Rash festival (utsav) is one of the popular festivals of W.B. held on month of Kartik. It is celebrated to celebrate love and union of Lord Krishna with his Gopis, called Rashlila. The most important day of the festival is observed on the full moon day (purnima) in Kartik month, known as Rash purnima. The Vaishnavas decorate stage and pandals with various types of shoal articles like rash tree, Astosokhi, rashpots and rash rachanas. They are well decorated with light and various types of Shola aricles. The Malakar community makes fourteen types of Rash rachana, like various fruits, birds, fish etc. during the manufacturing process the craftsmen are focus on aesthetic sence of the products. With these symbolic sholapith articles they try to create an artificial environment of Brindaban. The present paper has attempted to study the production and marketing process of Sholapith craft and its changing dynamics during the Rash utsav. Here the current paper will throw a luminous focus on three Sholapith craft cluster of W. B. for emphasis on this issue. To fulfil the purpose of this research study both primary and secondary data has been used. It is found that modernization and globalisation influences the decrease use of Shola articles during Rash festival. With changing situation and emergence of alternative products, this traditional craft have to face some competition. Recently peoples from other communities also engaged in this craft.

Realia describes actual objects that aid in learning and help in developing knowledge and vocabulary. It replicates experiences and provides the opportunity for students to explore the various senses used in learning through interaction with real objects. It may not be always be available for use in the classroom setting at all times; however, it provides students an effective method for experiencing first-hand the available facts about a topic. Imaging is a technique that used to make students to visualize images in their minds in order to facilitate their understanding of concepts or problems to be answered. Teachers verbally stimulate student to make them envision scenarios in their minds that is being discussed in a text or a problem to be solved. Once images are enlivened in students’ minds, the teacher urges the students to describe what they see in vivid detail. Teachers provide an opportunity for students to work together with other students in groups. Graphic organizers are visuals or pictorial images created to represent ideas, text or connections between texts. Concept mapping is learning based on visual representation and interaction among different concepts. Story mapping is a technique for graphically representing ideas. It involves applying interactive strategies in learning language. Retraining language teachers on how to employ interactive strategies is important for more productive teaching and learning. Constructivist theorists consider learning to be more effective when students work in groups in a collaborative manner and are actively involved in the learning process.

Marital distress is growing rapidly due to a change in the lifestyle and is emerging as a serious area of concern for the society. In this respect marital virtues can be helpful in reducing many of the differences that arise in married life. Virtues such as friendship, generosity, loyalty and fairness are important for a happy married life. The focus has now shifted from distress to that of dealing with dissimilarities in marriage in a positive way. Having a pragmatic outlook, inculcating moral and righteous characteristics and having knowledge to cope with dissimilarities are important in a healthy marriage. These constitute main beliefs of a couple who shows willingness to remain forever in wedlock. For wedded couples it presents a “relationship check up”. The present paper tries to explore the construct of marital virtues and its effectiveness in establishing long term and satisfactory marriages.

Ethnic conflict has become a matter of great concern in present political analysis. Since 1950s ethnic politics has been influencing the northeast and the state of Assam. As we know that Assam is one of the most ethnically rich and diverse states of northeast India. It is a home to variety of tribes, each with a distinct socio-cultural history. However, such a demographically and racially diverse state has not remained free from ethnically induced tensions. It has and still is witnessing a host of ethnic movements and conflicts, each trying to assert the identity of the tribe in question and some of even to the extent of challenging the foundation of Indian state. And the ethnic movement in BTAD has become a very crucial issue for the state of India. As a result the non Bodo people are facing lots of problem in BTAD area. Even are not able to enjoy the democratic rights in the area. So, this issue becomes one of the burning issues in North East India.

Communist Party of India in Surma-Barak Valley of Assam: A Short History

During colonial period, the Communist Party of India and its allied organizations played a significant role in the freedom movement of India. After the Russian revolution, a large number of Indian revolutionaries and youths were inspired by the ideology of Communism and communist ideology started to gain ground in Indian soil. During 1920’s various communist groups emerged in different parts of the country. At the initiative of M.N. Roy, the Communist Party of India was first established in Tashkent in 1920 and ultimately, the party was formed within India in 1925 by uniting different individual communist groups of the country in Kanpur. In the communist movements of India, Surma-Barak valley of Assam did not lag behind. The Communists Party and organisation also developed in Surma-Barak valley of Assam which had raised its head from the district of Sylhet which was the nerve centre of political activities at that time. The organisation of the C.P.I in Sylhet was formed in 1935 and in Cachar in 1938. Like other parts of India, the revolutionary youths and students laid the base of the CPI in Surma-Barak valley. After the formation of the CPI and subsequent joining of the erstwhile revolutionaries into the party, the old trend of militant revolutionary method of Indian freedom struggle was ended and a new trend emerged in the political arena of colonial India which was guided, inspired and controlled by the ideology of Communism.
