Cuadernos del CEMYR is an annual scientific journal edited by the Instituto de Estudios Medievales y Renacentistas de la Universidad de La Laguna. It is an interdisciplinary journal on different areas related to Medieval and Renaissance Studies (History, Archaeology, History of Art, Literature, Philology, Philosophy, etc.). This includes the spatial, temporal and cultural field of study related to Latin Western Europe, the Greek Orthodox East and the Islamic world between the end of Antiquity and the dawn of Early Modernity (grosso modo, 4th–16th centuries AD). To this end, we are particularly interested in manuscripts whose theme, era and geographic scope are connected to the dynamics of societies and cultures of the three aforementioned major areas of civilisation of the medieval oecumene, from Antiquity until the present day.
Cuadernos del CEMYR publishes original, unpublished research papers in English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish on medieval and renaissance studies in any of its areas (History, History of Art, Archaeology, Literature, Language, Philosophy, etc.). We also welcome reviews of monographs and collective volumes.
The journal is organised into three sections: the Themed issue section, Articles and Reviews. Firstly, a monographic Themed issue section would include those studies dealing with a chosen topic which would receive a particular treatment from each discipline, in order to produce as diverse a perspective on that single issue as possible. This section is to be coordinated and introduced by a specialist in that specific topic. The Articles section includes original and unpublished research works about topics unrelated with that of the monographic Themed issue section. Finally, the Reviews section incorporates critical surveys on recent works of interest for the journal.
