Recently, cut-flowers production and export has a great role in economies of many countries. The industry of cut flower continues its progress as an important economic activity with its volume of production and trade both in the world and in Turkey. The increase in demands for cut flowers and the developments in transportation services have recently accelerated the progress of the industry. This research covers a group of selected farmers producing rose, gerbera, carnation, chrysanthemum, lisiantus in Altıntepe neighborhood in Menderes district in Izmir province. Economics of cut-flowers production, socio-economic structure and annual activity results of the farms were examined and results were represented. For each cut flower, total gross production values, variable costs, gross margins, and unit costs were also calculated. According to results; carnation production is found the most profitable among the other cut-flowers types. Besides, it was determined that ‘low production costs and habits’ are the most important factors affecting carnation production decisions.

Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) is a vegetable oil source with extremely rich nutritional qualities as well as animal feed. MCH exists in plants but there is limited information about their role in plants. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of mammalian sex hormones and their concentration on seed germination. This research was carried out by completely randomized block design in factorial with three replications. Seeds of canola genotypes Okapi was used in this study. Sterilized Canola seeds were tested with four mammalian sex hormones with (17 β estradiol, progesterone, testosterone and estrogen) 5 different concentrations [(0 control (pure water), 5 × 10-5, 5 × 10-4, 5 × 10-3, 5 × 10-2 mM)]. Analysis of variance indicated that mammalian sex hormones, concentration and their interaction were significant (P <0.01) in germination rate (GR), coefficient velocity germination (CVG), mean of germination time (MGT), germination rate index (GRI) and seedling vigor index (SVI). The highest germination rate, was been obtained at low concentrations of all mammalian sex hormones, whereas; no germination was observed at high concentrations. The highest CVG, MGT, GRI and SVI were obtained in estrogen + 5×10-4 mM (34.89), estrogen + 5×10-2 mM (4.39 gün), progesterone + 5×10-5 mM (11.34) and estrogen + 5×10-4 mM (1757.67) treatments.

Due to the migration from rural to urban areas, rural areas are losing their population and rural heritage is being destroyed. Rural settlements are shaped according to topography, climate, geology, hydrology and soil characteristics. Traditional dwellings which are the building blocks of rural heritage, reflect the features of the region in terms of construction techniques and materials. In this context, Hırkatepe which is the neighbourhood of Beypazarı in Ankara, has the mound, the historical remains, traditional rural architecture and Gündüzalp tomb, were investigated in this study. Suggestions for conservation of the rural architecture that started to disappear, have been developed and laid emphasis on conservation.

The negative effect of fungicides on human and environmental health, resistance to fungicides and the problem of residue in agricultural products are getting increase the importance of biological control one of the alternative methods for chemical control. Nine bioagent bacterial isolates [Bacillus megaterium (TV 3D), Bacillus subtilis (TV 6F, TV 17C, CP 1), Bacillus cereus (TV 85D), Paenibacillus polymxa (TV 12E), Pantoea agglomerans (RK 79, RK 92), Pseudomonas fluorescens (MF 3)] and three bioagent fungi isolates [Trichoderma harzianum (ET 4, ET 14, NT 1)] were used in this study the investigation of biological control of anthracnose disease (Colletotrichum gloesporoides) common in vegetables and fruits in in vitro. As a result of the application, it was determined that all microbial antagonists prevented the development of pathogen fungus in vitro and P. fluorescens MF 3 isolate (69.05%) and T. harzianum ET 4 isolates (82.50%) were the most effective isolates.

This experement was conducted to determine the effects of different levels of dietary humate (0.0, 0.15, 0.30%) suplementation and body weight (light=1400-1500 g, medium=1500-1600, heavy=1600 < g) on laying performance and egg quality parameters of layers. A total of 216 Lohmann layers at age of 28 weeks were utilized as animal material. The experimental period lasted for 16 weeks. Except for feed consumption and feed conversion ratio, humat levels did not affect laying performance parameters. The Feed consumption and feed conversion ratio for groups of feeding humate suplementation diet (0.0, 0.15, 0.30 %) were found to be 125,8, 120,8, 123,4 g and 2,08, 2,0 and 2,0, respectively. All of the performance parameters were significantly affected by body weight. As body weight linearly increased, performance parameters also increased. But laying hens in light group consumed less feed for one kg egg pruduction than those of medium and heavy groups. Avarage daily feed intake (g), hen-day egg production (%), egg weight (g) and feed conversion ratio for light, medium and heavy groups were 119.5, 123.18, 127.3; 76.672, 82.190, 88.908; 61.29, 60.21, 62.69 and 1.98, 2.05, 2.08, respectively. The effect of humat level by body weight interaction on performance parameters was not found statistically significant. Except for egg yolk color and yolk index, egg quality parameters were not affected by humate levels. In addition, body weight had no significant effect on egg quality traits. Hens fed with diets including humate at differentlevels have produced more intensively coloured egg yolks than that of control group consumed feed without dietary humate. Although humat level by body weight interaction effected albumen index and Haugh unit, other egg quality parameters were not affected istatistically by this interaction. As a result, groups fed with diets including dietary humate at different levels and light group consumed less feed per kg egg pruduction than those of other groups.

With the increasing attention to functional foods and healthy nutrition, probiotic microorganisms have become one of the most important fields of study in the scientific world. As the emergence of new dimensions of mutual positive relationship between human and probiotics, the number of studies on the subject and the attention to probiotic products have increased even more. Before producing a probiotic product, in vitro and in vivo tests are used to determine whether the microorganisms are probiotics. In this review, it has been tried to provide information about the probable probiotic strain used in the compliance with the human gastrointestinal tract; resistance to gastric environment, tolerance to bile salt, antibiotic resistance, cholesterol assimilation, intestinal surface adhesion and model gastrointestinal systems.
