Services represent a most important and dynamic frontier of international trade and investment. The steady expansion of trade in services and its relative resilience in the recent crisis, coupled with its key role in global production networks and its increasing potential in attracting investment provides new opportunities for countries to grow their economies and integrate into the global economy. Drawing on insights from current literature and relying on balance of payments and trade in value-added statistics, this paper examines the main developments shaping Romania’s services trade over the post-crisis years. Its aim is to assess whether the country is grabbing the new opportunities arising from services globalization. It finds that following the dramatic crisis-induced decline in the value and performance of Romania’s services trade, the outlook is now radically improving as evidenced by the strongly rebounding services flows and net exports. Nonetheless, the country’s integration into the global economy through services flows continues to remain below its potential.

The world markets of oil crops products have been in good position during 2013/2014 season, with increased supply, reflecting a more rapid increase of world production in comparison with world demand as well as increased stocks, both in case of the oilseeds and vegetable oils and protein meals. International prices as averages for the first half of the season have moved on a generally downward trend.As to the future evolution on these markets, the actual estimates on the supply/demand balance suggest, at least on short term, and in the absence of unforeseen factors, the continuation of present trends în the movement of prices.

This paper tries to analyse some important and present aspects of the European Union situation in the innovation activity, relatively to its main competitors on the global market: USA, Japan and China. The study shows that, although EU has been for many years behind USA and Japan and before China, from the point of view of innovation performances, the reflection of this situation in the international trade with high-tech products - one of the most significant indicators for a country or group of countries competitiveness on the international market – the report is reversed, China holding the first place and EU the second one (a good position if we consider the recent years crisis of some Union Member States). This article’s author wants to clarify most concisely the cause of this evolution, as well as the conclusions detached from the interaction of the two economic fields: innovation (and of course research and development) and high-tech products trade (especially export).

Since its creation, through the establishment in 1958 of the two sectoral funds - European Social Fund (ESF) and the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund (EAGGF), Cohesion Policy has acted as a payment mechanism for redistribution of budgetary contributions between Member States in order to reduce regional development disparities between them. The main items discussed in this article are the objectives and mechanisms of the Cohesion Policy, the evolution of budget allocations and main pillars of this common policy reform. Our paper also proposes a comparative analysis between the objectives of the new funding framework of the Cohesion Policy for the period 2014 - 2020 and the annual allocations in 2007-2013, with a focus on "lessons learned" and the congruence of this common policy objectives to those of Europe 2020 Strategy.

On May 29, 2014, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan signed the Treaty for the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), the organization will operate from 1 January 2015. Creation of the Eurasian Economic Union will allow a high level of integration. The three countries have assumed such obligations to guarantee the free movement of goods, services, capital, labor, and the creation of common policies in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture and transport.

Since the fall of the communist regime in the early 1990s, the Central and South Eastern European countries (CEE) have gone through several phases of transition, having a mail goal the liberalization of their economies. Experiences taken from centralized planned economy to a market economy, economists have offered an opportunity to study both theoretically and in practical point of view. The economists are still debating various strategies and their economic transition, because the problems of transition in CEE countries are not fully resolved. The purpose of this article was the theoretical and empirical analysis of the privatization of the industry of Central and Eastern Europe, the current European Union Member States and the main economic indicators are built into the process, to identify structural weaknesses in the economies of emerging post communist.
