The Specialist (ISSN 2318-7115) is a biannual publication open to contributors from all parts of the country and abroad interested in issues related to different areas of languages in Applied Linguistics. Its areas of interest include: theoretical and applied approaches to the teaching and learning of mother tongues and foreign languages; training of teachers and coordinators of language teaching programs; speech analysis; classroom interaction; analysis of linguistic genres; corpus linguistics; distance education; digital technology and language teaching and learning; languages for specific purposes; reports of systematic teaching experience. It also publishes debates and letters from readers, reserving the right to close a debate when it deems it appropriate. The languages accepted for publication are: English, Portuguese, French and Spanish. All papers must have abstracts in Portuguese and English. It only accepts unpublished contributions, which are not being submitted at the same time to another publication. Reviews will normally be commissioned, based on suggestions from the advisory and editorial boards.
