Interpretation of the Concept “Gifted Children” in the Research Papers of Indian Scientists

Some approaches to interpretation of the concept “gifted children” by scientists of India have been considered. There have been summarized the most common approaches of Indian scholars to interpretation of the concept “gifted children”. They are humanistic (opportunity for each child to develop their abilities and talents), personality oriented (development of a child), hereditary and evolutionary (intellectual achievement of defined genetic code of a child), system conception (detection interdependent connections and interactions of system elements, identifying relationships and patterns of development of the system and providing recommendations on the optimal conditions for the development of this object), sociogenic (conditions and environmental influences on the development of skills and talents of gifted children),behavioral conception (study of psychological characteristics of a gifted child).Conceptual differences and similarities in understanding “gifted children” by Indian scientists have been defined. Some features and forms of giftedness demonstration, difficulties that gifted children face in their everyday life, some factors which influence a personality formation and intellectual ability development have been cleared up.It has been stated that Indian scientists and educationists have been looking into the phenomenon of “gifted children” in a coherent set of cooperation and interaction of all aspects, factors and elements influencing the choice of the most efficient forms and methods of work with gifted children, improving the quality of their education and training and providing them with timely counseling and nurturing
