Road safety is an area which is concerned with both the reduction of accidents as with the care provided to the victims. Several initiatives are proposed to assist with reducing the number of accidents, such as surveillance, awareness campaigns and support equipment to drivers. Other initiatives for prevention and protection are proposed by vehicle manufacturers in terms of requirements of governament entities. As a final resort, that is, in the event of the accident and the victim needs medical attention, this should be done as quickly as possible. To assist in identifying the existence of the victim and the need for medical care, we propose a Bayesian model, called Prevaba, which uses Bayesian Networks (BN), which aims to predict the existence of victims in traffic accidents. In order to validate the model, we developed a prototype that performed the actual data classification in Porto Alegre - RS for the year 2013. The prototype made the classification based on the previous year's data (2012), showing an index above 90% accuracy, taking into account the incorrect classications are only classified as victimless, but actually was has a victim.

Hyperconnectivity due to online social networks exposed security issues on data stored in these systems. This article presents an analysis on how online social networks designers have been communicating information security aspects through these systems’ interfaces. This analysis was made using the Semiotic Inspection Method on Facebook since it is largely used in Brazil and all over the world. Results showed that there is major concern with security information properties. Nevertheless it was possible to identify interface problems that could compromise use and understanding of such security properties.

This paper proposes a mapping between two product quality and software processes models used in the industry, the CERTICS national model and the CMMI-DEV international model. The stages of mapping are presented step by step, as well as the mapping review, which had the cooperation of one specialist in CERTICS and CMMI-DEV models. It aims to correlate the structures of the two models in order to facilitate and reduce the implementation time and costs, and to stimulate the execution of multi-model implementations in software developers companies.

Data management in environments based on several clouds (cloud-of-clouds) should be dependable and secure. DEPSKY may assure that characteristics through mechanisms as cryptography and data replication, however DEPSKY does not support concurrent writing, a desirable functionality for many applications. This paper presents the development and a performance analysis of a lock algorithmfor DEPSKY storage system. The paper also presents validation test and performance test of the algorithm. Such protocol allows concurrent writing, through a low contention lock mechanism that uses lock filesfi to dene who is allowed to write in a data unit.

Professionals are constantly seeking qualification and consequently increasing their knowledge in their area of expertise. Thus, it is interesting to develop a computer system that knows its users and their work history. Using this information, even in the case of professional role change, the system could allow the renewed authorization for activities, based on previously authorized use. This article proposes a model for user access control that is embedded in a context-aware environment. The model applies the concept of trails to manage access control, recording activities usage in contexts and applying this history as a criterion to grant new accesses. Despite the fact that previous related research works consider contexts, none of them uses the concept of trails. Hence, the main contribution of this work is the use of a new access control criterion, namely, the history of previous accesses (trails). A prototype was implemented and applied in an evaluation based on scenarios. The results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposal, allowing for access control systems to use an alternative way to support access rights.

This case study aims to analyze the integration's approaches and technologies among information systems and services in an academic environment. It has been done a study on the integration history in the Federal University of Lavras. The data had been gathered via questionnaires and documentation analysis. In this analysis, 4 distinct phases were specified. Besides, the advantages and disadvantages of each phase were discussed. The main contribution of this work is the analysis of different integration approaches among information systems and other services.
