In the present analysis we will adopt the perspective of leisure time as time segment with a relative autonomy, with an important role in the quality of life. Leisure time is equally a result of the processing of other segments of life and a determining factor of transformation of the concept about life, once this segment was "discovered" and began to be consumed according to the preferences and needs of everyone, after the release of any commitment. The role of leisure in the quality of life is subordinate to the importance given to it in the relation to the nature, to the size and difficulty of the professional obligations, to the way in which the individuals deal with them and with the need felt more or less intensely to have leisure time. But the role in quality of life depends on the system of general and individual values, which set up life styles in different social contexts.

Considerations on the exceptionally rainy year 2014 in the south-west of Romania

The article analyzes the exceptionally rainy year 2014 in the south-west of Romania, year in which many rainfall records exceeded, for the whole series of meteorological observations at the meteorological stations in Oltenia. The year was marked by 23 excessively rainy periods where there were floods because of the exceptional amounts of precipitations. There were 21 rainfall records, far exceeding the wettest year 2005. Compared to the year 2005, floods were not so catastrofal due to the wide distribution of these rainfall throughout the year. Like 2005, the year 2014 was globally classified as the hottest year, and in Romania, like in most Europe, it was a normal warm year, but exceptionally rainy.

In Romania, the transition to a market economy led to restructuring in all fields, triggering multiple socio-economic implications, political and cultural. The stress of urban life has increased, there was a high degree of urbanization and environmental pollution and reduced working week. These changes have affected tourism, holiday destinations for changes to pro-active, run in nature, with positive implications and deep rural tourism activity. Temporary return to nature, the simple way of life, is a motivation for all age groups, sex, socio-professional, representing the result of the tendency of conservation, health, physical and spiritual. Valences rural environment is a big advantage that reaches more profound connotations due to context menus in the current social and economic life at national and international level. These arguments are studying the circumstances prevailing trends in rural tourism activity in Romania, which are described and analyzed in this paper based on the data taken from TEMPO database of the National Institute of Statistics.

Food Purchase Behaviors for Low, Medium and High Income Families

Food consumption and purchasing behavior depend on different factors like income level, access to markets, consume patterns, etc. The paper aims to identify, on different levels of family’s income, the frequency of acquiring foods and the sources for purchasing the main food products. We applied a questionnaire to 80 household from Braila County and these were completed by the person which make the majority of shopping activities inside family. To emphasize our results we processed the collected data with SPSS by using descriptive statistic method. Research findings indicate the importance of self-consumption for urban low income level families and the importance of fresh and healthy foods for families with higher income.

The article discusses the importance of knowing the history behind the buildings of the historical center of Bucharest Municipality, for proper management of the space for future generations. The historical component of buildings represents one of the main elements of information on urban development, implicitly its processes. The administration of historic buildings and the built environment is based on collecting, analyzing and interpreting information, both using documents (books, letters, plans, maps, and images) and existing buildings. Although this historical characterization is not a solution itself, it may represent an early stage of a development plan or project, especially when it is intended the image of buildings and adaptability in the current context. Each building from the historical centre of Bucharest stores information about the stages that were followed, the factors that influenced changes and also about the human component, all of those determining the current status and the image that is transmitted in the future. Important notes of the time on the early stage of the city were made by foreign travelers, providing an external view of the place.

Regardless of their type, public policies and strategies are developed in relation to a defined geographic space and they result in changes visible in territory. In this context, the effectiveness of public strategies is conditioned by the access of decision makers to analysis tools able to simulate the impact of political decisions. These tools must be able to transpose coherently and efficiently in the spatial-temporal context the legislative decisions. The main recipient of any public strategy or policy is the citizen who uses or is directly impacted by the effects of decisions taken at central level. At the same time, the society is the tool that allows the most objective measurement for strategy efficiency by using life quality indicators. Unfortunately, any such assessment can only be done in the period following strategy application, a moment when any methodology or execution correction will fail to redress the impact already in effect. This outlines both the principles that are the foundation of this research as well as the methods which can be used to evaluate the efficiency of this study.

Water is an important resource for all living and non-living beings. However, there is a shortage of fresh water nowadays. This situation is related to various factors. One of these factors is water pollution. Water pollution occurs in Malacca state. Specifically, it affects the Malacca River. The main cause of water pollution is factories. If factories continue their activities, the environment will be harmed. Action is needed to stop this pollution before it destroys the environment. This research will explore the level of awareness of citizens in regards to water pollution. This research is divided into three parts. Part A analyzes the respondents’ biodata. Part B investigates citizens’ perceptions of river ecology. Part C describes citizens’ perceptions of water pollution in the river. This study is a starting point meant to discover how great of a threat citizens view water pollution. Malaccan citizens have the right to voice their opinions regarding the water pollution. Their knowledge of the ecosystem showed that they still love the environment. They are embedded with moral and ethical values that dispose them towards caring about the environment. They know that they still have a responsibility to the environment. The people realized they can protect the environment from destruction. Malaccan citizens hope that by taking early steps, they can stop the polluting manufacturing activities.
