The article studies lingual lexical and grammatical units that can be qualified (sometimes – in strictly defined contextual conditions) as conflictogens. A conflict text, being the result of a verbally expressed communicative clash of different views, inevitably includes units with explicit pejorative meaning. The analysis of such units is very important, since taking into consideration their pragmatic co-meanings makes it possible to form a culture of conflict interaction and, therefore, to cultivate a public communicative space. Based on the material of media discourse (especially media discourse of 2022), using linguopragmatic, sociolinguistic and contextual analysis, pragmatic characteristics of units that can be characterized as conflictogens have been determined. With the obvious disharmony of the interests between a person using a nomination and the object of the nomination, they do not violate social and ethical-linguistic standards. It seems the presented examples – antonomasias, the plural pejorative, zoomorphisms, precedent names and substandard nominations – do not contradict the principles of cultural conflict communication and therefore are quite possible in media space.

Based on the materials of the conducted sociological research and analysis of the situation, the article examines the problems of youth media consumption and its influence on the formation of stereotypes of behavior from different angles. On the one hand, media consumption is considered as a factor influencing the successful socialization of the younger generation and the most effective in-depth career guidance, on the other hand, as a negative factor affecting the quality of processing and analysis of the information received in an avalanche, which undoubtedly negatively affects both the psychological and physical health of young people and the increasing vulnerability of young people to illegal and political manipulation. At the same time, the reverse side of media consumption, for example, computer games, is also the involvement of young people in gambling virtual games, as well as the formation of gambling addiction. The authors of the article come to the conclusion that uncontrolled pastime on the net, neglect of the protection of personal information, associated with the virtual absence of the formation of a national policy of information security culture of the individual, associated with a clear lack of training and skills development in the education system, as well as in the family and in society in the region. media education, especially in the context of information wars, will lead both to a number of destructive consequences in the field of youth and information policy in general, and to the degradation of the individual in particular. The materials obtained during the study and preparation of the article can be used by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs in order to determine areas of activity in the field of youth policy to prevent cyber threats, as well as to develop measures on working with youth in terms of informing them about working in an information-safe environment.

The analysis of film studies concepts (in the context of the sociocultural and political situation, etc.) of the existence of the Cinema Art journal during the period of "perestroika" (1986−1991) showed that theoretical works on cinematic subjects during this period can be divided into the following types: - scientific-publicistic articles written under the influence of perestroika trends of change in Soviet society, including the sphere of cinema (V. Fomin, E. Gromov, S. Dobrotvorsky, S. Lavrentiev, etc.). - theoretical articles and discussions dedicated primarily to professional issues: analysis of the theoretical heritage of the classics of Soviet cinema, directing, the problem of "Cinema and the Spectator," etc. (Y. Bogomolov, E. Levin, I. Levshina, N. Klimontovich, L. Mamatova, M. Turovskaya, M. Yampolsky, M. Zak, etc.); - theoretical articles on foreign cinematography (S. Lavrentiev, V. Matizen, O. Reisen, and others). Overall, between 1986 and 1991 the Cinema Art journal significantly shifted away from the former ideological stereotypes of Soviet film studies, and took a radical re-examination of the history of Soviet and world cinema, as well as an objective evaluation of contemporary film production.

Documentary follows the idea of recording facts, and truly shoots the unrepeatable time flow, which has irreplaceable documentary value and practical significance. Because of its special political relationship with the Soviet Union, China had a very close exchange and study with it in politics, economy, and culture and so on for a long period of history. The early Chinese documentaries were greatly influenced by the Soviet Union, which included ideas, structures, aesthetics, functions and other aspects. This influence was of great significance to the future development of Chinese documentaries. But scholars' research on Chinese documentaries mostly concentrated after 1949 (the founding of the People's Republic of China), they paid little attention to documentaries during the Republic of China. In fact, the Republic of China was the initial stage of the development of Chinese documentary. The social environment and political pattern in this period were crucial to the formation and development of Chinese documentary films. This paper will comprehensively sort out the process of Chinese documentary films influenced by the Soviet Union from 1911 to 1966 from two aspects, explain its historical reasons, and analyze its strengths and weaknesses, so that reader can have a clearer, deeper and more comprehensive understanding of this.

This article about ideological format of the children's first reader/alphabet book (on the material of the Russian-language textbooks).The article elaborates upon the role of ideologemes in the first textbooks that teach literacy to children. The stable verbal compounds as well as visual means in educational texts can act as representatives of ideological attitudes. The empirical research embraces the selection of ABC books (primers, alphabet books) and first readers published in Russian in pre-revolutionary, Soviet and post-Soviet Russia in the period from 1903 to the present. The authors conclude that the basic universal values actualized by ideologemes do not undergo significant changes over time, while the socio-political artificially formed (phantom) ones transform or disappear.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, WeChat has gradually become an indispensable social media interaction tool in the life of Chinese people. More than 90 percent Chinese people would log into WeChat every day in the first-tier cities of China. Due to the rising number of WeChat users, it is worth investigating the addiction of WeChat among young adults and to what extent, WeChat is able to create addiction among Chinese young adults. It is also imperative to understand which aspects of WeChat that users are addicted to. This study examines the addiction of WeChat among young adults. In-depth interview is used in this study to understand ten WeChat users’ addictive behaviour. By using the Time Perspective Theory, the findings indicate that Present Fatalistic orientations tend to have addiction behaviour while Present Hedonistic orientations also have chance to be addicted. The findings suggest user’s addiction behaviour is related to the following four categories: WeChat friendship/relationship addiction, WeChat activity addiction, WeChat information addiction, and miscellaneous WeChat addiction. As a conclusion, users’ with Present Fatalistic orientations and Present Hedonistic orientations tend to have WeChat addiction behaviour and they are more likely to have WeChat friendship/relationship addiction and WeChat information addiction.

In modern society, the issues of media literacy seem to be especially relevant due to the spread of fake information and unverified news. Analysis of the level of media literacy as a competence of future journalists seems to be a promising area of scientific and practical research. This is especially true, since journalists are both authors and consumers of information. Based on the analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature, the concept of media literacy is analyzed. As the main methods, a pedagogical experiment and a mass questionnaire are used. To achieve the goal of the study, the authors conducted a mass questionnaire survey to determine the level of media literacy of the first and fourth year students of the Journalism Training Program at Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov (Arkhangelsk, Russian Federation). The survey included three parts: media consumption habits, behavior as an author, and media trust. The survey was supplemented by a pedagogical experiment: students were asked to identify fake and real news. Only four of the seven proposed texts and two of the fake news were identified correctly by the students. As a result, the authors came to the conclusion that a special education in the field of journalism and initial experience in the media sphere does not guarantee a high level of media literacy.

The problem of family, family relations and basic family values formation is very essential nowadays. The difficulties and problems of the modern families lie in unreadiness and unwillingness of young people to take the responsibility for the closest people, inability to cope with even slight obstacles in life, provoke a great number of divorces and don’t promote strengthening and saving of the best family traditions characteristic for Russian family relations culture. In the article media educational abilities of schoolchildren’s family values formation in works of Russian cinematograph are displayed. The problem is viewed in the context of modern students’ audience preparation (future teachers, psychologists, youth work organizers) for professional activity with schoolchildren in conditions of media clubs’ activity, work in media studios, school media centres and so on. The basic directions of media educational activity, aimed at modern scholars’ family values formation are based on the complex approach to the analysis of audiovisual media text, including sociocultural context study, basic plot lines characteristics, main and optional characters’ family relations models investigation, composition of comparative characteristics of family happiness principles, manifested in films of different years, study and analysis of professional materials of media critics and media educationalists, devoted to this or that work of cinematograph and so on. In the process of feature films analysis, the main goals of media education are viewed, consisting in self-directed selection, analytical evaluation and media text interpretation realization, and also audiovisual space creative expansion with the purpose of modern schoolchildren’s horizon, creative abilities, critical thinking development.

The analysis of the materials published in Crocodile magazine about Soviet cinema shows that under censorship the magazine often published critical reviews of the entertainment genres films, directors of which were not acclaimed by the officials. In those rather rare cases, when the work of renowned film directors were subjected to feuilleton criticism (for example, Russian souvenir by G. Alexandrov), most likely this had been previously agreed on by authorities. Meanwhile, the unauthorized Crocodile’s attack on the “ideologically correct” Soviet film (the incident with the adventure film Invisible Jan) caused a negative reaction of the authorities and the corresponding reprimand of the magazine’s editorial board. The Crocodile’s choice of films for its satirical arrows was largely random, since very often artistically very weak, but very popular Soviet films remained unnoticed by the magazine, while films which either failed to collect a large box-office, or were of true artistic value, for some reason became the subject of caustic ridicule of Crocodile’s feuilletonists and reviewers. The era of perestroika spared the Crocodile from censorship, which significantly reflected on the topics of magazine feuilletons about Soviet cinema, but at the same time it marked the beginning of the crisis of both the satirical magazine, and the Soviet cinema.

In general, the course toward de-Stalinization taken by Nikita Khrushchev at the 20th Congress of the Soviet Communist Party resulted in a noticeable updating of the content of the Cinema Art journal: its articles contained fewer dogmatic approaches, it generated lively discussion material, and the former harsh criticisms of the "formalistic" theories of S. Eisenstein, L. Kuleshov, V. Pudovkin and D. Vertov were revised. The journal began to actively support the most artistically brilliant Soviet Thaw films. The rude attacks on certain figures of Soviet cinematography that had been characteristic of the journal in the 1930s and 1940s almost completely disappeared. At the same time, our content analysis of the Cinema Art from 1956 to 1968 showed that after N. Khrushchev was ousted from power, support for the "thaw" tendencies in the journal gradually decreased, and a series of articles against the revisionism of socialist ideas and the harmful foreign influence on Soviet filmmakers was published in connection with the Czechoslovak events of 1968. At the same time, the support of a number of artistically significant Soviet films that did not receive notable approval from the authorities and a rather diverse panorama of cinematic life of foreign countries in the pages of the Cinema Art journal eventually led to initiated "from above" strongly critical articles directed against it (in the Ogonyok magazine) and eventually to the removal of the editor-in-chief L. Pogozheva.

The article investigates the process of formation of the conceptual and terminological apparatus of the new segment, whose activities are based on the use of digital information and communication technologies – Internet media, websites, forums, multifunctional web portals, blog platforms, wiki projects, search engines, social networks, audio and video hosts, messengers, service applications, and much more. The research focuses on the problem of digital media terminology in the paradigm of the media education process. It is important to identify the genesis, typology and functioning of the system of terminological usage, and to analyze it in the framework of terminology studies. Considerable attention in this article is paid to the sphere of knowledge of media educators. The concept of "special vocabulary" is considered as a scientific definition. The most important and relevant concepts, representing methodological terminology, are identified. The article reveals the content of the requirements for the terms of new media. The pragmatic requirements, conditioned by the term specific functioning, are singled out; they include the following ones: adaptability, modernity, internationality and euphony of the term. With regard to the problem in question, the aim of text-based professional vocabulary teaching is to develop students' language competence in the context of media education. The study showed that students can successfully complete professional media thesaurus tasks in the classroom. They gain experience by studying professional media language in the Journalism for Schoolchildren unit and by independently producing vocabulary articles on new digital media communication terms.

The article addresses the issue of media competences of school teachers responsible for managing their schools’ social media accounts, communities, etc. The new types of communication, instant messengers, social networking websites and online learning platforms place modern education in a very special and sensitive environment with a shortened distance between the communicators, danger of personal or classroom information exposure and risks of damaging the reputation of the educational institution. Consequently, school principals and teachers face a problem of acquiring necessary competences in order to advantageously use their school online communities. We surveyed school employees responsible for managing their schools’ virtual accounts and revealed that school teachers do not professionalize their management of social media networks: they neither include it in the sphere of pedagogical competence nor correlate it with journalism. Besides, they feel lack of motivation due to little support from the school administration. We claim that the duty to manage schools’ social media pages should be perceived in the context of the media competence theory and include the ability to collect and process information, produce multimedia content, manage creative teams and form social media communities. This activity should be monitored by school principals and duly rewarded.

The article deals with a person as an object of anthropocentric research of corporate media discourse. The researchers identify the structure of the discourse with a person in its center on the example of the print edition of a large Russian manufacturer United Metallurgical Company (OMK, Moscow). The representation of a person (an employee of the enterprise) is propounded within the anthropocentric model: thematization of professional achievements, personal qualities and hobbies; types of media images; visualization elements, language tools, etc. The purpose of authors is to reveal distinctive media images presented on the pages of the corporate print edition. The object of the study is the texts published in the issues of the corporate print edition over the years. The relevance of the research is determined by the importance of a complex study of the anthropocentric model of corporate media discourse as part of reality, reflecting the features of the communicative practices of corporate media of commercial enterprises. The study was based on the traditional method of document analysis, continuous sampling and thematic analysis. Headings, topics, photos, visualization elements and language means of publications were used as units of the analysis. The obtained results allow us to actualize the types of media images within the anthropocentric model, contribute to the study of the specific features of internal communications within a commercial enterprise, allocate a wide range of means of constructing the discourse of a corporate print edition.

The article presents an overview of modern educational platforms for media literacy in the context of mass media education prospects. The authors define the main directions of mass media education which are reflected in scientific conferences, round tables, competitions on media education issues, festivals, forums, etc. Purposeful work carried out within the framework of open media schools can be considered as one of the promising systemic vectors of continuous mass media education in modern conditions. The article describes five-year experience of the all-Russian open media school “Media Education and Media Literacy for All” which successfully operates in Taganrog Institute named after A.P. Chekhov (branch) of Rostov State University of Economics and the scientific and educational centre “Media Education and Media Competence”. Although the media has played a critical role in Nigeria’s struggle for democratisation, it is not clear what role it plays in the nation’s quest for the institutionalisation of civilian control of the military for sustained democratic governance. This paper presents the findings of a qualitative study that examined the role media agenda-setting could play in influencing effective civil control of the military and positive civilian-military relations in Nigeria. Using the snowball sampling technique, 12 key informants were recruited for interviews and the findings suggest that there is a continued existence of tense relationships between civilians and the military and that the use of agenda-setting media narratives can educate the public and policymakers and influence public opinion toward the institutionalisation of civilian control of the military and enhanced civilian-military relations. The paper concludes that Nigeria’s quest for the institutionalisation of civilian control of the military is steadily sustainable. Recommendations were offered and implications discussed.

In the course of the study, the author of this article analyzed 87 articles from American and British newspapers relating to the "Russian topic". As a result, only 3 of them contained objective information, not "packaged into" manipulative techniques. Thus, approximately 96 % of articles in the American and British press somehow contained signs of manipulation and propaganda clichés. In the analysis of articles in the American and British press, the author uses the filtering of information (reasoned highlighting of true and false in media texts, clearing information from "glitter" and "labels" by comparing with actual facts, etc.; removing the halo from information's "typicality", deconstructing simplification, appeal to authority techniques; a critical analysis of the goals, interests of the information agency, i.e. the source of the information.

The first part of this article discusses the role of media information in the election campaigns of political parties. The section emphasizes that media information plays a major role in the election for voters. This effect is explained by the fact that voters in elections are guided only by ideas about political candidates formed by the media. It is noted that a literate politician uses the media to shape his image and promote the ideas of the political party he represents. The second part of the article reveals the concept of political image and the influence of the media on its formation. In particular, the importance of information in the digital media is noted as information that can be accessed countless times at a convenient time for the electorate. The study examines in some detail the criteria used by voters in elections and suggests that generally accepted criteria for the selection of political candidates may not be in conformity with the actual qualifications of candidates. The third part of the article contains the results of the research of digital media information presented on the website of the Volgograd Oblast Duma. The results of the study showed that the elected candidates did not fully meet the accepted electoral criteria. The study revealed the features of the politician's image, taking into account the regional specifics of voters. The results of the research presented also showed that elected deputies do not present themselves as representatives of individual parties in their statements in the digital media. In general, the research leads to the conclusion of the need to manage digital media information in the interests of developing competition among political parties in the regions of Russia and in the country. This requires each political party to develop a special program to promote its political goals in the regional media.

With the growing digitalization, there has been increasing demand in companies for a skilled workforce to sustain in a competitive business environment. Although the traditional education system serves as a good source of knowledge, they have been consistently proven to lack emphasis on the overall development of students. Therefore, in recent years, the integration of art in education has been promoted. Education media and education theater are interactive education methodologies that improve the learning experience of students and develop their cognitive skills. This study assesses the research gaps in the field of educational media and educational theater through a comparison of critical studies published in Scopus and the Web of Science database. The areas of educational media prevalence, usage of theater in education, educational media role, and benefits of educational theater have been explored. The analysis identifies the main problems and is based on the current education sector needs. Accordingly, suggestions for improvement for the Egyptian education ministry are provided.

This scientific paper is dedicated to the study of the participants’ ideas of educational relations about what content is preferable in the teacher's profile in social media. The relevance of the topic is due to the importance and social acuteness of the problem of teachers' self-presentation in social media. A total of 137 respondents took part in the study, of which 28 were teachers, 39 parents, 70 students in grades 8-11. In this research were applied such research methods as: content analysis, conversation, questioning. As a result of the study, it was revealed that there are significant differences in educational relations participants’ perception about the teacher's profile in social media – parents are more interested in it than students. Most of the students are neutral about any content posted by teachers on their page on the social network, explaining this by lack of interest. Parents are more critical to the content of the teacher's page than students. Most of the teachers, students and parents perceive their social media accounts as a personal space, not as a place for professional self-presentation and, in general, try not to violate the boundaries of this space and do not “make friends” on social networks.

The purpose of this paper is to develop and test a new model of political communication with the emphasis on media literacy as an important factor for political information dissemination in the society suggesting new perspectives for political public relations activities. The authors combine concepts from media literacy studies (Buckingham, 2003; Carlsson, 2019; Jones-Jang et al., 2021; Len-Ríos et al., 2016; Rasi et al., 2021), public relations research (Friedenberg, 1997; Holladay, Coombs, 2013; Moloney, 2006; Newman, 1999), and public opinion theory (Bykov, Kuzmin, 2017; Lilleker, 2014; McNair, 2007; Simons, 2019; Zaller, 1992) to derive a four-component model, conceptualizing the importance of media literacy for political communication in Russia, comprising specific factors into a four components: socio-demographic profile, media literacy, media effects, and political effects. Results show how socio-demographic profile, media literacy, media effects, and political effects vary in affecting the process of political communication in Russia. It is also demonstrated how digital literacy acts as a mediator in the political communication process. The study relies on the results of the available public opinion polls in Russia (Kazakov, 2017; Levada-Center, 2019) and online survey (N = 632) conducted by the authors in the beginning of 2021.

The results of the study showed that the respondents highly appreciate the level of their own media competence. Students consider themselves competent in creating presentations, however, more complex activities are rated in the middle range. It can be assumed that those aspects of activities that are in demand when studying at a university show higher grades. At the same time, the skills associated with in-depth analysis of information and the creation of media products, are not included in the focus of attention when organizing educational activities. These tendencies illustrate the presence of risk zones in the process of forming students' media competence: insufficient attention to evaluative/interpretive and practical-operational skills of working with information. Only less than half of the surveyed respondents believe that conditions have been created in the modern education system for the development of a person's media competence. The analysis of the problems that limit this process is centered, according to students, in the field of organizing training sessions, a knowledge assessment system, and setting assignments for independent work.

One of the most significant changes in the ecology of information and communication is the internet. It not only enables contact and engagement in real time across time zones, but also successful social growth and crisis management, including the promotion of distance learning, especially during the COVID-19 epidemic and the associated compartmentalisation of education systems. This disruption to education poses a threat to learning in Nigeria, and the consequences of continued closure of schools and academic programmes could have detrimental consequences for students, parents and the country. Students can be encouraged to explore their own interests and actively learn during lockdowns by using internet-enabled ICT as a resource. However, this has not been the case in the Nigerian education system. This work aims to provide a simple, cost-effective and alternative pedagogical system for use during and after the epidemic, especially for open schools and institutions. This study provides an e-learning/e-teaching system based on the use of a computer and android smartphone apps to mitigate the adverse effects of the prolonged lockdown on the Nigerian education system, or what is referred to in this study as ‘edu-lockdemic’. The proposed system was developed as a framework based on a comprehensive review of existing literature and is designed to enable heads of institutions monitor school and academic teaching and learning activities in a virtual learning area known as “CT-learning area”. The subject of this research is the changes that occur in the modern communicative interaction under the influence of media space. The purpose of this work is to detect and interpret these signs of changes. The implementation of this goal involves the semantic and communicative analysis of the modern communicative space as an open dynamic self-organizing system. The use of these methods has yielded a number of significant results. In particular, it made it possible to identify the differential features of modern communication in the broad sense of the word, as a field on which various types of receivers and sources of information interact. Differential features include: a change in traditional forms of information transmission, the formation of a new type of age stratification in the dissemination of information, an increase in the total amount of noise, a general increase in information flows, the transfer of more social actions to the digital sphere, and deformation of traditional rating scales. It can be argued that the result of combining various communicative trends is the expansion of the number of receivers of information of a new type. They are focused on the free choice of the sphere of application of their attention, reject the discourse of power and create conditions for the emergence of a communicative environment of a democratic type. The high level of heuristic power possessed by the proposed set of fundamental changes is manifested in the fact that it allows one to explain the changes occurring in the communicative interaction.

The purpose of the article is to reveal the pedagogical potential of media products, the existing practice of its implementation by teachers and the procedures of pedagogical expertise. To achieve the goal, the following methods were used: generalization of Russian and foreign studies, a survey of teachers, pedagogical analysis of feature films, classification of tasks and functions that media products can perform in the teacher’s activity, design of criteria for selecting media products by the teacher, procedures for their pedagogical expertise. According to the results of the study, the following conclusions were made. The pedagogical potential of media products is revealed in the complex of tasks solved by the teacher with their help (didactic, educational, self–developing) and the functions performed by them in relation to the teacher and to the students. For the full use of the pedagogical potential of media products, the teacher needs to conduct his or her pedagogical expertise. Such an examination includes, firstly, the selection of media products based on the following criteria. Secondly, the choice of the method of their pedagogical application. Thirdly, the analysis of the content of the media product from the standpoint of solving the educational, didactic or self–developing task the teacher faces.

Rowe's film Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka. Then B. Krishtul worked as an administrator on the set of the films Sofya Perovskaya, Retribution, Red Tent, The Seagull, Egor Bulychov and others, This sweet word is freedom!, The right to jump. In the 1970s – 1990s, B. Krishtul was the executive producer of such well-known films as Front behind the front line, Crew, Say a word about the poor hussar, Winning a lone businessman, Arsonists, Furious bus, etc. One of the brightest pages of Boris Krishtul's creative biography is his work as a film director on the set of the film adaptation of Vladimir Bogomolov's famous novel In August 1944 (Moment of Truth), which was filmed in 1975, but, alas, never reached the audience.

American late night comedy shows are a good source of information for those who would like to know more about the USA. Saturday Night Live (SNL) is the most long-lasting night comedy project on American TV, well known for its political satire and parodies. Russian viewers can watch it on many platforms nowadays: social media, online or cable TV. The goal of the research is to find out what impression SNL produces on the Russian youth and how they interpret its humor. It is of interest if the show helps Russian students broaden their knowledge of the US: its politics, daily routine, key political actors, and analyze what the image of Russia and Russians in the show is. Two hundred students from Nizhny Novgorod universities took part in the survey and shared their views on US late night comedy. Ten SNL’s enthusiasts were further interviewed and spoke about their likes and dislikes. The research proves that American late night comedy shows can be not only entertainment for young Russians, but useful educational material on the US politics, social life, and culture. The program might be helpful in studying English. To get better understanding of the USA students need teachers’ guidance.

The purpose of the article is to summarize the methodological experience of work on the value-semantic component of modeling the media image of territory in the process of creating a media text of different genres and designs, to characterize the pedagogical technologies of teaching text construction using conceptual representations of society, its cultural memory. The article presents the characteristics of methodological materials on the formation of the competence of the media text author working with the territory's media image used in the ours of training "Journalism", "Advertising and Public Relations" – the bachelor's degree, the master's degree. Cognitive means of a media text addressed to the sociocode of culture have been highlighted. Using them, the textured material is percepted and processed in modeling the media image of a country or a region. Active and interactive teaching methods focused on reflection and conscious use of these tools in the media text author's creative activity have been structured. The authors propose several tasks for active, problem-based learning and articulate the culturological model of education in forming professional competencies in modeling a media image, which replenishes the educational environment with sociocultural meanings characteristic of a person's territory.

The article contains the conceptual basis for modeling the phenomenon of “school violence” in the retrospection of contemporary Russian and American audiovisual and printed/online texts that integrate violent content of different modificational variability. As a result of solving of the set task, a model was developed on the subject of violence at school for the content of modern media texts in Russia and the United States of America (1992−2021). The model fundamental basis is a comparative analysis based on a hermeneutical approach to the interpretation of Russian and American media texts producing the content of “school violence” phenomenon construction. Model substantial elements: a historical concept that determines the period of media text creation; a socio-cultural concept, reflecting the influence of the situation in the social, cultural sphere of a particular country on the media text configuration; an ideological concept that integrates: the author’s opinion and the ideological matrix of characters presented in the media texts; tools for depicting the reality: the main scene, genre palette, behavioral attitudes of the characters; the presented problem and ways to solve it. It is indicated that the main conclusion as a result of the conceptual basis development for modeling the “school violence” phenomenon in the modern media continuum of Russia and the United States of America is that, despite the differences in the structure of the landscape of the countries mentality, in the ongoing configurations typical for the processes in the economic, political, socio-cultural segment, as a whole, the presented model smoothly fits into the common system of audiovisual and printed/online texts functioning on the subject of violence in the school environment at the present stage, of course, with a certain degree of convention. Moreover, the author concludes that the conceptual basis of the prevention and control system in the correlation of the projection of different violence constitutions in the educational environment of the school, both in Russia and in the United States, is reduced to a common conviction, typical for two countries, - today there is no effective prevention and counteraction mechanism. At the same time, significant fact for our research is that the paradigm in the context of solving the problem of school violence in the United States at the legislative level has the most effective experience, which is not typical for Russia.

The materials for this article are books by Soviet and contemporary authors on the history of Soviet cinema and the problems of Soviet cinema censorship. The proposed methodology is based on an integrated approach that provided consideration of all aspects and relationships that influenced the processes under study. Research methods used in the work include historical-comparative and historical-systematic. The analysis of film studies literature has shown that in recent years, the authors have been particularly interested in studies of the development of Soviet cinema. However, against this background, not so many works have been published about Soviet films subject to censorship, and in fact there are no books that would collect and systematize information about Soviet science fiction. The information vacuum that formed in 2021 was filled with a number of new monographs, which are discussed in this article.

Students' media literacy concerning the development of meta-subject connections as a key segment of new didactics is highly relevant in the context of solving the problem of enriching the content of educational policy in modern Russia. Today, the transformational processes taking place in the society bring up the problem under study to the "rank" of particular importance. In this regard, drawing active attention of the educational theorists and practitioners to the new understanding of the "media literacy" concept in the transforming realities of the new millennium is very important today. The authors' reflections on the topic of the formation of media literacy in regard to the content of the development of meta-subject connections are determined by the urgent need to disclose the semantic content of concepts, to identify integrative components and the significance of the formation process itself in the modern educational paradigm to create a holistic picture and approach of the studied content. The social, economic, informational, cultural context in correlation with the national and global peculiarities has a significant impact at the present stage. The authors conclude that at the present stage, socio-economic, information-technological, utilitarian-pragmatic, cultural-historical contexts in their close connection with the national and global specifics have a decisive influence. In addition, the authors are convinced that the development of educational clusters that include integrative components of the phenomenon of functional literacy (information, communication, social, reading, global competencies) is an important factor of the reconstruction of the education structure, many-faceted facilitation of the educational context. Besides, media literacy is one of the key characteristics of global competencies. It seems that information and media literacy as an integrative component of functional literacy is an important quality of a modern person in an information society; media competence as a quality of a person is becoming an essential condition for successful functioning in the modern society.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the formation and development of chronicle-documentary cinema in Ukraine during the period 1923–1928. The authors also cover the most significant events that influenced the formation of Ukrainian newsreels. This article is based on little-known critical publications of 1920s in the Ukrainian and Russian media. An analysis of the polemics of Soviet authors in relation to Ukrainian newsreel and documentaries on the pages of magazines of the 1920s shows that this type of cinematography developed in several directions. We present in chronological order the most significant innovations in Ukrainian cinema production: 1. 1923. Organization of production at the Odessa Film Factory Chronicle of VUFKU; opening in Kharkiv of a special film laboratory for the release of newsreels. 2. 1924. Start of production of the newsreel Flywheel (Makhovik); approval of the thematic direction of the newsreel produced; the beginning of the release of the newsreel Flywheel Cinema week (Kinonedelya Makhovika) with an overview of life in the USSR and the West. 3. 1925. Work to increase the number of newsreel issues, increase circulation, increase the number of staff correspondents; reformatting Flywheel Cinema Week into VUFKU Cinema Week; opening of a special department of filming production at the Odessa Cinema Factory on request of commercial and industrial enterprises and opening of a newsreel department. 4. 1926. The newsreel department of the Odessa Film Factory is organizing the production of newsreels according to the principle of illustrated newspaper reporting. 5. 1927. Involvement of film amateurs and operators of various institutions in filming newsreels; instead of overview of plots devoid of social significance, the production of thematic newsreels is being established; all newsreels are included in the production plan of VUFKU. 6. 1928. Inclusion of foreign newsreels filmed by their own correspondents in the Cinema weekreleases; opening of a frame library at VUFKU; the beginning of the production of full-length editing films based on archival newsreels.

Modern technologies play a significant role in shaping gender perception and adolescents giving more emphasize on the external rather than internal features of an individuals. This study has been designed to examine the effects of the sexually explicit content of web series on emerging adults’ objectification. Survey method was applied, and data was collected from 700 undergraduate participant ages 18 to 23 studying in various public and private sector universities of Lahore, Pakistan. The study is driven by theoretical framework of uses and gratification and objectification theory. The result of the study showed that exposure of sexually explicit content through web series among male was strongly correlated with sexual objectification, dis-empathy, commenting about women’s body and insulting unattractive women. Moreover, web series exposure of sexually explicit content among female was not significantly correlated with male objectification. In addition to this, web series exposure is a significant predictor of sexual objectification dis-empathy, commenting about women’s body and insulting unattractive women among male university students. On the other hand, web series exposure of sexually explicit content is not significant predictor of sexual objectification among female university students. Hence the information acquired in this study can help in understanding the objectification decision made by males and females of this society and motivate parents to keep check on the type of contents their children are exposed to. Implication regarding media effects on gender perception and sexual objectification among male and females are discussed.

The American psychological thriller Joker made a lot of noise in the cultural world and became a blockbuster. The impact of the film was so huge that the images of the main hero Joker appeared in the most unexpected context. Joker could be the name of a café, teenager clothes shop, youth club, graffiti on the city building. It looked like the film produced multiple meanings for the audience and turned out to be one of those art objects that would stay as a part of the world culture. In this paper, we aim at analysing the meaning-constructing images that comprise the content matrix of the film Joker. For this, we firstly consider the contemporary cinematic theory and point out the ideas of the acknowledged experts and thinkers that are significant for film analysis. Then we approach the studies of prominent researchers of culture and philosophy that are critical for the film understanding. We also engage in hermeneutic analysis to follow the events and characters of the film plot. The final purpose of the research is to draw a resume that would define the philosophical value of the American blockbuster and explain its multi-layered sense for the world audience.
