Globalization process has affected many aspects of human life. Education in general and higher education in particular is no exception to it. Globalization gathered momentum in higher education in the second half of 1990. Education as a service industry is a part of globalization process becoming commodity in the third world (TW) countries like India. Universities and higher education system in India and Asia have become the agents of both internationalization and globalization. Indian society which is historically characterized by high degree of social stratification and institutional in equally governed by caste system where a huge section of SC/STs population stand at the bottom of caste hierarchy and denied equal rights in education. The objective of this paper is to find out the role of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) in promoting higher education among SC/STs and also to find out whether SC/STs are able to transform themselves to fit into the current education system and are they able to place themselves in this new knowledge economy which is the result of globalization and Information communication and Technology development in India. The findings show that SC/STs still remain discriminated in education and there are major constraints for them in taking up higher education.

Ethiopia upholds unique cultural heritage and diverse music history in entire African continent. The traditional music heritage of Ethiopia has been globally recognized with its distinct music culture and symbolic manifestation. The traditional songs and music of the country revolves around core chord of their life and culture. The modern music of Ethiopia has been blended with combination of elements from traditional Ethiopian music and western music which has created a new trend in the music world. The music tradition of the country not only maintains the cultural identity but also maintains social cohesion through cultural expression at different social occasions and resists cultural changes infused through globalization. The globalization has brought a series of transformation and changes in the world of Ethiopian music through commercialization, commodification and digitalization of cultural expressions apart from hijacking the cultural rights of traditional musicians. The younger generations have been attracted towards western music undermining the aesthetic and cultural value of music tradition of the country. The international enactments relating to protection and safeguarding of cultural rights of people are yet to be appropriately translated into reality. The emergence of culture industries and entertainment houses has posed serious threats to local culture and led to disappearance of local traditions, musical heritage and their replacement by popular global music. The cultural homogeneity and commodification has replaced the multiplicity of cultures in this globalized era. This paper based on review of published articles and content analysis critically unfolds sensitive areas of cultural shock and violation of cultural rights exposed to traditional musicians and traditional singers of Ethiopia during last couple of decades

Festivals are part of living in India and are known for bringing upliftment in moods and well beings of individuals. With the changing lifestyle in metros, young generations are in transition of adopting new modern cultural and food habits such as dining out. The present paper studies the impact of Navratras festival on subjective wellbeing of vegetarian customers in fast food joints and hotels. The paper employed a survey research design and convenient critical analysis from vegetarian customers and hoteliers. The sample (N250) was customers in all categories hotels and fast food joints in Delhi NCR. Data was collected using questions adapted from standardized tool of Sell and Nagpal’s The Subjective Wellbeing Inventory (1992) and an interview schedule was adopted. Findings revealed that celebrating Navratras outside reflects changing life style and has a positive impact on customers’ subjective wellbeing.

Modern leadership has permeated the village social system. Change within that system will naturally necessitate a change in the socio -political construct of the leaders. The socio-political construct of a leader has been the resultant of interactive perception and perceptual configuration. In developing countries like India, leaders act as a change agent so far as development of villages and villagers are concerned. It is very important for the leaders to have a modern outlook as well as to be democratically oriented if they have to work in a democratic set up as India claims to be for a sustainable and renewable development of India. The study has been conducted mainly to estimate the socio political structure of the rural leaders as a predicted character in elucidating the leadership dynamics in a given social ecology. Accordingly, 19 different independent variables were included in designing socio-political structure. The present study was carried out with a sample of 100 rural leaders (sociometric leaders and institutional leaders) at Haringhata block I of Nadia district in the state of West Bengal. The purposive as well as simple random sampling and systematic sampling techniques were adopted for the present study. It has been found that the variables like Occupation (X3), Education (X4), Five Year Plan (X7), Panchayat system perception (X8), Dominance (X9), Self-confidence (X10), Dogmatism (X11), Authoritarianism-equilitarianism (X12), Conservatism-liberalism (X13), Fatalism- scienticism (X14), Individualism familism (X15), progressive-reactionary (X16), Political ideology (X17 ), Election perception (X18 ), and alienation (X19 ) have contributed immensely towards profiling the political structure of the rural leaders .Thus the whole of the study rightly has come out with a clear indication that for better and effective construction of leadership and unleashing of their function, we need to have a focused and effective training viz a viz motivational interventions.

Its distinctive history, its gradual growth and development, its adaptability to the ever – changing times and its mission make it unique has compare to the other institutions. This college has a vibrant work culture and holistic approach to education. Many people of this region rose from dust to doyen by this college. This college has completed 99 years of yeoman service to the noble cause of education. On the occasion of going centenary celebrations it behoves on us to look back to its beginning, growth and the rich contribution made by way of its alumni who have become celebrated in different walks of life. The 100 years of its history have to their credit many landmarks which have an abiding relevance when viewed in the context of the responsiveness of the College to the growing demands of the Rayalaseema.On such a happy and jubilant occasion as this, it is but proper to recall the history of the college.
