The purpose was to analyse the managerial work of the nurse, to know nurses’ actions, to verify the importance towards the planning and to identify some factors that interfere in the management. A descriptive research was accomplished in 10 basic health units in Fortaleza, CE, Brazil, with 10 nurses. Data collection was carried aout in january 2008, by means of a structured interview. Most of the nurses were female between 37 and 57 years-old. For seven nurses the management of people and the planning are the most important aspects. Some difficulties about the incomplete composition of the teams, lack of professional ability and low financial resource were reported. This research gathers information for knowledge and analisys of the management actions of the nurses in the basic atention. Key words: Nursing; Management; Basic health unit.

The present article has as its objective to identify the concept of the registered nurses in relation to the contents in a website about the post-anesthetic recovery room. The descriptive field research was done during the 8th Brazilian Nursing Congress in Surgical Nursing, Anesthetic Recovery and the Central Supply, Sterilization and Material Preparation room with nurses involved in the teaching field and also nurses working in these areas. 95.65% of the nurses considered a website important in relation to the availability of information about SRPA and these nurses presented a large diversity about the subjects that should make up the contents of the website, however all aspects should be presented only when the information is secure and correct. It is important to know the opinion and expectations of the nurses in relation to a website that contains information about SRPA. Qualitative study held in an emergency hospital in Aracaju-SE, which aimed to know the perception of nurses about what is a motivated nursing team, to identify possible motivational policies used by them and if they are consistent with the policies proposed by Frederick Herzberg in his theory. Of the 20 nurses participants, the most understood the motivation as a set of techniques possible to shape the behavior of the individual at work, linking it to extrinsic factors and 60% did not consider his team motivated. This qualitative study aimed at learning the masculine conception of paternity and understanding the masculine strategies to cope the legal, social and affective pressures of this process. The collection of information was done through semi-structured interview with eight adolescents from Porto Alegre – RS, Brasil, ranging between 15 and 19 years old, who experienced paternity. The interpretation and analysis were based on the content analysis. From the analysis of these youngsters´ reports the following categories have emerged:Adolescents Relationship; Paternity and Gender; and, Meaning of Being a Father. The attentive look to paternity in adolescence brings to light the comprehension of issues regarding the masculine exclusion in objective life experiences marked by the commitment with paternity. This research aimed to analyze the curriculum of “paranaense” nursing graduation identifying if it has occurred the orientation development for Unique System of Health. It was proved that there is a proposal of formation that overcomes the hospital-centered model, focused in the preventive and collective aspects and demands of the work market. It was observed equivalent schedule distribution of biological disciplines and disciplines that approach biological sciences and collective health. It was noticed a reducing in the credit hours of the collective health which appeared lately; the curricular supervision traineeship appears as a moment that allows to narrow the learning knowledge with real situations of the professional life. Concluding, there is a signal for reorienting the formation, but it is still a slow process, in a construction phase, which demands problems. A cross-sectional epidemiological descriptive study with the purpose of identify the demographic characteristics, health aspects and life style, vulnerability to Sexually Transmitted Diseases/AIDS amongst long distance truck drivers were applied to 50 drivers from supply center of Campinas (fruit, vegetable, product wholesale market). The outcomes showed that almost all drivers interviewed were men, the majority were married, had kids, low study level and fewer than 40 years old. 70% reported abuse psychoactive drugs. The majority was aware of the importance of using condoms with casual partners; 94% reported relationship with casual partners and just 6% never used condoms. Although the small sample analyzed, the results suggests that must be implemented health promotion actions and illness prevention public politics, including the development of customized educational interventions with in this professional group. This study had as purpose to identify the insertion of the management competences in the formation of nurses. That was a study of qualitative approach, that used the analysis of content of the pedagogic documents of the course of nursing of an institution of higher education of the South Region of the country. In the thematic documental analysis developed in this study, the evidence of the meaning items corroborated the insert of the managerial competence in the dimensions: knowledge, abilities and attitudes. The study demonstrated that they are contemplated in the nurse formation the managerial competences in the researched course. It important to say that from the analysis of the data emerged the enrolled gaps as contribution of the study. The purpose of the article was to identify a problematic, challenges and strategies recommended in those texts and analysis the applicability of such recommendations reflected on papers published from 2005-2008. A thematic analysis was applied to the full texts available on LILACS data base. Results showed that the development of nursing research was articulated to the neoliberal and globalization economic system, the national health system, the healthcare demands of population, and nursing profession. The postgraduation expansion in Latin America was a result of the international efforts of the Brazilian post-graduation programs, and the increase number of nurse researchers as well as Center of Nursing Research. Because the scientific production is inserted on academic field, the research findings do not become healthcare policy yet. Nursing organizations and their partners need to continue making efforts to overcome old challenges and to build new meanings for nursing research. This study aimed at determining which educational models have been applied to the activities health education. This is a review of literature on the topic “Models of Education” and “Health Education”, using as reference contemporary books of specialists in the field of education and journals on such topics available in major databases. The results showed that the Traditional Model of health education aims to transfer the knowledge and experience of the educator, giving a paramount importance to the content taught, hoping that the students absorb unchanged and faithfully reproduce. The model based on dialogue understands the in health education as a process of awareness, change and transformation, characterized by a philosophy of emancipatory subject. This paper discusses the relationship between popular health education presuppositions and nursing education and work. It is divided into three parts: a presentation of Popular Education end Health field, with a brief historic, focusing some theoretical and methodological principles; discussion on pedagogic challenges related to nursing work and education, based on the curriculum of Faculty of Nursing - State University of Rio de Janeiro; and reflection about the potentiality of the insertion of theoretical-methodological elements of popular education and health field in nursing undergraduate curriculum as a way of supporting a critical-reflexive perspective in education, giving answers to health reality challenges, and to fortify pedagogic dimension of professional exercise towards democratic advances of Brazilian Health Care System. The article has for objective to reflect on the polypharmacy of the aged with emphasis in the adverse drug reactions and the drug-drug interactions. The vulnerability of the elderly to the problems related from the use as of drugs is pretty upswing, the one to in case that must the complexity of the problems clinical, at the must as of need pharmacotherapeutic interventions, and to the update pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic changes inherent to the aging. This article aimed at reflecting and discussing about some difficulties in the submission and evaluation of scientific projects to the Research Ethics Committee, from an experience in post-graduation. Among these difficulties, there was a need for submission of a single project to several CEP as demand for part of the health facilities involved, which showed discrepancies with regard to the matter. Another issue, involving the reports, which are still based on biomedical models, which hinder the evaluation of research projects in nursing and other sciences. However, one of the great challenges of CEP is to ensure that researches with human beings are carried out within an ethics framework, without be an obstacle to their development.
