Endometriosis represents one of the most frequent benign gynaecological diseases causes of pelvic pain and infertility. The pathogenesis is related to the peritoneal implants of endometrial fragments which are generating local inflammation, cytokine production by peritoneal T and B cells, macrophages, mastocites, epithelial and mesothelial cells, on the background of an altered immune response. Even the laparoscopy is the main diagnostic tool, some seric markers (IL-6, TNF-α, hsCRP) could be used for the diagnosis and the severity assessment of this condition.
