Environmental practices of rural women in the district of Pucará –Huancayo

The objective of the research was to know the environmental practices of peasant women in the district of Pucará -Huancayo, Junín Region; Considering that this area is a supplier of vegetables for the province of Huancayo, it is important to know aspects of production such as environmental protection practices for agricultural activity. It is a basic research of descriptive level, quantitative character, cross-sectional non-experimental design, the research method used was the Scientific one, the specific inductive-deductive method. For the collection of information, a validated survey was applied through the Pearson Coefficient, the population consisting of 400 peasant women belonging to the Glass of Milk Program of the Municipality of Pucará, residents inthe district and its annexes, from which a survey was taken. shows criteria of 67. The main results indicate that the rural women of the Pucará district show adequate environmental practices that come from ancestral learning; Regarding soil conservation, 75% develop ecological care and management of their plots and family gardens, recognize the type of land, manage criteria for seed selection, soil rest periods for planting, using organic products. and composting, promote the protection of protected areas and rural roads. Regarding the protection of their water resources, we find that 66% recognize the negative effects of climate change on the water supply of their community, participate in activities to protect river banks, avoiding overflows, use simple technologies for irrigation, for On the other hand, they participate in Water Boards for proper management of this resource in their community
