The journal justifies relevant issues of updating professional and pre-tertiary professional higher
education, including the following: searching for new approaches to elaborating professional qualifications, developing professional standards, using tools of public-private partnership, creating virtual educational space in educational institutions, assuring the quality of future specialists' professional training, improving the professional development of teachers, managing educational institutions as project-oriented organizations. It reveals certain practical aspects of optimizing distance learning, using network-based educational and methodical complexes in the educational process, validating test tasks, cultivating moral and volitional qualities in students, developing their entrepreneurial, career, intercultural and methodical competences. Also, it describes some trends in transformational changes in professional education during the years of Ukraine's independence.
