Today, in a permanent changing society, the introduction of new innovative technologies, products and processes represents the fundamental element for
restarting and development of new economic activities, in the conditions of factors action specific to market economy and concurrency mechanisms.
Considered as a new economy of countries in transition, the cognitive and
innovative processes society is determinant for future local and regional economies restarting, being the base of development and utilization
of other resources, being able to replace them or making them more efficient.
Within this paper is presented the role of knowledge and innovation to IMM
development in the field of new technologies transfer and promotion of competitive products on market economy.
