ABSTRACT Banks is a pivot around, which the whole economy clusters and plays a significant role in the development of an economy. Fraud is a dimension of corruption, which has been enrooted in almost all economies of the world and has affected financial sector as whole, and banking sector is not an exception to this. Considering the dangerous effect of the fraud on the banking sector, the present study aims to analyze the influence of fraud on the performance of the Indian public sector banks. Here the profitability is taken in terms of Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE) and Return on Investment (ROI), which are serving as dependent variable. On the other hand, frauds are considered as Severity of Frauds (SOF) and Frequency of Frauds (FOF), which are serving as independent variable. The data of 11 years i.e. (2005-2015) is taken into account, which is collected from the India Stat. The base year for the purpose of evaluation is taken as 2005. Accordingly the following 26 public sector banks, fall under the scope of the study. For the purpose of analysis, panel least square regression is used. The collected data is analyzed with help of statistical software, E-Views. The p-value of F-Test is.000, which is less than .05, accordingly we reject the null hypothesis, that the frequency and severity of frauds in the public sector banks have no significant impact profitability. Alternatively, there is significant impact of frequency and severity of frauds, on the profitability in the Indian public sector banks.

ABSTRACT Indian Textile Industry is one of the leading textile industries in the world. The economic liberalization of Indian economy in 1991 gave the much needed thrust to the Indian textile industry, which has now successfully become one of the second largest in the world. There are many states like West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Kerala and Maharashtra which are textile hub of the Country. Among them Maharashtra is one of the giants in the textile manufacturing and also the one to owe highest industrial outputs in the textile sector. There are abundant natural resources, skilled manpower and premiere R&D centers. Additionally bulk of raw material available is all responsible for pushing down the cost of textile industry. Due to all these favorable factors, it contributes highest FDI in the country and highest contribution to India’s GDP. This industry comprises of both Public and Private sector textile units. Though it is leading textile producing state but it is struggling hard to uphold and maintain its position. Therefore, it is important to check the financial performance of Private sector textile units in Maharashtra. In the present study researcher has identified various significant ratios to evaluate financial performance of selected private textile units using descriptive statistics techniques.

ABSTRACT Resources are important for survival, growth and development.Financial resources are much more important for any individual or a household as they are important for living and to perform daily activities. Availability of the resources depends on the economic status of the family and also the location in which the family is living. This paper tried to study the availability of the financial resources in the selected rural households and assessed the gender differences existing in the households regarding the control of the financial resources. The results showed that more number of men had control over the financial resources compared to women. This showed that women were at a slightly disadvantaged position in the context of control over the financial resources mainly gained from the formal institutions like Banks.

ABSTRACT Training, like any other organizational aspects, requires commitment of organizational resources in the forms of time, energy, managerial efforts and money. Organizations therefore need to know whether an investment made on training is producing the desired results, i.e., whether training imparted is effective. The class-room learning is more of theoretical in nature. Unless theory is integrated into practice, the learning remains incomplete and static. Generally, training evaluation determines a training programme’s effectiveness in meeting its intended purpose, which mainly produces competent employees. Programme evaluation focuses on the results of the training programme and not on the process of training programme. Training programmes invariably inherit expectations in terms of demonstrated benefit to the organization. The purpose of this study is therefore to make an in depth analysis of the training programmes being practiced in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, vis-à-vis other standard organizations in Steel manufacturing business namely, SAIL, Tata Steel, and JINDAL so as to evaluate and judge their effectiveness.

The understanding of research methodology and research method has an unclear vision in publishing finance, social and economic articles. This paper explores literature to identify the philosophy behind conducting an acceptable research article for publication and or conduct a certified postgraduate research thesis. Specifically, it provides philosophical considerations of research design, research methodology and research method. From various arguments, the young researchers would be familiar with the philosophy of research design and see where a specific research philosophy would be applicable in finance, social and economics. The paper argues that no research design is superior to each other. Though not all indicators of research article acceptance and rejection are discussed in this write-up, the paper recommends a ten-point checklist for selecting a research design as a guide for conducting and submitting a research article for publication and the writing of a certified research thesis.

ABSTRACT LPG is the predominant “clean” cooking fuel in India. The LPG is being part of human life since 1970’s. The government of India with its launch of direct benefit transfer for LPG (DBTL) pahal scheme on June 1, 2013 to curb leakages and prevent black marketing by providing subsidy to consumers bank accounts. This study is conducted with the aim to know the problems and prospects of LPG subsidy delivery to consumers who opted for the subsidy. A structured questionnaire was used to collect the data and data was analysed using statistical methods like SPSS to find whether respondents have received any benefits due to the LPG subsidy.

ABSTRACT The study examined the contribution of micro financing to entrepreneurship development in Ilara-Mokin, using the Shield Microfinance bank as a case study. Microfinance Banks (MFBs) serve as an engine, through which economic industrial development subsists. The study made use of primary data, which was collected through a structured questionnaire. Seventy-four (74) questionnaires were administered to Customers of Shield microfinance bank in Ilara- MokinOndo state, via purposive sampling. Analysis of the Data gathered was carried out through the use of descriptive Statistic like tables, frequencies, charts and percentages while inferential statistical techniques such as Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and one-sample ‘T’-test were used to test the formulated hypotheses with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20.0.The findings showed that, there was a significant relationship between microfinancing and entrepreneurship development in the community; and high borrowing charges on the loan by the microfinance bank may hinder entrepreneurship development, and which may lead to inability to stimulate economic development and business sustainability in the area. However, the paper recommends that regulatory authorities and policy makers should review the microfinance regulatory framework from time to time, according to global standard in order to ensure that, loans that are made available to the entrepreneurs are at a minimal interest rate, to enhance development.

ABSTRACT Since early 1980, the existing banking services policies; procedure and system were not able to fulfill the needs and requirement of the poor people. There are 24 crore people below the poverty line in our country. Thus NABARD (national bank of rural development), DPIP (district poverty initiative project), NRLM (national rural livelihoods mission) recommended various alternative policies system, and procedure should be put in use to save the poor from the control of moneylenders. Thus, microfinance was introduced in banking sector. Micro financing is regarded as a tool of socio economic development, in developing countries like India. In India the beginning of microfinance movement could be drawn to self help group (SHG) bank linkage programme (SBLP) that started as a lead project in 1992 by NABARD. It plays an important role in poverty alleviation and economic development. Micro credit and microfinance both are different concepts. Micro credit is a small amount of money, given as by bank or any legal registered institutions, whereas microfinance include various services such as loan, saving, insurance, transfer services and microcredit. Microcredit, microfinance, micro insurance, remittances, micro saving, micro entrepreneurs, banking and non banking services provided through the micro financing. The schemes of microfinance have been found as an effective instrument for economic development. Government of India and state governments should also provide support for capacity building initiative and ensure transparency and enhance reliability through disclosure.

Change Response Profile (CRP) is an assessment that provides a sense of direction to the management, to make well-informed decisions about the vital interventions to minimize or completely eradicate resistance from the employees. The article highlights six concerns that an employee would have during the time of an organizational change, through which, 4 individual profiles have been derived. The result of this assessment is analyzed on an individual and organizational level, providing valuable inputs for the organization to create change management and engagement initiatives that align to the employees’ concerns, thus bringing a quantified return on investment. ABSTRACT It is evident that some of the difficulties that have been faced by the policy makers, especially when developing and carrying out this economic plan, have been caused by the failure to delineate and identify industrial clusters. In addition, these problems have also been compounded by the absence of knowledge about the association or otherwise between the organization of economic activity in clusters and the sizes of their constituent firms. Basically, the results will be based on the chi-squared test. Therefore, the results from the chi-squared study, which were used to calculate and examine whether the distribution of firm sizes in Scottish industrial clusters were significantly the same as the size distribution of firms in the rest of Scotland. The results of the study show that in the ICT sector, financial sector, Biotechnology sector, Oil and Gas sector and Mechanical engineering sectors show that the size distribution of firms within these industrial clusters is significantly different from the size distribution of firms in the rest of the country. However, in the Creative industrial sector the findings show that the size distribution of firms within the industrial cluster is significantly the same as the size distribution of firms in the rest of the country. The results in the creative cluster may be attributed to the fact that the cluster was started by local entrepreneurs who are living in different parts of the country and are interested in developing their own regions, or simply that the cluster is still in the introduction stage of development. The study also presented the significant finding that small establishments tend to operate outside the industrial clusters rather than within them because small establishments enter and exit clusters faster than large establishments and this is good for economic panning by regional economists.

Basically, there are three main dimensions of profitability of co-operative banks viz. Return on Investment, Return on Net Worth and Return to Business (Reserve Bank of India Guidelines). Here, it may truly be said that optimum use of available funds leads to higher efficiency and profitability. District Central Co-operative Banks (DCCBs) are very common institutions among co-operative credit institutions in India. This paper is an attempt to analyze the profitability of District Central Co-operative Banks in Haryana. The study takes into consideration a period of thirteen years, ranging from 2001-02 to 2013-14. The study covers the 19 Central Cooperative Banks in Haryana. Hence, a matter of great concern for the banking industry to save against losses in the interest of building a robust economy, not only at the grass root level, but also all along each rung of the economic ladder at district, state and national levels in their turns.

ABSTRACT The Food & Grocery Retail in India is a unique blend of available choices, traditional customs, purchaser biases, societal influences, demographic influences, travel distance involved in purchase, weekly hots / markets, etc. The vast geographical territory of distribution and lack of infrastructure for deliveries and long turnaround time further complicates the delivery mechanism. As a result of these complex yet prevalent customs large multinational retail chains specializing in food and grocery retail globally are finding the Ganges in India very tough. Almost every major player, like Flipkart, Amazon Now, the Big-Basket, and Nature Fresh have been haemorraghingand losing money on every transaction. Many startups in this area have long closed shop or curtailed their operations. Sangam Direct, ZopNow, Localbuniya, TinyOwl, Food Panda is numerous such examples. However strange it might seem, there is an Indian, Mumbai based organization essentially operating in this food and grocery home delivery business, very successfully for the past 42 years, with a loyal customer base of over 32,000 families. These families benefit from the collective buying of essential grocery items and source quality products at over 20% discount over the market prices. Further, this being a voluntary organization, ownership of the organization and success of the organization is the responsibility of every single member, which has made this model overcome the disadvantages of changing lifestyles, technological advantages of app based mobile applications, competition from modern retail formats like large departmental stores, home delivery e-commerce businesses, proliferation of the mom & pop outlets namely the Kirana stores etc. What are the strengths of this organization, what is the distribution model, what is the purchasing model and what are the innovative supply chain issues from the text of this paper. This paper also explores the additional changes required in the existing model of Mumbai Grahak Pancahayat to make it a very large and powerful conglomerate somewhat on the lines of the biggest Indian cooperative conglomerate, Anand Milk Union Limited (AMUL).

ABSTRACT Green consumerism is the practice of purchasing products and services that actively seek to minimize social or environmental damage, and the avoidance of products that have a negative impact on society or the environment. The idea of green consumerism has more relevance in this decade, for countries across the globe have paid little heed to the ethical stand point of their actions. As such they have paved the way for economic development at the cost of the environment. Green consumerism, contrary to popular beliefs is not a concept that had evolved in the 21st century, but originated way back in 1980’s in Britain. However the outreach of green consumerism and acceptance of green products is yet to proliferate to other nations. In India, the concept of green consumerism is still in its nascent stage. At a time when the whole nation and the state are reeling under a massive power crisis, it is most essential to take a concentrated effort in promoting green consumerism in India. ABSTRACT Using the Longitudinal Descriptive Research, the profile, the expectations and the actual experiences of the Board Course Students admitted in June 2012 and graduated in 2016 were described. Two sets of validated questionnaires were used, one during the first year of respondents and the other one was answered during their last term. Data gathered were statistically treated using the Percentage, Ranking, Weighted Mean (WM), and the t-test formula. Data revealed that more than 80 percent of respondents from the Bachelor in Secondary Education, major in English(BSEDEN) and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy(BSA) were living with their families while only 70 per cent of the Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEED)were also residing in their own homes, the rest were in boarding houses. Majority were from low income families, with either the mothers or the fathers were employed. Most of the parents were high school graduates with a few college and elementary school graduates respectively. Most have personal computers but a few have internet access at home. Their daily allowances ranged fromPhp21 to Php50 pesos daily provided mostly by parents. All perceived, they were ready for college life, but there was a slight difference between their computed level of intended and actual commitment to their studies. Another notable difference was in the values of their expectations andactual experiences along with the areas of college learning, access to learning resources, acquisition of new skills, social experiences, and social and study balance.

The present paper is based on primary data which is collected through intensive field work and assess the impacts of tourism on the residents of the state. The chi square method is used for the measuring the attitude of the residents for better tourism development in Jammu and Kashmir. It is found that, the overall impact is positive as increases the total income of residents, generate employment and tax revenue and infrastructural facilities need to be improved.
