The research aims to evaluate proportion of X-Y chromosom bearing sperm after sexing of local ram semen with different combination of BSA concentration. The research object was ten ejaculated semen of local ram, three years old. The research design used CRD (completely randomize design) with four treatments of BSA concentration combination on upper and bottom layer (T1: 3% & 6%, T2: 4% & 6%, T3: 5% & 10%, and T4: 6% & 12%), and 10 repetitions. Data analysis using analysis variance and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result showed that combination of BSA concentration was significantly effect on proportion of X-Y chromosome bearing sperm of local ram sperm. The higher average proportion of X-and Y-chromosome bearing sperm was obtained at combination 5% (75.55±1.09% for X) at upper layer and 10% BSA 76.45±1.12% for Y) of bottom layer. The conclusion is that combination of BSA concentratio n significantly effect on proportion of X-Y chromosome bearing sperm, and concentration of 5% and 10% BSA at upper layer and bottom layer gave the higher proportion of X-Y chromosome bearing sperm of local ram sperm.

This study aims to determine the effect of feeding fodder obtained from diversified dry land farming on daily weight gain, chest girth, shoulder height, and body length of male fattening Bali cattle. This study used a double Latin square design (LSD) with 4 treatments, namely T0 = local feed of farmers in Timor (farmer model). T1 = Diversified farm feed (T1 + mulato grass), T2 = T1 + legume Clitoria tarnatea, T3 = T2 + horticulture by-product using 4 periods as replicates. The livestock observed were eight male Bali cattle aged eight months to one year and weighed 97-121 kg (average 108.5 kg). The results showed that the feeding fodder obtained from the diversified farming had a significant effect (P<0.05) on daily body weight gain but not significant (P>0.05) on the linear body size measurements (chest girth, shoulder height, and body length). Considering the economical and convenient features, T2 feed treatment provided a greater contribution of 21.74% compared to control.

The maintenance of beef cattle in Indonesia is mainly carried out by smallholder farmers, so to meet national demand, beef cattle population needs to increase. While the government-initiated programs to increase e cattle population are many, studies to analyze smallholder farmers’ interest to improve their cattle size remain limited. This study aims to analyze factors influencing the interests of smallholder farmers in improving their beef cattle business. The variables were farmers’ age, gender, education level, family size, land ownership, beef cattle ownership, monthly income level, and cattle breed. The potential obstacles farmers faced to increase their beef cattle business were investigated. Conducted in Blora, Grobogan, Kebumen, Klaten, and Rembang Regencies, Central Java Province, this study purposively selected 287 beef cattle farmers aged 15-24 years as study respondents. The collected data were then subjected to binary logistic regression analysis using Stata 16. The findings showed that farmers’ motivation to increase the population of cattle they raised was influenced by their age and monthly income. The older the farmers, the less probable they were interested in improving their business. Farmers earning >IDR 1,000,000.00-3,000,000.00 per month showed probability of interest in increasing their business by growing beef cattle population

The development of goat breeding business needs to be done so that the business can compete in the era of industrial 4.0. The study aims to formulate the strategy to increase productivity in goat breeding business on the 4.0 industry era. The study used survey methods. Determination of the sample was done using stratified random sampling that took the region based on high land, moderate and low land. Then, on each level was taken by criteria of number of goats and the dominant species. Number of sample was determined using Nomogram Harry King and the total respondents was 322 farmers. The analysis used was Causal Loop Diagram modeling and Qualitative Descriptive. The results show that to increase the productivity of goat breeders can be done with optimize Information and Communication Technology (ITC) in production factors, utilization management system application and the inovation of feed technology, optimize smartphone as promotion and trading tools, share the information via social media, supply of information service based on website or application and transformation of extension to virtual extension

Morphometric characterization is the basis of conservation strategies, performance improvement, breeding, and sustainable utilization plan. The purpose of this research was to determine the morphometrics of the Kacang Goats at the fishpond area in Sidoarjo Regency based on different ages and sex. The fishpond area in Sidoarjo is a closed area where goats are raised and have the potential for inbreeding with the consequence of smaller-sized offspring than normal. Morphometric measurements included the head, ears, neck, body, legs, tail, and horns. This research used a descriptive analysis approach, presenting data in form of mean, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation. The result showed that the average face length of male vs. female Kacang goats was 16.73 ± 2.40 cm vs. 19.68 ± 2.44 cm; with a face width of 11.25 ± 2.91 cm vs. 19.52 ± 3.18 cm; ear length of 14.62 ± 1.38 cm vs. 16.46 ± 1.47 cm; neck length of 15.53 ± 2.65 cm vs. 15.35 ± 2.14 cm; horn length of 7.41 ± 4.10 cm vs. 6.59 ± 2.89 cm; chest circumference of 59.33 ± 8.18 cm vs. 67.80 ± 6.32 cm; body length of 51.45 ± 6.70 cm vs. 56.91 ± 6.54 cm; body height of 54.41 ± 7.22 cm vs. 62.01 ± 5.53 cm; tail length of 13.21 ± 2.01 cm vs. 14.77 ± 3.37 cm; hind leg length of 39.20 ± 5.26 cm vs. 47.74 ± 5.47 cm; and front leg length of 37.00 ± 8.84 cm vs. 44.63 ± 8.65 cm. This research concludes that Kacang Goats in Sidoarjo has characteristics according to SNI standard, and the morphometric size was larger in female than male goats.

A four-week feeding trial was conducted to determine the effect of liquid toxin binder supplementation on the production performance of broiler chickens. A total of 400 seven-day-old Cobb broiler chicks were randomly distributed to four treatments following a Complete Randomized Design (CRD). The treatment groups consisted of control group, continuous liquid toxin binder supplementation, and reduced feed toxin binder inclusion, continuous liquid toxin binder supplementation, and intermittent liquid toxin binder supplementation. Each treatment was replicated four times with 25 chicks per replicate. The feeding trial was conducted from the age of 8th to 35th days of age. The acidifier used was a blend of activated charcoal, selenium, vitamin E, probiotics, prebiotics, mannan oligosaccharides, and bacterial cell wall components. The results showed significant effects (P<0.05) on the broilers' body weight gain, average daily gain, and feed efficiency from 8 to 14 days of age. Income over feed, chick, and medication cost of broilers was increased with continuous supplementation of liquid toxin binder and reduced feed toxin binder. This study indicates that continuous supplementation of liquid toxin binder and reducing the feed toxin binder is economically more advantageous to use in broiler production.

Suatu penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menurunkan produksi gas metan domba melalui penambahan ekstrak daun Moringa oleifera telah dilaksanakan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), One Way Classification. Sebagai perlakuan yaitu ekstrak daun Moringa oleifera dengan taraf 0%, 0,25%, dan 0,50% dari bahan kering pakan, setiap perlakuan diulang enam kali sehingga terdapat 18-unit percobaan. Materi yang digunakan yaitu cairan rumen yang berasal dari tiga domba ekor tipis yang diambil dari Rumah Potong Hewan Banyumas Jawa Tengah segera setelah domba dipotong. Daun kelor dikeringkan dalam oven suhu 60ºC selama 2 x 24 jam, kemudian dibuat tepung dan diekstraksi menggunakan etanol. Pakan terdiri dari kosentrat dan jerami padi amoniasi dengan imbangan 60:40 berdasarkan bahan kering pakan. Konsentrat terdiri dari dua bagian dedak padi dan satu bagian bungkil kelapa. Variabel yang diukur terdiri dari jumlah protozoa, produksi gas metan, jumlah bakteri, konsentrasi N-NH3 dan sintesis protein mikroba rumen. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu jumlah protozoa, produksi gas metan terendah, dan jumlah bakteri, sintesis protein mikroba tertinggi dicapai oleh cairan rumen yang mendapat tambahan ekstrak daun Moringa oleifera 0,50% (berdasarkan BK pakan).

This study aimed to identify factors affecting the dairy agribusiness, to develop mapping for dairy agribusiness development and to determine its strategy improvement. Action research was undertaken followed by descriptive quantitative statistics analysis to present the current condition of the business. Potency and constrains of dairy farming were identified using SWOT analysis. LQ (Location Quotient) analysis followed by series of focus group discussions was conducted to develop the grand design of dairy agribusiness. Research showed that trend of the dairy cow population in Banyumas is relatively stagnant despite an increasing trend on the previous year. LQ analysis showed that sub districts suitable as the basis for dairy development are Kecamatan Baturraden, Pekuncen, Karanglewas, Kedungbanteng and Cilongok. SWOT analysis reported that dairy farming in Banyumas is at quadrant I which indicates an S-O (Strength – Opportunity) strategy focusing on utilizing the strength to maximize the opportunity existed to improve the productivity of dairy cattle.

The objective of this research was to examine the effect of the addition of Indigofera zollingeriana leaf meal (IZLM) in diets on milk production and fermentation products of adaptive Saanen goat. The research was conducted at Balai Besar Pembibitan Ternak Unggul dan Hijauan Pakan Ternak (BBPTUHPT) or or the Center for Superior Animal Breeding and Forage Animal Feed, Baturraden, Central Java. A total of 18 first lactating adaptive Saanen goats with a body weight of 34.83±7.13 and aged 20-24 months were used in this study. The goats were kept in individual pens and grouped into 6 groups based on body weight and each group were randomized to receive three kinds of concentrate substitution with IZLM of 0%, 10% and 20 % of dry matter (DM) concentrates, for A, B and C treatments, respectively. Therefore, this research was designed according to randomized block design. Dry matter intake (DMI) of each goat was 4.5% of live weight with dry matter (DM) ratio of forage and concentrate were 60:40. The variables measured were DMI, partial volatile fatty acid (VFA), energy conversion efficiency of glucose into VFA (ECEVFA), methane gas, total protozoa, milk production and the first estrus after kidding. Analysis of variance showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P <0.05) on propionate, milk production and fat, but no significant effect (P> 0.05) on consumption of DM, acetate, butyrate, EKVFA, methane gas, lactose and protein milk. Increasing the IZLM substitution level enhanced linearly (P<0.05) on production of milk and milk fat, while the propionate concentrate responded to quadratic (P<0.05). Milk production increased at IZLM level of 20%, while goat in this group resulted only 16.70% estrous after birth compared to goat group received 10% IZLM level resulting 50% of estrus goat. The results of this study concluded that the recommended level of using IZLM as a concentrate substitute was only 10%.

This study was aimed to evaluate the nutritional of content of egg and the fat profile of layers by feeding of kepok Banana flour (Musa paradisiaca formantypica) as feed supplement. A total of 200 laying 58- week-old hens were used in the study, with 5 treatments and 5 replications, each of which was filled with 8 chickens. The treatments were applied in a completely randomized design, continued with Duncan’s test. The treatments given by kepok banana flour were 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% substitution of corn flour. This research was conducted for 8 weeks. The parameters measure included egg crude protein (%), egg crude fat (%), egg white crude protein (%), egg yellow fat (%), egg cholesterol (mg/100 g), blood cholesterol (mg/dl), blood LDL cholesterol (mg/dl), and blood HDL cholesterol (mg/dl) of the laying hens. The results showed that the utilization of kepok banana flour up to 20% substitution of yellow corn had a highly significant effect on egg protein content, egg white protein, egg fat content, egg cholesterol content, chicken blood cholesterol, chicken blood HDL, chicken blood LDL and triglycerides of chicken blood. It was concluded that kepok banana flour substitution of up to 20% as a feed source can increase the nutritional content of chicken eggs and the fat profile of laying hens.

Ensuring food safety in livestock requires specific feeding technology in agriculture by using feed additives in the form of antibiotics, prebiotics, probiotics, acidifiers, hormones and enzymes. Bioactive peptides improve the health status of humans and animals. Protein hydrolysis produce peptides that are safe, quickly metabolizable, less risky for livestock products to have contaminant residue. Bioactive peptides are still bound to the original protein, so they need to be released through an enzymatic process. This research explored the potential of chicken slaughterhouse waste to produce biopeptides by hydrolyzing proteins using various proteolytic enzymes. The slaughterhouse waste included chicken feet, intestines, filleting waste and blood plasma. The proteolytic enzymes used were papain, bromelain, protease by Rhizopus oligosphorus, probiotic protease. The observed variables were dissolved protein content with and without precipitation, protein hydrolyzate content, and the degree of enzyme hydrolysis. The research was conducted using exploratory methods. The results showed that the dissolved protein content in the chicken slaughterhouse waste protein concentrate was 1,585 mg/ml (feet), 2,361 mg/ml (intestines), 1,787 (filleting waste) and 2,372 mg/ml (blood plasma). Blood plasma protein concentrate showed the highest yield among other chicken slaughterhouse waste protein concentrates, namely 0.14 mg/ml (hydrolysis of papain), 0.18 mg/ml (hydrolysis of bromelain), 0.56 mg/ml (hydrolysis of R.oligosphorus protease) 0.68 mg/ml (hydrolysis of probiotic proteases). The highest degree of hydrolysis was shown in blood plasma hydrolyzates using probiotic protease enzymes, namely 28.72%. The highest antioxidant activity was 92.92% as observed in chicken feet protein hydrolyzate which was hydrolyzed using papain. Therefore, chicken feet, intestines and fillet waste can produce protein concentrates through precipitation using ammonium sulfate, and plasma using acetone. The highest protein concentration was in blood plasma protein which also produced the highest hydrolysis from hydrolyzing blood plasma proteins with hydrolyzed probiotic protease. The highest antioxidant activity was observed in chicken feet protein hydrolyzate which was hydrolyzed using papain enzyme and incubated for 6h.

Various lamb-based processed products have become popular in many countries, including Indonesia that are well known for lamb satay, lamb curry, grilled lamb, and others. Processing lamb meat into sausages is a potential alternative to diversify lamb-based processed food. This study aims to develop a lamb-based processed product in form of emulsion sausage. We used mixed lamb meat and fat of Batur lamb (0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25%) that was coarsely ground and added with 2.0% salt, 0.5% dextrose, 0.5% garlic powder, 0.5% pepper powder, 0.3% paprika powder and 0.5% chili powder. Meat, fat, and other ingredients are mixed evenly and then put into collagen casings and measured 10-cm long. Next, the sausage was steamed for +45 minutes, then cooled and drained. We used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) assigning 6 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatments included T0: Lamb sausage without fat; T1 : Lamb sausage + 5% fat; T2 : Lamb sausage + 10% fat; T3 : Lamb sausage + 15% fat; T4 : Lamb sausage + 20% fat and T5 : Lamb sausage + 25% fat. The observed characteristics of sausages were chemical content (moisture, protein, fat, and ash content) and organoleptic properties (preferred colour, aroma, texture, taste, and acceptability). F test (anova) results showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the moisture, protein, fat, and ash content of lamb sausage, as well as on preference for colour, aroma, texture, taste, and acceptance of lamb sausage. The results showed that the addition of 10% lamb fat produced emulsion-type lamb sausage with the most optimal characteristics, containing 63.290% water, 15.245% protein, 12.518% fat and 2.536% ash. The preferred colour, aroma, texture, taste and acceptance have satisfied the neutral criteria.

The purpose of this study was to determine the growth patterns of female Kacang goats Growth Pattern of Different Body Dimensions in Female Kacang Goats. We measured 23 female goats for variables including body weight, chest circumference, shoulder height, and body length. The results showed that body weight followed the sigmoid curve pattern (S) with a regression equation y = 0.0005x3-0.0837x2 + 3.0707x + 0.119 with a coefficient of determination of 88.99%, while body size for chest circumference, body length, and shoulder height follows a polynomial pattern with regression equations y = -0.0627x2 + 3.1156x +40.333, y = - 0.033x2 + 1.6941x + 43.125, and y = -0.0418x2 + 2.1168x + 39.089, respectively and the coefficient of determination was 85.26%, 82.46%, and 68.53%, respectively. The research concluded that the growth of body dimensions in livestock has fluctuated. The increase of body dimensions in female-goat goats peaked at the age of 21-30 months, then started to decline during 31-40 months. It is correlated with the fact that age greatly affects the dimensions of the animal body. The highest coefficient determination value was observed in body weight, namely 88.89%.

This research was conducted to know the impact of methane reduction in ruminants using coconut pulp as feed substrate on the quality of goat meat. This study used coconut pulp as an antimetanogenic substrate and was added to ruminant feed. There were twenty goats aged + 1 year. The feed was given with a formulation of 60: 40% forage and concentrate in dry matter with a composition according to the needs of the goats. This research was carried out by treating coconut pulp with four levels of different treatment, namely 5, 10, 15, and 20% and compared with the treatment without using coconut pulp (0%). This experiment used a completely randomized design with four replications. The average difference of treatment was continued with the Duncan Multi Range Test (DMRT) test. The goats were kept for 60 days and they were slaughtered to measure the quality of meat. The variables measured were physical and chemical quality of goat meat. The results showed that the physical quality and the chemical quality of the meat had no significant effect. The conclusion of this research is the use of coconut pulp as an antimethanogenic substrate for goat feed can maintain the physical and chemical quality of meat and reduce meat cholesterol.

This study aimed to determine morphological, adaptability, and biomass production of Brassica rapa var. Marco planted in Karang Malang, Yogyakarta, Indonesia during the dry season. The seeds used were the introduced feed plants Brassica rapa var. Pillar from Crop Mark Seed Company New Zealand. The seeds were spread in 1 m2 plots. Each plant had 3 replicates at the end of rainy season (March) and defoliation in September. The variables observed in this study were plant growth and plant morphology. Also, biomass production, dry matter (DM), and organic matter (OM) content of each plant were statistically analyzed by independent sample t-test. Biomass production was taken from the first and second defoliation (first regrowth). The plant morphology showed that the plants could develop well. The plant growth showed that dry matter production of Brassica rapa var. Pillar was 1.15 tonnes/ha/year. The first and second defoliation of Brassica rapa var. Marco produced 1.61 tonnes/ha (DM 9.89% and OM 79.99) and 2.47 tones/ha (DM 9.17% and OM 84.82%), respectively, indicating significant difference. It can be concluded that the varieties of Brassica rapa var. Marco can thrive when planted during the dry season in Yogyakarta.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the implementation of Qanuns (local regulations) for controlling productive cattle and buffalo in Aceh Besar District. This study conducted a census of abattoir officers to 10 respondents and 10 muge (intermediaries) to collect data on the population in this study involving all groups of cattle and buffalo farmers in Aceh Besar district, namely 627. The number of samples was determined based on the Slovin formula, i.e., 93 farmers with a 5% error rate. Also, a survey was conducted on six sub- districts in Aceh Regency based on a cluster sampling system. Data processing was done by calculating the percentage of measured parameters and presented in tabular form. The results of the study indicated that the implementation of Qanun decreased the slaughter of productive female cattle and buffalo in Aceh Besar District. However, public understanding of the control of productive female cows/buffalo Qanun remained low because only 30.98% of the public were aware of the Qanun. The lack of knowledge was indicated by the high slaughter and sales of productive female cattle and buffalo at the farmer level that only decreased by around 5.84% (from 70.88% to 65.04% after the implementation of Qanun. Economic needs were the reason for the high sales of productive female cows/buffaloes (73.13%). The weak implementation of Qanun on productive cattle and buffalo was probably due to poor socialization of Qanun for controlling productive cattle and buffaloes. 79.65% of the respondent group answered that they had never received socialization on controlling productive female cattle and buffalo. However, the contributing factors to the declining slaughter and sales of productive female cattle and buffalo since the introduction of Qanun were the strict regulations at the abattoir and the level of knowledge of the abattoir staff regarding Qanun to maintain productive cattle and buffaloes.

The study was conducted to evaluate the effect, consistency, and economic viability of using different brands and dilution levels of liquid anionic surfactants to detect Mastitis in dairy cattle. Fifty-five milk samples were collected and subjected to macroscopic evaluation at a cattle farm located in Sta. Maria, Bulacan, Philippines. Milk samples were brought to the Philippine Carabao Center National Headquarters and Genepool Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija for Somatic Cell Count. The experiment used 10 treatments with 3 replications arranged in a Completely Randomized Design. The macroscopic evaluation results showed that liquid anionic surfactants at 30%-50% dilution levels could detect Mastitis in dairy cattle. This was validated by the somatic cell count results from PCC Dairy Laboratory. On the other hand, statistical analysis results revealed that the treatments and the control (commercial mastitis test) were comparable except for brand Z at a 40% dilution rate. Brand Z at 30% and 50% dilution rate were found to be consistent among other treatments in detecting Mastitis in dairy cattle. In terms of economic viability, brand X and brand Y at 30% were the cheapest and had the lowest production cost and highest percentage savings.

The present study was carried out to investigate the effect of fresh and dry eucalyptus leaves on feed intake, digestibility, rumen fermentation activity, blood serum biochemical, milk yield and composition, feed conversion and economic efficiency of lactating buffaloes. Twenty lactating multiparous Egyptian buffaloes in 3rd and 5th lactation seasons and weighed 550 kg on average were used in complete randomized design after 8 weeks of calving (peak period) and assigned into five similar groups of four buffaloes each according to milk yield and live body weight. Animals were individually fed on a basal ration (BR) consisted of 40% concentrate feed mixture (CFM), 30% fresh berseem (FB) and 30% rice straw (RS). The first group was un supplemented and served as a control group (G1). Those in the second and third groups were supplemented with 50 and 100 g of fresh eucalyptus leaves per head per day for low level (G2) and high level (G3). Animals in the fourth and fifth groups were supplemented with 15 and 30 g of dry eucalyptus leaves per head per day for low level (G4) and high level (G5). G3 recorded significantly the highest digestibility coefficients of all nutrients and feeding values followed by G2, G5 and G4, whereas control one (G1) had the lowest values. Ruminal pH value tended to decreased with Eucalyptus leaves additive. Group 3 showed significantly the highest TVFA’s and the lowest NH3-N concentration followed by G2, G5 and G4, while G1 had the opposite trend. Moreover, G3 revealed significantly the highest concentrations of total protein and globulin and the lowest urea, urea-N and creatinine and activity of SGOT and SGPT enzymes in blood serum followed by G2, G5 and G4, while G1 had reverse values. However, serum albumin concentration was nearly similar for the different groups. Group 3 recorded significantly the highest feed intake (DM, TDN and DCP), yield of actual milk and 7% FCM, milk composition (fat, protein, lactose, SNF, TS and ash) and milk constituents yield followed by G2, G5 and G4, while G1 had the lowest values. Also, G3 recorded significantly the lowest amounts of DM, TDN and DCP per 1 kg 7% FCM followed by G2, G5 and G4, while G1 had the highest amounts. At the same time, G3 recorded significantly the highest values of feed cost, output of 7% FCM yield, net revenue and economic efficiency and the lowest feed cost per kg 7% FCM followed by G2, G5 and G4, while G1 had the opposite values. In conclusion, addition of fresh eucalyptus leaves at the level of 100 g/head/day recorded the best improvements in feed intake, digestibility, rumen fermentation activity, some blood serum biochemical, milk yield and composition, feed conversion and economic efficiency of lactating buffaloes.

This study aimed primarily to investigate the effect of Zn-Proteinate (Zn-Prot) supplementation on in vitro rumen digestibility and rumen fermentation. This research used a completely randomized design with four treatments and four replicates. The experimental treatment was the supplementation of various levels of Zn-Prot (0; 12.5 ppm; 25 ppm, and 37.5 ppm) on a dry matter basis. Parameters determined were in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD), in vitro organic matter digestibility (IVOMD), partial volatile fatty acid (VFA) (acetate, propionate, and butyrate), A/P ratio, CH4, and the efficiency of the conversion hexose to VFA. Data were analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that goats fed with a diet supplemented with 25 ppm Zn-Prot had the highest IVDMD and IVOMD values. There was no significant effect on the VFA and CH4 concentrations, A/P ratio, and the efficiency of the hexose-VFA conversion within treatment groups. In conclusion, supplementing 25 ppm of Zn-Prot into the diet of dairy goat increase the dry matter and organic matter digestibility.

In general, the determination of the price of cattle is based on the condition of the cattle's body. This will result in an unsatisfactory transfer of revenue value for farmers, because the bargaining position is still weak. In addition, transactions in the marketing chain of beef products and their by-products have not yet been solidly established, so the obligations and rights of some parties are not guaranteed. The objective was to analyze the role of stakeholders in each supply chain and distribution of value chains as revenue in the marketing transactions of cattle, beef, and derivative products. The study was conducted in West Timor, which has 85.0% of the cattle population in NTT. Four sample districts (Kupang, TTS, TTU and Belu) in 8 sample sub- districts or 16 sample villages were included in the study. Respondents in marketing activities consisted of farmers, village traders, sub-district/district traders, slaughter traders, inter-island traders, by-product/waste traders, as well as beef, cowhide, bone, and fat/blood processing industries. Data collection were conducted by a questionnaire-based interview. The data were analyzed descriptively-quantitatively with a supply chain analysis model. It canbe concluded that (1) Market supply chains include cattle traders (farmers, village traders, sub-district traders, inter-island traders and slaughtering traders), as well as beef traders (fresh beef retailers, frozen beef exporting traders, and processed beef products traders); (2) The ideal model of the value chain in the form of revenue share from marketing of cattle, beef, processed beef products, by-products, and cattle waste has not been fully established in NTT; (3) The ideal model includes five marketing blocks (cattle block, beef block, processed beef block, by-product block, and waste block).
