Mobility Management Scheme Based on Smart Buffering for Vehicular Networks

Mobility management in vehicular networks is our case study is to provide internet connectivity without any interruption and with no packet loss, even in V2I (Vehicular to Infrastructure) or V2V (Vehicular to Vehicular) communications. Handover delay is one of critical parameters in QoS measurements in addition to packet loss, throughput and data transmission delay. In this paper, the idea of Smart Buffering is proposed to enhance HI-NEMO protocol. In this extension of NEMO, the combining cross-layer mechanism and resource allocation have been performed. It is used to reduce latency and packet loss during handovers with high performance in its proactive mode. However, it is noticed that packets loss exists in its reactive mode during the period of link down in small coverage cell radius of base station during vehicle movement. Smart Buffering mechanism mostly prevents packet loss by buffering lost candidate packets in Root FMA (Foreign Mobile Agent), forwarding and reordering it in new FMA. It also performs redundant packet removing in Root FMA. Mathematical analysis proves that Enhanced HI-NEMO protocol prevents packet loss during reactive handover and gives optimal throughput with supporting high velocity vehicles.

MANETs are very advantageous and fruitful when there is no infrastructure or has been destroyed due to some reasons like earthquake, floods and so on. Data communication in MANETs are very challenging issue due to threats like limited battery power, limited bandwidth, mobility, routing and QoS and so on. Due to these challenges and scarcity of resources in MANETs, it’s very difficult to achieve high quality of service. QAODV, AODV, OLSR, DSDV and ZRP and so on, are some of very popular routing protocols for MANETs. Minimum no. of hops is the route selection criteria used by most of the routing protocols. This makes it necessary to consider QoS parameters to the routing protocols. Above mentioned protocols are not pure QoS routing protocol and insufficient to achieve high Qos because they do not consider parameters which will affect the QoS, Instead they only consider hop count as a route selection criteria. We present a new QoS based routing algorithm AODV-QSRP (AODV based QoS Routing Protocol) for Mobile Adhoc Netwok. AODV-QSRP is based on existing AODV and is reactive (On-Demand) in nature. AODV-QSRP attempts to provide high QoS for the real time applications while considering the various important QoS parameters like Bandwidth, Delay, Link Quality and Battery power for route selection. We have simulated and compared the performance of AODV-QSRP with QAODV, AODV, OLSR, DSDV and ZRP. To implement and simulating the result Network Simulator-2 (NS-2.32) on Fedora platform is used, which is an event driven and real-time simulator.

Importance of information security systems is increasing in parallel with the rapid developments in information technology. The development of new technologies brings new security weaknesses in corporate and personal meaning can lead to unavoidable losses. For this reason, many researches have been performed in order to ensure the security of information systems. In today's world, the concept of information has been moved to the digital size from conventional size. Protection of the data stored in the digital archive and is easily accessibility at any time have become a quite important phenomenon. In this concept, intrusion detection and prevention systems as security tools are widely used today. In this paper, a hybrid real time intrusion and prevention system approach has been proposed for web applications security. The proposed system uses rule-based misuse detection and anomaly detection as intrusion detection method and uses network packets as data source. The system is real-timed with accordance to data process time, centralized with accordance to architecture, and server-based with accordance to system it protects. The developed system has been tested on the current web attacks determined by OWASP (The Open Web Application Security Project) and provides a very high success rate.
