Objective: To assess and intervene regarding eating habits of obese children and adolescents with functional constipation cronk. Materials and Methods: A retrospective study with obese children and adolescents from 05 to 17 years with chronic constipation treated in three Basic Health Units of the regional west of Belo Horizonte. Weight and height were measured to check the nutritional status, data obtained from medical records. Children and adolescents with BMI ≥ 85th percentile were considered overweight and obesity. Results: Most patients were female (66.6%). Found a low consumption of cereals, roots and tubers, fruits and vegetables, since the consumption of foods rich in fat and sugar was much higher than suggested by the Brazilian Food Guide. After intervention there was an improvement of 83.3% in the context of chronic functional constipation. Discussion: The data shows that, though coming from a poor, children and adolescents showed a profile of the nutritional transition. In studies Siqueira Alves and Figueroa, 2009 in slums, detect an increase of obesity in adults, but research on childhood obesity in slums are slim. The data also suggest that the consumption of sweets, low consumption of fruits and vegetables and the absence or lack of regular physical activity were factors associated with this nutritional status. The habit of eating vegetables was associated with obesity. Conclusion: We found eating habits favoring the increase of obesity and chronic constipation in this population. Obesity is considered a major public health problem, and WHO, a global epidemic. This may be occurring by the westernization of lifestyle habits such as increased food intake due to poor habits and a decrease in daily energy expenditure due to increased sedentary lifestyle. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of individualized nutrition intervention on body composition and dietary habits of obese patient. To this end, we performed a case study,longitudinal through individualized nutritional care, which were performed anthro-pometric measurements, dietary asses-sment and intervention of eating habits. Anthropometric Measure ments were assessed with body mass, heightand waist circumference. The patient was 23 years old accompanied by initial BMI and BMI 36.9 kg / m² (obesity grade II). In the primary research was not reported medication use, no comorbidity associated with nutritional status or family history of any disease. With treatment there was a reduction of 29kg and the nutritional status has evolved into pre-obese. The net loss in inches of waist circumference was 16 cm, thus reducing risk of metabolic complications, even such a perimeter is still above recommended levels. Given the findings of this study can be concluded that changes in diet and lifestyle directly reflect the nutritional status of individuals.
