  • Regional Formation and Development Studies is a scientific journal in the trend of Social sciences. It is a follow-up of “Human Resources as the Main Factor of Regional Development”, published in the period of 2007-2011. In the context of globalization sustainable development of regions turns into a serious problem. The major objective of the journal is to explore social situation in the region and on the basis of this study to offer suggestions for regional policy, emphasizing assumptions for sustainable development in the region. It also analyzes problems of Lithuanian regional policy in the context of EU and globalization processes. Attempts are made to diagnose actual social and economical situation in regions on the basis of major parameters, to make analysis of qualitative changes in labour force, migration related processes, assumptions for development of civil and knowledge society in regions, to discuss problems, related to improvement of efficient management of business institutions and preservation of national identity in the face of globalization. Each article is reviewed by two researchers. The journal is published three times per year in Lithuanian and English.)
