The business environment in India is getting highly competitive day by day and unstable global economy is adding another flavour on it. In this situation, many firms are even finding it difficult to survive and few businesses left with no choice then to fold up due to the limitation they have in facing regular challenges of the business activities. In this highly competitive environment, the survivor is the one who look beyond its traditional methods of retaining its precious customers and constantly reviewing its strategies to become more consumers centric. Consumer retention is considered as one of the major relationship marketing concepts concerned with developing and maintaining a long-term consumer-firm relationship. The importance of customer retention has increased by many folds since the majority of firms started losing their consumers due various reasons and knowing the fact that acquiring new consumers is a costly affair of. Thus, the model of competition has shifted from acquiring new consumers to retaining the existing one and moreover luring them away from rival companies. In accordance with the above mentioned statements, this study focus on developing a theoretical framework for consumer retention strategies for telecom service industry in India.

The entry of new private sector banks enhances the operational efficiency and competitiveness in Indian banking industry. The new private sector banks have introduced new and innovative services and products in order to capture the high market share. This changes the working pattern of the women employees in banking sector. The findings shows that work life balance policies, work load, organizational support and financial support are determinants of work life balance of women employees in new private sector banks. The results indicate that there is significant difference between socio-economic status of women employees and determinants of work life balance in new private sector banks. The results also imply that work life balance policies, organizational support, financial support and work load are significantly and positively influencing the job satisfaction of women employees in new private sector banks. The new private sector banks should offer work-family support programmes namely child care support and flexi working timings to reduce employee’s stress and facilitate to manage family and work effectively. In addition, new private banks must implement policies of prevention of sexual harassment, annual health checkups and maternity leave effectively

Introduction: While ERP has proved its worth in organizations, its implementation remains a difficult exercise. Change management (CM) is one of the most widely accepted critical success factors for ERP Implementation. This paper aims to identify the techniques and tactics that could be specifically used to successfully execute a CM program. Methods: A qualitative descriptive methodology is employed to explore the specific CM practices that can be used in an ERP implementation and try to identify potential techniques. The aim is to get inputs from a number of knowledgeable respondents through semi-structured interviews as to what different techniques and strategies were used in the ERP implementation exercises (that they were involved in) to ensure successful CM. Results: The identified techniques were grouped under the following loosely adhering themes: High Level activities in CM, ERP System Deployment Practices, Project Organization Practices and Organizational CM Practices. Emphasis has been given on techniques that contribute to success in CM endeavours. The techniques have been looked up in the existing literature and elaborated. Conclusion: This study attempts to delve deeper into the idea of CM and what it involves in the context of ERP implementation. This will help practitioners to better grasp the different aspects of CM process and be useful in more efficient control of the same. This is not a complete handbook of all the techniques available, but seeks to achieve some kind of unanimity over how CM should actually be handled during ERP implementation.

Banks are basically service rendering institutions. India has an extensive banking network in both urban and rural areas. The Indian banking sector through dominated by the public sector banks is also the home of numerous private and foreign banks. The city Madurai popularly known as ‘Temple City’ and ‘Business Centre’ of south India has the presence of wider network of banks. Apart from the functioning of a large number of branches of the various nationalized banks the private sector banks are also equally contributing towards satisfying the banking needs of the people in Madurai City. Hence, the present study is done to find out the level of satisfaction derived by the customers on the service rendered by the various private sector banks in Madurai City and the factors that influence the same. The study is based on primary data. Data are collected through a well-structured questionnaire. The respondents were drawn by means of convenient sampling method. To find out the satisfaction level Chisquare test was employed. Finally the study has a number of suggestions to the banks in order to raise the satisfaction level of the customers.

The Indian stock market has witnessed several peaks and troughs in the span of last few years. It has now become a serious concern among the economists, traders and policy developers to deal with such volatility. The stock market volatility impacts over the economic stability of the country. So it is necessary to understand the movement of stock market. Several researches in this field deals with different opinion amongst which random walk theory and efficient market theory is of great apprehension. In the world of speculation, is the market efficient enough to reflect the price movement? This paper is an attempt to test the market efficiency theoretically and empirically with respect to the publicly or privately available information and simultaneously effort has been made whether, the prices can be predicted through past data. The major finding using 14 years monthly average data of BSE Sensex ranging from January 2000 to May 2014, via autocorrelation test and student t test (whether public news have any impact over the stock price) after applying unit root test reveals that the stock prices are random in nature. The past data set has no reflection over the security prices in the capital market. Simultaneously the public news too has no significant impact over the security prices and thereby the market becomes inefficient in terms of available information.

The working class population in Indian society has been largely centred on the male members of the group. Being dominantly patriarchal in nature, Indian social systems promote the ascendancy of the male over the female in all spheres of personal and professional life and the working class environment has traditionally been no exception to this rule. Women, both married and unmarried, have been confined to homes while men have gone to factories and institutions to earn a means of sustenance for the entire family. As a result, the structures in the workplace have also remained constant with men dealing with men in most factories. This paper examines the manner in which a certain alteration in the gender ratio of an organisation can bring about positive change in terms of productivity, behaviours, attitudes and efficiency on the shop floor. This paper studies one manufacturing organisation in the Malwa region in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India to highlight these changes through the manner in which the organisation implements this change.

Background & objectives: Service Quality Evaluation has become a vital aspect of medical care. Hospitals have expanded in terms of availability of specialties, improved technologies, facilities and increased competition and the expectations of patients and their relatives have increased many fold. The patients and their relatives coming to the hospital not only expect world-class treatment but also other facilities to make their stay comfortable in the hospital. Knowledge of expectation combined with understanding of perceived service quality facilitates designing and implementing programs to satisfy patients. The study was conducted with an objective of measuring service quality of IPD patients in a private hospital of Indore District of Madhya Pradesh. Methods: Cross-sectional study was conducted by collecting primary data from 422 IPD patients on the day of discharge using SERVQUAL questionnaire developed by Parasuraman et al. Results: As per the results of the study the major reason of choosing the hospital for treatment was good word-of-mouth from old patients and from senior consultants, infrastructure, proximity of hospital and expert clinical and non-clinical supportive staff. It was found that patients were highly satisfied with the basic amenities, behavior of doctors and staff of the hospital, timely medication, friendly hospital procedures and transparent billing system. Interpretation & Conclusions: Research findings discussed demonstrate that the more a patient is satisfied the more he/she is expected to recommend the hospital to other patients who need healthcare services. Therefore hospitals should implement patient satisfaction measurement as a quality indicator and thereby actively seek to improve the services provided. Objective: The main objective of the study is to measure the service quality of IPD (Inpatient Department) patients in a private hospital of Indore District of Madhya Pradesh.
