Wetland "Shichengskoe" is a large object situated in the Syamzha District, Vologda Region. This wetland includes Shichengskoe mire (15.9 thnd ha), lakes Shichengskoe (1.02 thnd ha), Plakunovskoe and Polyanok (4 and 3.7 ha, respectively), small rivers Shichenga, Sondushka, Glukhaya Sondushka, and more than 20 streams. For the first time checklist of vascular plants of Shichengskoe wetland is presented (254 speces from 145 genera and 64 families). Particular emphasis was placed on the analysis of partial flora, mire waterbodies, especially. The checklist contains 38 rare species included in the Second Edition of Red Data Book of Vologda Region, 14 of which are protected species: Saxifraga hirculus (1/CR); Lycopodiella inundata (1/EN) и Hammarbya paludosa (2/EN); Baeothryon alpinum, Carex serotina, Dactylorhiza baltica, Drosera anglica, Rhynchospora alba, Utricularia minor (3/NT); Carex pseudocyperus, Ligularia sibirica, Malaxis monophyllos, Petasites frigidus (3/LC); Oxycoccus microcarpus (4/DD). Another 24 species are included in Vologda Region List of the the plant kingdom objects requiring biological control. Two thirds of protected species (25 taxa) belong to mire florocoenotic complex. Considering that 11 protected species were found beyond the current bounds of the regional landscape reserve "Shichengskiy", its limits could be expanded by including the eastern part of the mire (around lakes Polyanok and Plakunovskoe).

The geobotanic characteristics of rare communities of Koch pine (Pinus kochiana Klotzsch. ex C.Koch) with the participation of yew (Taxus baccata L.) is presented. Rare pine forest communities were studied in the gorges of the ridge Arzhuta in Inland Mountain Daghestan, on the Eastern border of Koch pine area. The three new syntaxa were described: 2 subassociations (Pinetum kochianae oxalidoso-hylocomiosum subass. taxosum, Pinetum kochianae caricosum caryophylleae subass. taxosum) and 1 variant: Pinetum kochianae brachypodiosum subass. pteridosum taurici var. Taxus baccata). The floristic composition, community structure of the Koch pine forests with the yew undergrowth are characterized. Their ecology and succession status are discussed. Recommendations on the rare Koch pine communi-ties’ protection are given.

The article presents data on the structure of natural populations of Centaurea ruthenica and C. sumensis. Many populations of the species in Samara region – mature or aging, are not complete, with a high share of the generative individuals and middle-of vitality.
