REDUÇÃO DA GORDURA CORPORAL EM UMA MULHER PRATICANTE DE POWER JUMP SUPLEMENTADA COM CAFEÍNA: UM ESTUDO DE CASO

Objective: To evaluate the change in body fat in a woman, supplemented with caffeine and practitioner of Power Jump intermittent exercise in a gym. Materials and methods: We conducted a case study of a woman, 40 years, 63 kg, 1.58 meters, healthy, trained, practicing aerobic exercise modality Power Jump, 3 times a week. We collected measurements of weight, height, waist circumference and skinfold thicknesses to be calculated% fat. Were administered 3 mg / kg of caffeine one hour before exercise, 3 times a week for 30 days. Results: We found a decrease in fat percentage, body weight and waist circumference, reported an improvement in the mood for the exercises and, as a side effect of insomnia. Discussion: In agreement with this study, several authors found a decrease in body fat in athletes and exercise supplemented with caffeine, assuming factors such as the release of catecholamines, the economy of muscle glycogen, increased lipolysis, by still not well understood, including the fact that caffeine is adenosine receptor antagonist, which usually block the lipolysis. Conclusion: Thus, supplementation with 3 mg / kg of caffeine, along with the practice of intermittent exercise Power Jump, resulted positively in reducing weight, waist circumference and body fat.
