Introduction: Atopic dermatitis is an itchy, chronic or chronically relapsing inflammatory skin disorder predominantly affecting children & young adults. It is characterized by papulovesicular eruption which gets lichenified with typical flexural distribution. Atopic dermatitis can be correlated to Charmadala described in Kashyapa Samhitha. Objective: To treat Atopic dermatitis with Nithya Virechana Karma. Materials and Methods: The subject was a 7 year old girl with dry, itchy & scaly skin associated with reddish black excoriated lesions & oozing. She visited OPD of SDM Ayurveda Hospital, Udupi. She was treated with Nithya Virechana & Shamanaoushadi’s along with dietary modification. The efficacy of the treatment was assessed using SCORAD(Scoring atopic dermatitis scale). Conclusion: Atopic dermatitis is well manageable with appreciable results through Ayurveda.

Introduction: Allergic rhinitis is a disorder of nose induced by an IgE mediated inflammation after allergen exposure leading to sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal pruritis, nasal stuffiness, etc. Worldwide it affects between 10-25% of the population. Considering its signs and symptoms, it can be correlated with Vataja Pratishyaya. Importance is given to Pratishyaya in classics, as it has got a dedicated chapter in Sushruta Samhitha. In contemporary medicine it has been treated with anti- histamines and corticosteroids, which results in various side effects and reoccurrence of the same, thus it’s the need of the hour to make use of Ayurveda to tackle the cause and make use of novel bio marker like DAO (Diamine Oxidase). Materials and methods: A female patient of age 22 approached our OPD, with complaints of sneezing, running nose and nasal blockage since 4 years. Subject underwent Ayurvedic treatment comprising of Gudardraka Avaleha, Karpasasthyadi Taila Nasya and Pathya for a period of one month. Result: Patient felt subjective improvement in the symptoms. Discussion: Here we have taken the line of treatment which has been told for Vataja Pratishyaya, which includes Nasya in the later stages of the disease which does Srotho Shodhana as well as Snehana. The medicine administered initially have Shothahara and Rasayana properties. Also, following a strict Pathya would also have made an impact.

In Ayurveda, Clinical features related to visual disturbances are generally seen in Drishtigata Rogas. Hence, all the cases of visual disturbance can be correlated under the broad umbrella of Timira-Kacha-Linganasha complex. A very little description of Drishti and Patala are available in the classical literature. As the meaning suggests the Patala is a covering, which covers the Drishti. In addition, based on the Dhatu Ashraya on four Patala of eyeball, the cornea with aqueous, the Lens with uveal tract, the posterior sclera and the retina with optic nerve can be considered as the Prathama, Dwitiya, Tritiya and Chaturtha Patala respectively. Timira is a disease of Drishtimandala that attributes a wide range of clinical conditions starting from mild blurring of vision to the potential risk of permanent vision loss. Presbyopia is not an error of refraction but a condition of physiological insufficiency of accommodation leading to a progressive fall in the near vision. The concept of Presbyopia is almost parallel to the concept of Dwitiya Patalagata Timira described in the chapter of Drishtigata Roga. As Dwitiya patala is the Asraya Sthana of Mamsa,the Dravya which specially acts on Mamsa Dhathu will do the work. Hence an attempt has been made to understand the correlation of Dwitiya Patalagata Timira with reference to Presbyopia and role of Hareetaki in slow downing the progression.

Vatarakta is a chronic, progressive disorder present in the society caused due to mithya ahara, vihara and sedentary lifestyle. Vatarakta as the name suggest is the vitiation of vata dosha and rakta dhatu. In this condition the normal flow of vata is obstructed by rakta. The disease is initially limited to the uttana dhatu leading to uttana vatarakta but later on involves the gambhira dhatu giving rise to gambhira vatarakta. Vatarakta is a broad term when viewed under the lens of contemporary science ranges from autoimmune connective tissue disorders to metabolic disorders. The treatment should not only aim on samprapti vighatana but also on lifestyle modification in the present era. The present study aims to give a sight of critical review on the disease Vatarakta.

The detailed explanation of Marma is available in Bruhatrayee. There are 107 Marma mentioned by Acharyas, description of which is given in the classics. Based on Vikalpa the Marmas are classified into 5 types, injury to which leads to death or disabilities. Kalanthara Pranahara Marma is total 33 in number and predominant of Agni and Soma mahabhuta. Kalantara Pranahara Marma of Uras is Stanamoola, Stanarohita, Apalapa and Apastamba. Although the Sthana and the Viddhalakshana of these Marma are explained in the Samhita, detail description of particular structures present in Stanamoola, Stanarohita, Apalapa and Apastamba Marma region are lacking in ancient texts.objectives of this study were to make a comprehensive and conceptual study on Kalanthara Pranahara Marma of Uras as mentioned in text and to critically analysing the consequence of injury to these Marma as well as the reasons leading to gradual death in comparison with contemporary science through literary review. So Literature related to Kalanthara Pranahara Marma of Uras was collected and Dissection of 4 cadavers was carried out in the region of Kalanthara Pranahara Marma of Uras for better understanding.

Haemorrhagic disorders are characterized by an increased tendency to bleed due to defects in the clotting process, and can manifest as spontaneous bleeding or prolonged bleeding after injury or surgery. Rakta Sthapana Churna (RSC) is an Ayurvedic formulation designed for external application during Rakta Mokshana to address excessive bleeding tendencies. Aims & Objectives: The in-vitro study aims to evaluate its procoagulant activity using blood samples from healthy human volunteers. Materials & Methods: Coagulation time is determined by a modified Lee and White’s Method. The clotting time of 20 blood samples treated with aqueous extracts of RSC at 5% & 10% concentration(AG1 & AQ2), along with normal saline as the control is recorded. The in-vitro pro-coagulant activity is evaluated by comparing the clotting time of test and control groups. Results: On comparing the average clotting times with the control, it was found that AQ1 had 13.71% higher CT, while AQ2 had 43.1% higher CT (highly significant). Discussion: RSC in 5% concentration showed reduction in clotting time in few samples (sample 9,11,12,14,20), whereas in 10% concentration it did not show any reduction. Conclusion: The study showed dose-dependent anticoagulant effects of RSC at higher concentrations, as well as pro-coagulant activity at lower concentrations. The unique clotting patterns observed highlight the complex nature of clot initiation and clot completion, which need further research & validation.

Introduction- Our lifestyle choices play a major part in determining our liver health. Faulty diet and faulty lifestyles are the causes of vitiation of three doshas formed apakva anna rasa due to Jatharagnimandhyta. Now Vitiation of Kapha doshas & deposition of meda in Yakrita that lead to srotorodha and create Yakrita vikara. The term non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases (NAFLD) refer to a broad spectrum of disorders characterized by fatty infiltration of liver >5%, Steatosis, Steatohepatitis and Cirrhosis. Yakritvriddhi, Yakrit dalyudara, Yakritodra, Yakrita gata dosha, Yakrita vriddhi,Yakrita granthi are different diseases found in ayurvedic literature based on its mass, architectures and morphology whereas Kamala, Kumbhkamala, Panaki, Halimaka are clinical features based on the function of Liver diseases. Aims & Objectives- To provide the reliable, effective treatments which have minimal side effect and prevent steatosis. Material & Methods- Total number of 30 patients were selected from O.P.D & I.P.D. of Kayachikitsa department of Rishikul campus, Uttarakhand Ayurved University, Haridwar on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria. The duration of treatment was 60 days with a follow up period of 15 days. Assessment was done at interval of 20 days on the basis of subjective parameters as well as objective parameters. Discussion- The overall effect of Rohitakadi vati was better. Rohitakadi vati contents are Rohitaka, Chitraka, Yavanika, Ikshuraka-beeja, Navsadara, Saindhav lavana and bhavana Dravya Karanja and Karvellaka. Rohitakadi vati was very effective in managing the patients of Yakrita vikara (Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) by breaking the pathogenesis due to properties of drugs Deepana, Pachana, Yakritauttejaka, Shotha-hara, Anulomana, Vranaropaka properties. Conclusion- NAFLD is considered as Yakrita Vikara. The main aim of this study was to treat the patient of Yakrit vikara (NAFLD) with diet , lifestyle modifications and Rohitakadi vati .
