Devlet ve Vakıf Üniversitelerinin sayısında meydana gelen hızlı artışla birlikte üniversitelerdeki boş kontenjanların artması üniversiteleri farkındalık sağlayacak çalışmalara yöneltmektedir. Bu çalışmalardan biri de şüphesiz sosyal medya araçlarının iletişim ve farkındalık sağlayacak bir mecra olarak kullanılmasıdır. Farkındalık sağlayan üniversitelerin rakip üniversiteler karşısında bir adım öne geçeceği unutulmamalıdır. Üniversitelerin yararlandıkları sosyal medya kanallarının öğrenciler tarafından tercih dönemlerinde ne kadar kullanıldığı son derece önemli olmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı öğrencilerin üniversite tercih dönemlerinde yararlandıkları bilgi kaynaklarının tespit edilmesi ve bu kaynaklar arasında sosyal medyanın yerini ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla 2013-2014 akademik yılında Kastamonu Üniversitesi’ni tercih eden ve kolayda örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenmiş 398 1. Sınıf öğrencisi üzerinde araştırma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda katılımcıların üniversite tercih döneminde en fazla internetteki forum ve gruplardaki öğrenci yorumlarından yararlandıkları, bilgi kaynağı olarak Üniversitelerin resmi web sayfaları ile Facebook sayfalarından da aynı oranda yararlandıkları ortaya çıkmıştır.

The purpose of this study is to examine speaking strategies of third year students in the department of Physiotherapy and Nutrition who are studying ESP (English for Specific Purpose) and help increase their speaking ability in ESP classes by using drama. It was conducted to look into the effects of drama process on the speaking abilities and strategies of ESP students in Health Science School at Hasan Kalyoncu University. It was designed as a both qualitative and quantitative method. The data was collected through percentages as a direct proportion and the content analysis by means of rubrics and reflection sheets. With the help of those instruments, the effectiveness of drama so as to promote speaking strategies of students in ESP was tested. The other aim of the study is to find out if students' speaking skill could be improved through drama to examine possible ways to promote speaking strategies of ESP students via drama and the last aim is to find out students' attitudes towards drama. In the light of the data analysis, the result and the analysis of the reflection sheets, drama performance rubrics revealed that participants succeeded in promoting their speaking strategies.

Bu çalışma post bürokrasiyle demokrasinin ilişkisini incelemeyi hedefler. Demokrasi ile bürokrasinin arasındaki temas ne düzeydedir ve post bürokrasi bu ilişkiyi nasıl etkileyecektir? Bunu yaparken de bürokrasi, postmodernizm ve yönetim kavramları incelenmiş ve yeni yönetim anlayışıyla birlikte değişen bürokratik yapı da analiz edilmiştir. Postbürokrasi sayesinde bürokrasinin hantal yapısı değiştirilebilir ve devlet yönetiminde maksimum fayda minimum maliyet analizi yapılabilir. Halkın egemenlik gücüne sahip olduğu bir yönetim şekli olan demokrasi, bürokratik yapı ile siyasal egemenlik mücadelesine girmiştir. Bürokrasi; gücü sınırlandırıldığı, şeffaf, hesap verebilir ve birey odaklı bir hale getirildiği yani postbürokrasiye dönüştüğü sürece demokrasinin gelişimine ve işleyişine fayda sağlayacaktır.

Bu çalışmada, Avrupa Birliği üyesi Yunanistan’ın 2008 yılında başlayan dünya finansal krizi sonrasında yaşadığı ekonomik sorunlar ele alınarak değerlendirilecektir. Öncelikle Avrupa Para Birliği (APB) ve Avrupa Merkez Bankası’nın (AMB) uyguladıkları politikalar ve ekonomi politikaları ilkeleri çerçevesinde para birliğine dâhil olan farklı ekonomik gelişmişlik düzeyindeki ülkelerin temel ekonomik göstergeleri üzerinde ne gibi etkileri olabileceğine dair teorik bir çerçeve çizilecektir. Ardından bu yapı içerisinde yer alan ülkelerden Yunanistan’ın, birliğe hangi ekonomik koşullar ve yapı altında girdiği, sonrasında ise ne tür politikalar takip ederek “Avro Bölgesi”nden çıkma alternatiflerinin bile dile getirildiği duruma nasıl geldiği tarihsel olarak incelenecektir. Krizi ortaya çıkaran temel dinamiklerin Yunanistan’a özgü siyaset yapma biçimi, ekonomi üzerinde etkili olan hâkim grupların davranışları, ekonomik altyapı yetersizlikleri gibi içsel nedenlerden mi yoksa AMB politikaları gibi dış dinamikler nedeniyle mi geliştiği yönündeki tartışmalar değerlendirilerek analiz edilecektir.

This study discusses the life in the neighbourhoods stuck between the gated communities recently built in the district of Sancaktepe, in terms of neighbourliness and social networks in the neighbourhood. In this context, in-depth interviews were conducted with the residents of the neighbourhoods about their lives, experiences, relations, urban structure, urban transformation and the rise of gated communities. All interviewees stated that they were generally content with where they lived, and, for most of them, the key factor for this satisfaction was the neighbourly relations. Contrary to the prevalent opinion that urbanization weakens the neighbourly relations, the neighbourhood residents emphasized the intensiveness of the neighbourly relations and its determining role in their lives, and they distinctly distinguished themselves from those living in the gated communities by virtue of these relations.

Bir değişim oranı olan Satın Alma Gücü Paritesi (SGP) ülkeler arasındaki fiyat farklılıklarını ortadan kaldırarak, söz konusu ülkelerin para birimlerinin satın alma gücünü eşitlemekte ve uluslararası gelişmişlik karşılaştırmalarında önemli bir ölçüt olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. SGP teorisi uzun dönemde reel döviz kurunun sabit olduğu varsayımına dayanmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, 1995-2012 döneminde G7 olarak tanımlanan ülkelerde SGP teorisinin geçerliliğinin incelenmesidir. Bu bağlamda, panel veri analizi kapsamında reel döviz kuru serisinin durağanlığı hem birinci nesil hem de ikinci nesil birim kök testleri ile sınanmıştır. Yapılan analiz sonucunda; birinci nesil panel birim kök testi ile reel döviz kurunda birim kökün olmadığı yönünde kanıtlar elde edilirken, ikinci nesil birim kök testleri ile serinin birim kök içerdiği diğer bir ifade ile G7 ülkelerinde SGP teorisinin geçerli olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

In establishing their new nation-state by waging war against the occupant Western countries during the aftermath of the World War I, the secular nationalist cadres who were educated in the Western-modern schools of the semi-colonial Ottoman State implemented a modernization project that acknowledged the superiority of Western values in order to “civilize” the society that they were attempting to build. These secular nationalist cadres gained legitimacy via running a national Independence battle against the colonialist imperialist powers, and they pursued a internal colonialism and local orientalism approach excluding the various social groups that existed in the periphery of their own nation-state from the political, cultural, social, and economic fields. However, different social groups resisted against this civilization project in various forms from the very beginning, and brought to power the “Islamist” Welfare Party (RP) in 1996 and then Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in 2002. As a response to this development, RP was discredited in the political and social arena and finally overthrown by a ‘post-modern coup d’état”, and AK Party faced a closure trail and the military e-memorandum. This article shall employ a post-colonial perspective to carry out a sociological discussion of the processes that fostered the mental codes of these “secular nationalist cadres” that were determined to modernize their nation-state at any cost.

Since its foundation in XX. century, EU has remarkably developed within time and has reached today's status. It has always been one of the basic aims of EU to develop several mechanisms in order to help financially to its members and to the countries which are not members too for their easy integration to the Union. The main target of EU financial aids is to generally ensure the sustainable development of economic activities of member countries in conformity with the accepted economic policies of EU and to increase the harmony between EU and non-member countries. Therefore this study is intended to explain the impact of European Union’s fiscal aids on member or non-member countries.
