Motivation is usually defined as an internal state that arouses, directs and maintains behavior. Psychologists studying motivation have focused on five basic questions. What choices do people make about their behavior? Why do some students focus on their home work and others watch television? How long does it take to get started? Why do some student start their homework right away, while others procrastinate (postpone)? What is the intensity or level of involvement in the chosen activity? What causes a person to persist or to give up? What is the individual thinking and feeling while engaged in the activity? Absolute answers for all these questions are one simple answer, Motivation. Motivation is essential to the operation and organizations and class room activities. The behavior is caused by the certain causes which relates to the persons need and consequences that results from acts. The sources of motivation to learn curiosity learning task relevance, goal setting motive matching and self efficacy. Motives are expressions of a person’s needs. Incentives on the other hand, are external to the person. In this paper we try to highlight some of the ways and methods to motivate children.

There has been an impressive growth in the area of Higher Education and at the University level. Student enrollment in higher education is rising as well as enrollment of women students constitutes a major rise. We live in knowledge society. Arriving at our best career option is possible, only when students gather information as possible on the educational opportunities, diverse professions, civil services etc. A modest effort is made to ponder on why competitive examination in the State of Maharashtra has not been so exhaustively treated. Though it cannot be denied that towards the 21st century a better grip on the competitive exams is attained in the State of Maharashtra more prominently in the vidharbha more specific in Nagpur, Amravati, Latur etc wherein percentage wise there is apparent rise in the number of MPSC, UPSC qualified candidates. It is much needed to view the process of development in the field of education through remarkable success in one area and glaring gaps like low levels of learning achievement and low participation of Marathi speaking population in general pursuing career in public services in the state of Maharashtra. A lot needs to be done to swipe off the lacunas of the educational system operating in Maharashtra for adding more relevant pace of learning to accelerate competitive examinations.Communication Ability of the Students- A Major Loophole in qualifying competitive examination in Maharashtra. A thorough review of existing state plans, policies, concerns and strategies towards making competitive examination more effective, impactful in Maharashtra needs to be done.

The challenges and problems faced by the individual in general are solved through serious efforts involving thinking and listening. In thinking there is mental exploration rather than motor exploration. The main objective of the study is to find out the difference and level of thinking style with respect to Gender, Medium of instruction and locality of Higher Secondary Students. The inventory used to find out the Thinking Styles of student is developed by Dr. Amala Doss. The size of the sample is 300 and it is collected from three types of schools, such as Government, Government-Aided and Private Schools. Reliability of the thinking styles inventory is 0.68 and validity 0.82. The level of thinking styles of Higher Secondary students is moderate and there is significant difference in the thinking styles based on Gender, Medium of Instruction and Locality.

The autonomy will be positively associated with value. Students who feel they have greater autonomy should find their class to be of greater value than those who feel they have less autonomy. This is because students who experience greater autonomy have selected their activities out of personal preference and want to see that their choices are valuable. As a result, students who report higher feelings of autonomy will experience their class as more valuable than individuals who report lower feelings of autonomy. As with autonomy, it is expected that mastery goals will be positively associated with value. Students with stronger mastery goals are likely to view their class as more valuable than those with weaker mastery goals because the class provides an opportunity to learn and improve. Because students with stronger mastery goals are interested in acquiring new knowledge and skills, they may view college courses as a valuable way to achieve these goals than those with weaker mastery goals. Recent research has focused on ethics education as a factor that influences ethical behavior. Conflicting results have surfaced, with disagreements on whether classroom instruction significantly affects ethical perceptions and actual behavior. If the discipline has become corrupt in practice, then it seems necessary that ethics education be built into a required college curriculum. The challenge, however, is to determine whether the students would perceive this education as beneficial and whether it would affect the behaviors of future educational leaders. Because teaching community needs such an ethical mentality in its new hires, it seems prudent to conduct a research that explores the impact of ethics education on college students’ values and integrity.

Inferiority Complex is considered to be a feeling, rather psychological feeling where a person may consider him or her inferior than others in some or the other way. These feeling which make a person consider himself inferior are actually imaginary and may not even exist. Inferiority complex if persists may actually discourage a person from gaining his objective, thus failing to achieve success in life. In a way a person with Inferiority complex may actually prefer living alone other than living with others. This made the Researcher curious to analyse the relationship between inferiority complex and Academic Achievement among Higher secondary students.
