The Psychological Features of Students' Tolerance with Different Levels of Self-Esteem

The article considers the psychological peculiarities of tolerance manifestation among student youth. Tolerance is seen as a complex personal phenomenon that affects the socialization of the individual, but depends primarily on self-awareness, self-image. The theoretical foundations of the role of tolerance in the personal and social aspect of human self-development are outlined. Personal factors of tolerance formation unite the spheres of personality settings, values and meanings. The place of emotional barriers in the manifestation of tolerance was analyzed. The phenomenon of trust, which is considered a complex of psychological manifestations, connected with the attitude to the surrounding social and objective world, influences person's tolerance thanks to the estimated criterion of "reliability".
On the basis of empirical research, the purpose of which is to reveal the peculiarities of tolerance of students with different levels of self-esteem, the regularities of tolerance manifestation were revealed. Average or high level of tolerance was confirmed in the studied students. The gender analysis of the received data was carried out, which allows us to state that there are peculiarities of manifestation and interrelation of tolerance among boys and girls.
