This paper studies data mining techniques used in medical diagnosis, particularly for predicting chance of survival of a patient after undergoing thoracic surgery. We discuss models built using decision trees, naive Bayes and support vector machines and explore suitability of each of the algorithms to perform on such data.
In his work we present an approach for obtaining new iterative methods for solving nonlinear equations. This approach can be applicable to arbitrary iterative process which is linearly or quadratically convergent. Analysis of convergence of the new methods demonstrates that the new method preserve the convergence conditions of primitive functions. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the efficiency and performance of presented methods.
This article presents “Math for all” – a web application that generates various algebraic equations and inequalities. We discuss algorithms and methods that are implemented in building the library that generates all the expressions, and some problems that are solved in the process of our work.
The paper aims to suggest algorithms for Extended Galois Field generation and calculation. The algorithm analysis shows that the proposed algorithm for finding primitive polynomial is faster than traditional polynomial search and when table operations in GF(pm) are used the algorithms are faster than traditional polynomial addition and subtraction.
The present paper deals with a system for crawling and content extraction from news sites. The system of web crawlers extracts textual and graphic information and checks for multimedia content availability. A part of the programming code and the database have been presented.
