The purpose of this paper is to identify the similarities, in terms of language, between the poetic prose of Clarice
Lispector and the philosophical reflections of Martin Heidegger. In spite of the fact that, in our opinion, these two authors
belong to different worlds, both of them understood language as a world to be continuously rediscovered. Clarice, with her
poetic-filled prose, and Heidegger, with his philosophical thinking, both thought about language from the element of surprise,
a provocative means by which man can experience language beyond the disconnected linguistic signs of existence.
Through these two interpretations, language becomes a space for creation where all of the capacities of the individual are
awakened to express in words how he/she perceives life and the world.
