The research objective was to determine the differences in the representation of students brain memory in multiple
choice questions and essays that were often used in the evaluation process. The research method is a quasi
experiment. Testing for normality with the Chi Square test. Testing the normality of the experimental group
????????????????????????2 = 5,610 ≤ ????????????????????????2 = 11,070, then the data were normally distributed. Testing for normality of the control
group ????????????????????????2 = 10,665 ≤ ????????????????????????2 = 11,070, the data were normally distributed. Homogeneity test, F test, ????????????????????????= 1,191 ≤ ???????????????????????? = 2,17, then the data is homogeneous. Hypothesis testing using the t-test, obtained ???????????????????????? = 2,835 dan ???????????????????????? = 1,684 significance level 5% degrees of freedom (db = 38) which means tcount> ttable (2.832>1.684), then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be concluded that there are differences in form representation of students brain memory in essay type and multiple choice questions on understanding biological metacognition. The results of data analysis provide information for the development of future essay assessments, and recommend that essay tests have a larger percentage in the evaluation.
