This is an assistance convergent research, which aimed to investigate the effects of child’s hospitalization in the companion family life. It was performed in a hospital located in Goiania-GO, Brazil, where parents of hospitalized children participated in a support group. Data collection occurred from 2010 February to July, through the recording and transcription of group sessions; to analyze the facts and phenomena experienced in the group, it was used the thematic analysis. The results provide subsidies for health professionals that allow them to understand how complex is the experience of “having” and “live” with a family child in situation of illness and hospitalization. We conclude that this experience affects family relationships, mental and physical health, and the maintenance of the social networking of the companion. This is a case study with a qualitative approach, carried out between February and November 2010 with 10 women, mean age of 34 years old, users of this Billings Ovulation Method (MOB) for over than two years, with the objective of understand the experience of women by choosing the MOB. Data was obtained from interviews, and analyzed through content analysis technique. The categories of analysis showed that the reasons for the choices of the MOB were: religion; natural method, and benefits of self-knowledge. It was concluded that women show confidence in carrying out the method, that it brings benefits for users and that there is a need for professional guidance for its correct practice. The study aimed to analyze the introduction of sexual and reproductive health concepts in the curriculums of nursing course of the Federal University of Bahia, from 1972 to 2006. It was carried out through qualitative approach, documentary research and semi-structured interview with professors who work exclusively for the institution. The results showed that, initially, the academic disciplines were exclusively related to biological aspects of women’s health, focusing only on the maternal condition. The concepts of sexual and reproductive health in the female perspective were introduced later, in response to political demands for the creation of labor force in the field of healthcare with commitment to women’s social condition. It was concluded that the curriculums evolved with the introduction of such concepts, especially from the decade of 1990’s on. Key words: Nursing; Teaching; Sexual and Reproductive Health.

This study aimed to understand how the devices of reception, bonding and co-responsibility have been used in the construction of care to patients with high blood pressure. Qualitative research conducted in Fortaleza, in a Family Health Center (FHC), which has, as participants, nine health workers and ten patients. For the collection of information it was used semi-structured interviews and systematic observation. The analysis of findings was performed through the thematic categorical analysis. The results showed that the reception is used with a way to ensure access for users with hypertension, as a step in the work process (screening) and as intercessory relationship between subjects. It was observed the construction of bonding, as well as patients reported satisfaction with the service. The clinical responsibility exists, yet there is no o-responsibility, not helping in the production of patient’s autonomy in the health, disease and care. It is of mayor importance the use of these soft technologies, ensuring, monitoring and preventing possible complications. Key words: Care Health; Reception; High Blood Pressure.

This is an interpretative and comprehensive study that aimed to investigate ways of coping used by patients with phobic-anxious disorders, attended at the Centro de Atenção Psicossocial I, of the municipality of Queimadas, state of Paraíba, Brazil, in the period from October to December 2010. The empirical data were obtained through interviews and subjected to content analysis. From this material were extracted the main themes that formed the thematic category called CAPS I as a space to expression of subjectivity, and the thematic axis: Recognition of the illness; Loneliness and isolation; and Family as the primary point of support. The results showed that, while adhering to treatment, users began to recover their self-esteem, strengthen bonds and to deal with the bio psychosocial symptoms. We emphasize the importance of the affective dimension in the encounter between professionals, patients and families. It can be concluded that the humanized practice ensures and stimulates the integration between the work processes and the users’ life projects. To evaluate the performance that nursing teachers assigned to themselves in the skills to develop educational programs for adults, was the aim of this descriptive, comparative, cross-sectional study, performed with 226 teachers of undergraduate nursing courses from Sao Paulo. Data were collected by Likert scale, introduced in Excel® spreadsheet and analyzed using descriptive statistics and nonparametric tests of Wilcoxon and Friedman. The population was predominantly between 46-55 years (87/38, 49%) were women (198/87, 61%) and have a master degree (180/79, 65%). The teachers were far from reaching the competences which they sought. The lower skill was in building the design of programs to meet the learning situations and, the bigger, in evaluating educational programs. The greatest desire was to design programs with creative formats, and the smaller, was to use councils, committees and task force. It was concluded that designing educational programs for adults is still something unexplored and little experienced by these teachers. This study aimed to understand the nurses’ contributions in the network of relationships and interactions of community health workers (CHW) in a city located in the south of the country. The Grounded Theory was used and twenty individuals were interviewed, among health professionals and users of the health center, divided into three sample groups. The nurse is recognized as a key element in the network of relationships and interactions of the CHW with the community, being viewed as a leader. Although showing signs of an authoritarian leadership, the nurse promotes dialogue and acts as a facilitator of teamwork in health promotion. It was concluded that the nurses of the Family Health Strategy have a significant role in the health team, providing clinical support to organize the care, and management, to foster good relations, direct the activities and conduct the flow of information. The research has investigated the difficulties that nurses from “Santa Casa” Hospital in Montes Claros-MG have had in using indicators to analyze the quality of care processes results. A transversal study of quantitative approach was carried out, with a questionnaire being applied to nurses who have obeyed the inclusion criteria. As a result, it was showed that 94,9% of the participants reported diffi culties in using process indicators, considering that 50% of them got graduated less than three years ago and just 30% received information about the subject during the course. Among the difficulties, the rise of privative activities (61,5%), lack of theoretical and practical knowledge on the subject (46,2%), little knowledge about Process Management (43,6%), little involvement of the staff on the data collection (30,8%), among others. Thus, it was concluded how important it is the reflection on the nurse’s privative activities inside the health facilities and readjustment of their work process, besides the insertion of the subject into nursing under graduation and graduation courses. Mammographic breast cancer screening is a fact in developed countries. Nursing acts in different ways in this process, having an important role in the barriers related to non-adherence to screening, but its effectiveness is little proven, with limited number of clinical trials about this topic. An integrative review of the literature in PubMed and LILACS (Latin American Literature) was conducted, aiming to evaluate controlled clinical trials about nurse´s role in breast cancer screening. It was used the key words breast cancer screening, clinical trials and nurse. From 110 publications in PubMed, 18 were clinical trials and showed the nurse´s role in breast cancer screening. None publication was observed in LILACS database. This review shows the effectiveness of nursing in breast cancer screening, presenting new nurse´s role in the multidisciplinary team that qualify actions related to women´s health. The purpose of this study, of a theoretical nature, was to analyze and discuss a possible binary code for the Nursing system, in the sense of identifying its own knowledge from the perspective of Niklas Luhmann’s theoretical presuppositions. To bet on functionally differentiated and socially relevant communication for the nursing system implies transcending the traditional health-disease code, predominant in the health system, whose socially relevant communication is the disease. Furthermore, it implies in investing proactively in the promotion and protection of healthy living of individuals, families and communities, so that health will be the central point of discussions and interventions. The study aims to show the origin of the term school nurse and the trajectory of this specialty in the Brazilian nursing. Our objective is to argue about the new spaces of performance of the nurse. We use as methodology a qualitative approach, in view of the practice of the nurse in anElementary School and the identification and analysis of theoretical elements gotten in the bibliographical surveys related to the issue of health promotion. In the results we demonstrate that the presence of the nurses in the school is determinative in attention to the processes of health promotion, when they stimulate technician debates, present their perspective in relation to the processes of health and illness, besides strengthening the social relationships between professionals of education and health. Report of an experience of nursing students in providing care to a patient with epidermodysplasia verruciformis, during the internship in the discipline Nursing in Transmittable Diseases, at the dermatology ward of a teaching hospital, located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, in 2009. This is a rare genodermatosis, susceptible to infection with different types of human papilloma viruses, that cause exacerbated physical changes that impact the psyche of the affected individual. Care delivery was based on the assistance complexity indicated by the application of the Patient Classification System proposed by Perroca. The experience allowed students to learn how to cope with a patient affected by a rare and complex disease, of difficult resolution, and to provide integral care to this individual, perceiving him beyond the lesions. One conclude that the experience has greatly contributed to the growth of the students as future professionals. Key words: Nursing; Epidermodysplasia Verruciformis; Nursing Care.
