Bu çalışmada; petrol ithalatçısı olan OECD üyesi seçilmiş 15 ülke için, 1960-2011 döneminde ham petrol ithal fiyatlarının enflasyon üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiştir. Analizde, herhangi bir ülkede meydana gelen bir makroekonomik şokun diğer ülkeleri de etkileyeceği varsayımını yani yatay kesit bağımlılığını dikkate alan panel birim kök ve eşbütünleşme testleri uygulanmış, seriler arasında eşbütünleşme ilişkisinin varlığı tespit edilmiştir. Uzun Dönem Eşbütünleşme Katsayıları Tahmin sonuçlarına göre ham petrol ithal fiyat artışları ve ekonomik büyümenin enflasyonu arttırdığı, ekonomik büyümenin enflasyonist etkisinin, ham petrol ithal fiyatlarının etkisinden daha fazla olduğu bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır.

This study investigates the symmetric and the asymmetric nonlinear causal relationship between exchange rates and stock prices in BRICS and Turkey. To this end, the Mackey-Glass model allowing to test the symmetric and asymmetric nonlinear causality by identifying the types of feedbacks of the related variables has been employed. While the results of the symmetric nonlinear causality test present little evidence for the relationship, the asymmetric counterpart of the test indicates strong evidence for the causal relationship. As a result, these findings imply the existence of the noisy tradings and speculative behaviours in both exchange rate and stock markets.

Çevresel yönetişim politik ekoloji ve çevre politikalarında kullanılan, bireyle toplum refahı üzerinde çok yönlü etkisi olan ve çevre sorunlarına çözüm arayışlarının neticesinde ortaya çıkan bir kavramdır. Kavramın ortaya çıkması ve literatürde önem kazanmasını, “Yeni Kurumsal İktisat” yazınının kamu yönetimine yeni bir anlayış kazandıran yönetişim yaklaşımından bağımsız ele almak mümkün görünmemek-tedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı hem teorik düzlemde çevresel yönetişim kavramını tartışmak hem de ampirik olarak çevresel sorunlarda ülkelerin kurumsal yapıları arasındaki farklılıkların etkisini 2010 yılı verileriyle 172 ülke üzerinde ayırma (diskriminant) analizi ile sınamaktır. Yapılan ampirik çalışma sonucunda elde edilen bulgular, çevresel göstergelerle yönetişim değişkenleri arasında ilişki olduğunu destekler nitelik taşımaktadır.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between efficiency and the stock performance of the banking sector in Turkey. Efficiency analysis is conducted via Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA). Subsequently, the market-to-book value as a measure of stock performance is regressed against the percentage change in efficiency using panel data analysis. SFA shows that the concentration ratios and capital adequacy ratio have a positive effect on the efficiency of stocks, whereas the number of employees per unit of branches and age influence stocks negatively. The results also show that investors perceive efficiency to be a significant factor in terms of stock performance.
