This paper focuses on two very important and current appro aches to management: Total Quality Management (TQM) and Operational Risk Management (ORM). As a paradigm of business success, TQM provides the key assumptions for survival, development and success of an organisation, regardless of any limitations whatsoeve r. ORM, on the other hand, is predetermined to be an irreplaceable managerial tool that enables organisations to survive in any environment. In times of accelerated political, economic and technological changes, frequent natural disasters, acts of terroris m and other external events, a successful risk management has been gaining importance and becomes one of the key competitive advantages of an organisation. The ultimate objective is to make TQM and ORM, as two rather compatible and complementary approaches to risk management, harmonized, efficient and functional in order to get their synergistic effects in an organisation in full swing and practice. Various organisations, and thus central banks as conservative institutions, have an innovative opportunity to timely minimize their operational risk through preventive, comprehensive and synergistic operation of TQM and ORM and thus significantly contribute to improving their business performance.

Large amounts of the data gathered in o rganizations through business operations won't have utility value unless they are used in a proper way. With growing amount of data, the issue of their storage, processing and analysis is becoming more complex. The proper data usage and analysis should pro vide guidance, solutions and the basis for predictions with the objective of improving and initiating future smart decisions based on the acquired results. Data mining is the tool which exactly enables discovering of emerging patterns and important busines s information. This work presents the example of Data Mining implementation in the field of workplace health, safety and welfare at HIP - Petrohemija, in Pancevo, as well as various approaches of data analysis and processing by various authors in this field .

This paper reviews on the building contractors motivating factors on adopting the newly imposed quality assurance initiative in Malaysia's construction industry. The quality assurance initiative named Quality Assessment System in Construction (QLASSIC) - The Construction Industry Standard (CIS) - CIS 7:2006. It is introduced by the Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia (CIDB). This QLASSIC system consists of a building construction standard where all the con tractors must follow the specification, if adopting this system in their construction project. Literature commonly categorized motivation factor into two types, which are internally and externally. Both types of motivation factors are put into study in rel ated to the benefits on adopting the QLASSIC system. Further analysis will be done to determine the motives and benefits relationship behind the adoption of the QLASSIC system in the construction projects.

Taking into consideration the problems of strategy implementation, as well as problems of external adaptation and internal integration in the enterprise, through the prism of the application of advanced management concept s, primarily - the quality management system (QMS) and the balanced scorecard (BSC), leads to the opportunity to increase the integration of organizational levels of decision making and management. Understanding the support of the QMS and BSC in relationsh ip coordination - business strategy, organizational structure and culture, is reflected in the integration and process management dimensions: 1) the existence of a hierarchical order of the strategic actions (from vision and mission, to strategy and object ives, to key success factors and key performance indicators), 2) action of various coordination mechanisms, formalization and standardization of the organizational structure and process and 3) consistent understanding and values of members of the organization, which provides efficient control of behavior, coordination and implementation of policy and company goals. Implementation of concepts of QMS and BSC will provide greater compatibility and coherence of the normative, strategic and operational management, which will lead to more successful business, enterprise development and the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
