Conceptions on the didactic methodologies of teaching based on primary education teachers point of view

This study arises from the concern about how teaching methods (case study, methods of projects, learning problems, among others) have become a methodology involved in the processes of education of teachers in the current comprehensive reform of basic education in Mexico. Its objectives were as follows: to describe the concepts based on the primary education teachers conceptions about didactic methodologies for competency development, to identify the uses that the primary education teachers have for didactic methodologies, to identify the subjects where primary education teachers use the didactic methods most commonly and to better understand the experiences of the teachers in relation with the results they obtain with the didactic methods applied. The study was based on a qualitative approach and the technique used was the open question questionnaire. It was concluded that there is great ignorance on the part of the respondents as to the application of these methods and how to employ planning and evaluation. However, the teacher is constantly changing, has doubts and pains, but also expressed desires to transcend and continue growing.
