Study of Handoff in A Multi-Service System

Call handling mechanisms can enhance the efficiency of cellular mobile networks. The use of these cellular systems has been a very popular means of enhancing the capacity of the wireless communication networks. It experiences the handoff phenomenon, wherein which a call already in progress in a cell is due to user mobility that hands over (switched) to another cell. The cellular network is a multi-state system that comprises of cells. In this study, the analysis of the Interarrival time, arrival rate, service time, and the theoretical cumulative distribution function (CDF) is compared to the empirical (CDF). New customer arrival and handoff customer were compared to determine which one offers a better quality of service. A similarity to the cellular network is drawn to the Blue café which has a similar arrangement. The café is a multi-service center located in square four at the University of Essex, where there are several counters to offer services to customers. The café gives us a practical model of a cellular system and for the purpose of gathering experimental data for analysis. This result has a good property for modeling of communication networks.

Simulating the Impact of Microgrid Generator Set Failures on Microgrid Performances--Based on Monte Carlo and Homer

In order to cope with the increasingly serious world energy shortage and environmental pollution, renewable energy is attracting worldwide attention as a promising solution. Microgrids have been fully developed as a small power system that can operate independently to make up for the growing power gap. However, in the actual operation of the microgrid, there are many factors that affect its overall performance and operational stability. In order to consider more uncertain factors, and thus evaluate the overall performance of the microgrid system more accurately, the HOMER microgrid model is used in this paper, and the sequential Monte Carlo simulation method is used to consider the failure of the generator set and simulate the operation-fault- operation state in the process of power generation. Take the results of HOMER and Monte Carlo simulation as initial evaluation data that takes into account fault conditions. This provides a data source for the subsequent evaluation of the overall performance of the microgrid, using the Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) method.

There are a variety of techniques available for harmonic removal techniques. The methods have their own performance with respect to application. Also, cost of implementation of particular harmonic removal technique depends on the discrete and semiconductor components used while developing filters. Due to higher demands of electricity, power generations with low cost are most essential needs of the world. Photovoltaic-based power plant implementations are cost effective for longterm power generations due to technological advancements. While generating power from PV solar cells due to variations in the solar radiations, harmonic effect is seen. The harmonic reduction is the most important need while establishing gridconnected PV solar power plants. This paper introduces the review of various techniques for removing harmonics in PV solar power plant developed by various researchers. The addressed techniques are studied based on their robustness, implementation complexities and performance characteristics.

DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF CEILING FAN, MOTOR USING MATLAB

Induction motors find applications in a wide range of application the overall performance of induction motors depends heavily on the quality of supply voltage and frequency fluctuations. The aim of this work is analyzing the effect of voltage variation under no load conditions as well as loaded conditions on the performance characteristics of the ceiling fan. The method adopted for this work involves a successive variation of voltages from 180V to 220V under the stated conditions above. A mathematical model of the capacitor starts, capacitor run is carried out using MATLAB SIMULINK. The process is set up and the Simulink carried out to illustrate the variation in voltage and the consequent effect on efficiency and speed respectively under the condition stated above. The results obtained show a clear increase in efficiency with increasing voltage under the no-load condition, which negates the standard operating principles of a ceiling fan motor (single phase motor). Under loaded condition however, therefore, was a reduction in efficiency which is in tandem with standard operating principles. The result is tabulated in the table shown for easy perusal and referencing and recommendation on improvement is cited in the later part of the work

With the introduction of bitcoin Digital Money, the whole economy is affected. A Digital Money is digital money or assets which can be used as medium of exchange of goods and services using cryptography, for the secure transaction and it can also control the creation of additional or extra currency units. Digital Money is divided as a subset under alternate virtual currencies. Bitcoin was declared as decentralized currency in 2009. Since then, numerous cryptocurrencies have been created. They are frequently called altcoins. The legalization of Virtual Money depends on the legal system of a country that’s why it is somewhere legal and somewhere not. Virtual Money uses different time-stamping schemes to avoid the required trusted third party to timestamp transactions added to the blockchain ledger. Secondary research was used prior to primary research as a process to gather information for conducting research. The primary data were collected using a questionnaire. Quantitative data was administered through surveys distributed via a limited sample to approximately 100 participants. Results indicated that general public especially students who understand the concept of blockchain are strongly willing to invest in Virtual Money irrespective of the fact that it has no central authority. This research will provide guidance to the investors and government that the blockchain technology can be very useful in securing transactions and safe record maintenance. The blockchain technology has a very bright future and when the world is talking about it then how can Indian government ignore it and declare it illegal. In this dissertation the working of Digital Money and stock exchange have been explained and differentiated, along with detail description on topics like mining process of Digital Money, e-wallets, cryptography, the scope of bitcoin and blockchain, basic concepts in working of the stock exchange. This data will be useful for the people who are looking forward to investing in this volatile natured Digital Money, the digital currency.
