Atmospheric corrosion can be slowed down or entirely stopped by placing metal equipment under a cover made of plastic foil. The results of investigation of the diffusion of water vapor through polyamid-polyethylene foil show that the vapor diffusion increases with the increase in relative air humidity. This characteristic makes polyamid-polyethylene foil no worse than polyethylene-polypropylene foil, which has been widely used so far.

This paper gives a procedure and a complete set of formulas for transformations from the Gauss-Krüger projection, used in Serbia, to the Universal Transverse Mercator and vice versa. Besides the conversions between plane and ellipsoid coordinates, the paper gives the formulas for the Helmert's seven-parameter datum transformation between a Serbian datum and a WGS 84 (World Geodetic System 1984) one.

This article shows the effect of the "Cross eye" jamming method on successful guidance of monopulse homing missiles. The analysis of the results has shown that the maximal tracking error is made if the jamming signals are coherent and out of phase, that a larger distance between jamming antennas causes a greater error, and that, opposite to expectations, a smaller distance between the jammer and the missile results in better jamming effects.

Identification of the condition of a cooling system without disturbing its function, when failures primarily occur due to changes in physic- chemical characteristics of engine cooling agents, has considerable technical and economical effects. Since change in functionality of complex cooling systems is most often a consequence of changes in the characteristics of cooling agents, the change of physic-chemical characteristics of coolants can be accepted as a parameter for evaluating cooling system conditions. There is nowadays a wide range of sophisticated measuring equipment for evaluation and analysis of physic-chemical characteristics of coolants.

This paper deals with the application of the Lambert guidance to the ballistic missile. By using the fundamental equation for the velocity-to-be-gained, the demanded command for the thrust angle is developed in terms of the rotational factor of its direction. The developed formula requires the Q-matrix which links a differential change in the missile position vector to the corresponding differential change in the correlated velocity for the fixed target position and the constant time of free flight. The choice of the rotational parameter provides different profiles of the missile attitude and flight path angle with time. By adjusting the rotational parameter for the thrust vector, the cut-off of the rocket engine can occur at zero angle of attack and the initial perturbations during free flight may be thus reduced.

In this paper the basic characteristics of the VPN networks are presented. The VPN networks on the second and the third level of the OSI reference model are analyzed. The realization of the IP VPN and VPN networks within MPLS environment is presented as well. Security in MPLS networks is one of the most important characteristics, especially in military communication systems, which is shown in the second part of this paper.

The paper deals with planning as an initial managing function in military organized systems as well as with planning as a process. The very essence of planning has been considered along with targeted goals, tasks to be fulfilled through planning and attainable results. The paper also gives a systematic presentation of drawbacks of planning in military organized systems, principles of planning, planning of particular tasks and a software for logistic support of particular planning phases.

The increasingly present investigations into tribometers can be explained by impossibility to embrace the complexity of the processes of friction and wear by investigating real systems, both by character of the physicochemical processes unfolding and mutual interrelations of a large number of influential parameters. The basic characteristics of examinations of tribometers are simplicity of their construction, low cost of conducting experiments, reduced experimenting time and a possibility to easily modify and control input variables. The application of tribology, and especially tribometry, regarding identification of the status of tribomechanical systems, aims to identify conditions and changes in processes and elements of tribomechanical systems. By adequate sampling and tribological investigations during tribomechanical system exploitation, on the basis of the model presented in this paper, it is possible to identify the status of a tribomechanical system and to predict its future behavior in exploitation, with purpose of preventive maintenance.
