The journal was found in 1996 under the name "Fiziceskoe Vospitanie Studentov Tvorcheskikh Special'nostej=Physical Education of the Student of Creative Specialties" [ISSN 1993-4335 (print), ISSN 1993-4343 (on line)]. In July 2009 the title of journal was change to "Physical Education of Students" ISSN 2075-5279 (Russian ed. Print), ISSN 2223-2125 (Russian ed. On line). 01.01.2013 - online versions [ISSN 2308-7250 (English ed. Online)].
The urgency of publishing such a periodical was determined necessary, because of the negative tendencies of reducing health level of our youth and the government demanding attention be given to the problem. This decision is connected with the search of a new way to address a proper solution for the problem. For this reason it is important to give the utmost attention for the development of specialized scientific magazines, different issues of physical culture and educational institution of sports. We have observed, that there is a close link when forming a positive attitude about ones own health, in the lives of students in the secondary school, specialized secondary education and institution of higher education. This stage of education in the lives of young people, as students, is an attempt to influence them, in an organized way, about the level of their health and to prepare them for effective professional activity. Therefore the continuity of the process of strengthening and preserving their health, and the perfection of vitally important physical quality of youth, from grade school till institution of higher education, demands careful analysis. There is a special place among such researches for assigning the decisions of the problem of physical education, physical rehabilitation, physical recreation, the influence of environment on the state of health, physical culture and sport in everyday life of students.
It is necessary to mention that there is a informational component in which the results of scientific researches is regulated by departmental methods and by the level of social economical development of the country. It brings one to such a conclusion, that scientific projects have been duplicated and the results of researches are not often accessible to potential users.
Therefore using public electronic versions of articles and other qualitative performances, as the journal "Physical Education of Students", will have a unique interlink between researchers and potential users. Such a position gives an opportunity for more progressive technologies of physical education for youth, new directions of development of science about health and healthy a lifestyle, and modern searchers in the area of sports.
At the same time, in Ukraine, besides the journal "Physical Education of Students" there are other similar editions. Many of them are distributed only in the Ukraine territory (the main language of the articles is Ukrainian). The journal "Physical Education of Students" is available for a bigger audience and focuses not only on Ukrainian readers, but also in Russian and other countries of the former Soviet Union. In turn, authors from other countries have opportunities to publishing their articles in this journal, as the Russian language is still an accessible language. The originality, novelty and quality of these articles have gained authority of the researches of the Editorial Board, which is famous in Ukraine, Russia, Belorussia, Poland, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, China and USA.
We genuinely hope that the journal "Physical Education of Students" will promote informative information in the joining of researchers' efforts from different countries; for deciding general problems of health strengthening of youth, physical culture and sport development in institution of higher education.
