The article presents the results of the work that has been carried out by an international team of partners from Poland, Italy, Spain, and Turkey as part of the Erasmus+ project entitled Interculturality – Intercultural Competence Development for International Business Environment. The project aimed to develop materials enabling educators to improve intercultural competences of adults by means of a training program and Continuing Professional Development course which are offered as open educational resources. Main issues and areas that constitute intercultural competences, important for people working in the international environment, were identified on the basis of scientific literature analysis. The final results of the project were achieved through the examination of training courses dedicated to developing intercultural competences that are available on the European market, consultations with representatives of international enterprises, gaps identification, preparation of the training program as well as pilot testing of the developed materials. Project results and the work that has been done in the transnational partnership of the Erasmus+ project highlight the importance of developing intercultural competences in the context of managing multicultural organisations.

The article describes selected issues from the field of educational psychology: motivation, self-regulation and goal orientation. It presents the approaches and theories recognized in the scientific community that describe SDT – theories of self-determination, SRL – theories of self-regulation in learning and theories of goal-orientation. The paper discusses the perception of motivation in the following trends: psychodynamic, behavioral, humanistic and cognitive. The authors also present selected experiments examining the effects of locating motivation on the interest in undertaken activities and blaming others for one‘s own failures.

Effective use of VR technology requires a methodical and conscious approach and the selection of appropriate content that forms the basis of the training scenario. It becomes particularly important when the main goal of the training is to improve the safety of people working under stress, caused by difficult working conditions, and emergency situations, when improper behaviour or lack of action may lead to catastrophic consequences. The article presents the method of developing VR scenarios for mining training intended for employees of the mining sector. The originality of the presented issue results from the use of materials related to actual mining accidents. This method allows to reflect the authenticity of the dangerous situation during the training, and the trainee has the opportunity to prevent an accident or minimize its consequences in safe conditions of virtual reality.

Podejmowanie aktywności w wieku senioralnym jest istotne w utrzymaniu sprawności fizycznej i psychicznej, a także w podtrzymywaniu samodzielności osoby starszej. Aktywność wpływa na ogólny dobrostan seniora, „jest lekiem” na samotność, nudę czy depresję, a w znaczeniu szerszym przyczynia się do zmniejszenia skutków wykluczenia społecznego osób starszych w społeczeństwie. Aktywność w życiu seniora może również na dalszy plan odsunąć sędziwą starość, może nie tylko dodać seniorom „lat do życia”, ale przede wszystkim „życia do lat”. Celem prezentowanego artykułu jest przedstawienie założeń programu Senior+, który umożliwia rozwój i wzmocnienie aktywności u osób starszych, na przykładzie działalności Klubu Senior+ w Chorzowie.
