needs for products and services. It includes consumer activities, interests, and opinions about the shopping process based on past shopping experiences and the personal value system. Consumers in different shopping orientation groups place emphasis on different store attributes, which influence what they value in stores their variety seeking and consumption out shopping related to purchase products outside local shopping area behaviour patronage and purchase decisions and shopping behaviour. Shopping orientations exerts a direct influence on the perceived image of a store. Based on shopping orientation and store patronage, shoppers have been classified as viz., Economic Shoppers, Personalizing Shoppers, Ethical Shoppers, Apathetic Shoppers, and Recreational Shoppers. They have been classified also as viz., have to” shoppers; “moderate” shoppers; “experiential” shoppers; “product-focused” shoppers; “service” shoppers, and “practical” shoppers. The purpose of this paper is to examine the influence of store attributes on store patronage. An attempt has been made by the in this paper to review the existing literature on selected areas viz., Retailing formats; shopping orientations, and store attributes, and its impact on patronage Behaviour.
