This study aimed at analyzing and describing Various Methods used by mathematics teacher in solving equations. Type of this study is descriptive by subject of this study comprised 65 mathematics teachers in senior, junior, and primary schools respectively 15, 33, and 17 in numbers. The data were collected from the answer to containing four problems of equation. Data Coding was conducted by two coding personnel to obtain credible data. The data were then analyzed descriptively. It has been found that the teachers have implemented a method for solving equation problems by means of operation on one side of equation and procedural operation. This method has been dominantly used by the teachers to solve to the equation problems. The other method was doing operation on both sides of the equation simultaneously by focusing on similar elements on both sides of the equation.

The purpose of this study is to analyse and interpret the influence of principal leadership style on the performance of certified teachers, the influence of teacher work motivation on the performance of certified teachers and the influence of principal leadership style and teacher work motivation simultaneously on the performance of certified teachers in SMA Negeri Kotamobagu. This study employs a quantitative study approach with survey methods and multiple regression analysis techniques. The independent variables are principal leadership style (X1) and teacher motivation (X2) and the dependent variable is certified teachers performance (Y). Result of the research shows that the principal leadership style has an effect on the performance of certified teachers, teacher work motivation has an effect on the performance of certified teachers, principal leadership style and teacher work motivation simultaneously affects the performance of certified teachers in SMA Negeri Kotamobagu. The values of the regression coefficients show the influence of each principal leadership style and teacher work motivation on the performance of certified teachers and have a high contribution to the performance of certified teachers. The principal must have the readiness and ability to mobilize the teachers to achieve the goals and be responsible for the organization of educational activities at school. Teachers should be tenacious and skilful at conducting quality learning activities. Schools should have appropriate functions to educational goals and implement effective and efficient organizational management, high social responsiveness, and are sensitive to: teachers, students and the surrounding community.

A well-prepared abstract enables the reader to identify the basic content of a document quickly and accurately, to determine its relevance to their interests, and thus to decide whether to read the document in its entirety. The Abstract should be 100 to 200 words in length. The abstract should be written in the past tense. Standard nomenclature should be used and abbreviations should be avoided. No literature should be cited. The keyword list provides the opportunity to add keywords, used by the indexing and abstracting services, in addition to those already present in the title. Judicious use of keywords may increase the ease with which interested parties can locate our article.

The purpose of this research is produce learning set equipment on heat material of ethnoscience based in Tegal district, The results showed that the feasibility of syllabus-based ethnoscience include into the category is very good because it has a percentage of 96,43%. The feasibility learning device of an ethnoscience-based into a very good category because it has a percentage of 91,37%. Ethnoscience-based learning tool able to improve student learning outcomes from the average value of 42,82 to 80,06 and the gains value 0,65. Inclusive education involving disable students has been applied in several countries including Asian countries. Nevertheless, teachers’ efficacy in implementing inclusive education remains out of sight. This study aims to review systematically the role of teachers’ efficacy in an inclusive education (IE) setting taking place in several Asian countries, particularly in developing countries. The search of e-literature was conducted to identify full-English peer-reviewed articles published since 2004 concerning on teachers’ efficacy in teaching in inclusive programs/schools. The electronic database used were: PsycARTICLES, ERIC, Science Direct, SSCI, Springer Link, and Google Scholar. There were two studies identified using inclusive and exclusive selection criteria in this review. Teachers’ teaching efficacy in inclusive education (IE) in Indonesia and Bangladesh as developing countries in Asia–including efficacy in use inclusive instruction, efficacy in managing behavior, and efficacy in collaboration–was categorized in a good condition although there were small participant in categorize had been used (N=1623 Bangladesh teacher; N=101 Indonesian teacher). Improving the measurement and research on teachers’ efficacy in teaching in an inclusive program/school will require greater investment in arranging several inclusive teachers’ professionalism enhancement and the increase in the number of disable students acquiring their education rights.

Inquiries into the nature and effects of cognitive and learning style constructs are mounting daily, regardless of criticism and confusion about the boundaries, natures and to some extent overlapping issues of these two constructs. These issues raise several questions about the credibility of these two constructs with regard to further research, application and development. Therefore, there is a need to crystallize their natures to pave the way for further research and for a better understanding of individual’s learning. The current scientific review strengthens the concept of these two constructs as separate and independent, each contributing in its own way to different fields of human learning. Both constructs have different histories and schools of thought directed toward different ends. The relationship of these constructs undeniably establishes their usefulness and value as research subjects. However, specific concerns is required in defining cognitive and learning styles which may hinder the credibility and usefulness of further research, including valid and reliable measurements, cohesive theory, application oriented studies, use of multiple methods in research, and the origin and development of these constructs. This article explores the discourse in these fields and highlights potential issues with the constructs to assist researchers in constructing a more comprehensive understanding of the research framework.

The Academic performance of the student depends on a number of factors such as teachers, student and school related variables. Hence, this study was conducted to analyze the factors which affect the academic performance of students. Primary and secondary data were used for the study. In this paper, students’ results were taken from record office. Multiple regressions, chi square test, correlation analysis were used to analyze the data. The result of the chi-square test and correlation analysis portrayed that teachers educational level, experience, subject matter knowledge, students interest towards education, attendance, parents educational level, parents income, distance of the school from the students home, the availability of materials, text book and language skill of students have an influence for the academic success of students. Besides, keeping other variables constant, 14.8 % and 62.7% variability of students’ academic performance was explained by teacher and school related variables whereas the overall 74.2 % of variations of students’ results were explained by 19 variables applied for this study. The overall relationship was statistically significant (F19, 23=8.592, P<0.001). It is recommended that analyzing and understanding of teachers, students, parents, school educational expert and related variables are very essential to improve the academic performance of students.

This study examined: a) school member interactions that reflect an inclusive culture, b) school policies in promoting inclusion, c) evolving inclusive practies of elementary schools. This study employed the qualitative approach, with case study designs. The research was conducted at 7 Inclusive Inclusice schools in Karangmojo Sub-district. This study reveals that interaction of school members in creating inclusive culture can be seen from their efforts to cultivate mutual respect among the school members, big support and role of the principal in engaging all parties, and partnerships between school, parents, and community. Policies in promoting inclusive education can be seen from the procedures of student admissions that are flexible and non-discriminatory, and the efforts of the school to conduct accessibility of facilities and infrastructure for the children with special needs, regular teacher-special assistant teachers collaboration, as well as the flexibility of curriculum implementation for children with special needs. Evolving inclusive practies can be seen from identification and assessment for students suspected to have special needs, applying the curriculum development for teaching-learning processes, and the provision of school budget allocations for the development of inclusive education both from government funds and private funds.

This research aimed to find out whether or not there is an effect of Learning Infrastructure (LI) and Learning Motivation (LM) on Economics Learning Achievement (ELA), and which one has more dominant effect on Learning Achievement, Learning Infrastructure or Learning Motivation. This study was a descriptive quantitative research with survey method. The data of LI, LM and ELA were collected using questionnaire. The population of research consisted of 1192 economics students in Public Senior High Schools of Serdang Bedagai Regency applying the 2013 curriculum. The sample consisted of 300 respondents, taken using cluster areas sampling technique. From the result of research, it can be found that there was a positive significant effect of LI on ELA (tstatistic=9.597, P = 0.000), there was a positive significant effect of LM on ELA (tstatistic=6.990, P=0.000), there was a positive and significant effect of LI and LM on ELA (Fstatistic=114.281, P=0.000), and LI affected ELA more dominantly than LM did.

The aims of research consist of the following (1) to know need analyze teaching materials related to the matter on writing kid stories in the fourth grade of elementary school, (2) to develop teaching material on writing kid stories based on contextual. Result of the research (1) The teachers still need the addition of teaching materials on writing kid stories as support, (2) Teachers need the new innovation about the developing og teaching materials on writing kid stories. Teaching materials on writing kid stories on contextual basis which can help the teachers as the teaching media in enlanging the sight on writing kid stories and the students are motivated in expressing idea, opinion and mind in a story. The results of the development of teaching materials to writing kid stories based on contextual grade 4th can be received well by learners.

The aim of this study is to determine the ecological literacy ability of prospective teachers at Sebelas Maret University (UNS). This research was conducted on students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS Surakarta. The subjects of the study used two courses that gave the ecology course namely Biology Education Study Program and Geography Education Study Program. Subjects in both Study Programs are devoted who are already or are currently receiving ecological subjects. The number of subjects in two study programs were 98 students. Research subjects were taken by stratified random sampling technique. Qualitative descriptive technique is used to analyze each component of ecological literacy. The results showed that the average value of ecological literacy and the value of each component of the students' ecology literacy is still low. Provision of less than optimal ecology concept to be one factor that causes low ecological literacy of student.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the improvement of students' mathematical literacy ability through the use of mathematics teaching materials with metacognitive approach guidance. This research will be held in the city of Kendari to the subject of this research target is students who are at grade 5 Land in Junior High VIIID Kendari years lessons 2017/2018 with many limited scale trial class is only required as much as 1 class. To know the significance of the increase in the literacy abilities of students using paired t-test. Data processing using the SPSS program with criteria if α=0,05 then there is an increased of student's mathematical literacy ability. The results of the analysis on the stages of the evaluation shows the learning materials with metacognitive approach guidance can provide better against an increase in student learning. The ability of the early mathematical literacy against students is very less because of learning during this time students have not been directed with the ability of mathematical literacy. After the students get learning by using learning materials through metacognitive approach guidance, the ability of mathematical literacy students’ level 3 and level 4 underwent significant improvement.

Some research aiming to improve problem-solving skills in physics by various learning models has been performed. So far, there is no comprehensive research that uses Inquiry-discovery learning model to improve problem solving skills (PSS) in physics with the aid of the PhET simulation in the material of kinetic theory of gases. This research aims to investigate the differences of PhET-aided Inquiry-discovery learning using a theoretical review on PSS in the material of kinetic theory of gases between the experimental class and control class. This research is a quasi-experimental study by a post-test only design. The data analysis was performed via a t-test. The analysis results showed students in the experimental get higher PSS class than those in the control class. Also, the students in the experimental class have the highest and lowest initial abilities which were still higher than the students in the control class. Hence, the inquiry-discovery learning model is recommended to enhance students’ physics PSS. The implication of this research is to provide information that students can be empowered by inquairy-discovey learning model in improving PSS. Therefore, it is expected that the next researchers can explore students’ PSS at each meeting in order to improve students’ learning outcomes.

This study aims to: 1) examine the challenges teachers encounter in implementing project-based learning in 2013 curriculum, 2) to examine teachers’ strategies in integrating project-based learning in 2013 curriculum. This research finds several obstacles faced by teachers and strategies that can be done in the implementation of project-based learning, they are: 1) the obstacle in terms of students' capability can be overcome by familiarizing them to complete projects; 2) the obstacle in terms of indiscipline can be solved by optimizing the teacher's role as supervisor; 3) the time constraint is overcome by some alternative ways; 4) the obstacle in terms of equipment availability is addressed by modifying projects; 5) the obstacle in terms of student's inequality is overcome by forming propori sembang group; 6) the cost issues are resolved by using classroom cash or selecting projects suitable for the available resources. Another positive finding is that teachers should have the confidence and commitment in implementing project-based learning. Based on these results, it can be concluded that most teachers and even experienced teachers will experience difficulties and challenges when trying to implement project-based learning. However, experienced teachers have strategies to overcome obstacles, thus project-based learning can still be implemented.

A textbook is the main source of learning in many universities, yet there are only a few studies which specifically evaluate accounting textbook. This research aimed to evaluate the accounting textbooks used in some Indonesian universities and is expected to provide recommendations of accounting textbooks which are potential to develop students’ critical thinking ability. This study was a content analysis. The analysis was based on the Bloom’s taxonomy as well as the indicators of contextual representation intensity level. The results demonstrated that critical thinking receives little attention, either in the components of learning objectives, practice exercises or the materials/main content. Accounting textbook written by foreign authors seems to have higher quality than those written by local authors. It is suggested that the accounting academicians in Indonesia collaborate with accounting practitioners to develop a better quality textbook by adapting the superiorities of textbooks written by foreign authors and eliminating the weakness.

This paper’s main focus is to explore the students’ perspectives of politeness practices at the State University of Makassar. The main problems to be explored are the roles of politeness in the class and the ways to show politeness. The subject of this research is the students of English Literature Department, Faculty of Languages and Literature, the State University of Makassar. To collect data, an open-ended questionnaire was distributed to one class of English Literature department, consisting of 20 students. This questionnaire was analyzed descriptively in relation to politeness theories. Findings shows that the students perceived that politeness has important roles in the classroom interaction. Politeness is a need in education, a strategy to create good characters, and a learning motivation. There are also some ways to show politeness according to the students such as being on time and not getting angry in the class. These students’ perspectives should be given a priority in order to create effective learning and teaching process. Findings from this study become valuable inputs for teachers and students in their efforts to create effective classroom interaction.

Character building is usually being applied in everyday life at school and at home. It is expected that the character education is not only derived only from the teacher but also will be more attractive when it is included into the textbooks. In this literature study, the data were collected by analysing some research papers which relate to primary students’ visual knowledge and character building theory. The results show that character buildings could be included in the illustrations in elementary school textbooks using the students’ interest in illustrations. The illustration is drawn in the form of an overview of the positive values which touch children’s affective aspects. Hopefully, by cultivating the positive values, it will gradually form good character of the primary students.

The paper primarily stresses on exploring the teacher’s voice toward metacognitive strategy based instruction using audio-visual aid for listening. The metacognitive strategy model applied in the study was inspired from Vandergrift and Tafaghodtari (2010) instructional model. Thus it is modified in the procedure and applied with audio-visual aids for improving listening comprehension. The research setting was at SMA Negeri 2 Parepare, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, and the sample of research was teacher of English at tenth grade at SMAN 2. The data was collected using in depth interview during the research and analyzed using qualitative analysis. The result of data showed that this strategy assisted the teacher in teaching listening comprehension as the procedure has systematic steps that encourage students’ critical thinking on learning listening. Also, applying metacognitive strategy with audiovisual aids eases the teacher to grab students’ comprehension in listening.

This study aims at identifying the role played by school administrators' and curricula in promoting intellectual security of students. To achieve this purpose, the researchers adopted the descriptive approach. Data were gathered and analyzed by using a questionnaire that determines the role of school administrations and curricula in the promotion of intellectual security. The questionnaire includes two sections: first; the respondents' profile information, second; sixteen 5-point Likert-type questions. The study sample consisted of 27 male and 14 male. The data obtained from the questionnaire show that school administrators', extracurricular activities, and curricula had a statistically significant effect on promoting intellectual security of students respectively. For this research study, results, along with practical implications and recommended future research directions were discussed.

The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of Task Base Language Teaching (TBLT) on tertiary ESOL learners’ academic writing achievement in tertiary level. Therefore, the experimental research was applied to this study. The control group was taught through Classical Method (CM) while the experiment group was taught through Task Based Language Teaching (TBLT) method. Furthermore, the pre-test and post-test were administered to students in control group and experiment group (30 students in each group). The data were tabulated by employing t-test in Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 21. Based on the data analysis, the result indicated that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It can be concluded that there was a significant effect of Task Based Language Teaching (TBLT) method on tertiary ESOL learners’ writing achievement compared to Classical Method (CM) of teaching.

Learning vocabulary in an English-language classroom is a major challenge for many students as it is an essential part of foreign language learning. Words convey meaning, and the expansion of vocabulary helps to eliminate misunderstandings in communication. This study investigates the impact of implementing new vocabulary teaching strategies-context drills, word-on board games, flash-card games, mini-presentations and role playing, dictionary use and blended learning-to develop ESL learners’ vocabulary acquisition. The control group was taught vocabulary using the traditional didactic teaching method. The study’s sample consisted of 248 first-year students enrolled in the Faculty of Education and the Deanship of the Preparatory Year at the University of Dammam. English instructors with similar qualifications and experience taught the students. Vocabulary pre- and post-tests were given to groups at the beginning and at the end of the class. Data collected from the tests were then documented and statistically analyzed. The findings reveal that students taught using the new methods of instruction had better vocabulary test scores than those taught using the traditional method. These methods have proven to be effective in improving students’ vocabulary acquisition.

Teaching materials that available in the school to learn physics especially scientific-based is limited and become one of the obstacles to achieving the learning objectives on electromagnetic waves material. The research aims are to gain scientific Physics-based learning modules for high school grade XII students who have met the eligibility criteria, determine the effectiveness of using scientific-based learning modules Physics to improve motivation and learning outcomes from students of grade XII High School. The development of this research on Physics module using 4D development procedure which consists of the steps of define, design, development, and dissemination. Definition phase consists of the teacher and student’s needs analysis process, material analysis, as well as the formulation of the learning module. The design phase of physics learning modules according to the stage of scientific learning is integrated into the module. The development phase consists of the development process of the modules from the design results, validating the feasibility, module revision, limited testing, and the use of scientifically based learning modules Physics in grade XII IPA 1 Batik 2 Surakarta senior high school. The deployment phase is the deployment process module to another Senior High School in Surakarta. Data Analysis for the study is a quantitative descriptive analysis based on the score criteria and analysis of increasing student motivation through N-gain. Conclusion obtained are; 1) Physics-based scientific learning modules that developed meet the eligibility criteria on aspects of content and presentation, language, the chart, and aspects of learning. The module is declared worthy of the ideals validation results with the percentage of 85.16%, 83.66% by students and teachers in the response phase of the deployment of 85.93%, which is included in the category of "very good"; 2) Physics-based scientific learning modules with material scientific electromagnetic waves can increase students' motivation to gain value 0.4 or in the category "medium".

Game based learning is a new game play mechanism that the players explore various aspects of game play in a learning context designed by the instructor or the game designer. Nevertheless, general acceptance of game based learning as a new learning paradigm was deferred by a lack of well controlled, large sample efficacy studies. To address the increasing need of cybersecurity workforce, this paper introduces a game based learning method for high school cybersecurity education. Purdue University Northwest launched GenCyber high school summer camps to about 200 high school students in Chicago metropolitan area. The survey conducted after the summer camp indicated that the game based learning for cybersecurity education was very effective in cybersecurity awareness training. Further analysis of survey data revealed that there is a gender difference in raising students’ interests in cybersecurity and computer science education using game based learning method.
