The labor productivity was better and the capital productivity was low during pre and post liberalization. It is necessary that both public and private investment should be enhanced in chemical research and technology for sustaining productivity Growth in the long run.

Work life balance in recent years has emerged as a new challenge in human resource management. It aims at bringing cordiality, harmony and balance in the personal and professional life of workers. Employees have diversified roles to play in the family, society and organizations they work in; they feel a lot of pressure to bring coordination among these roles. Work-life balance enables workers to pay attention to all the important aspects of their life be it personal, societal or professional. Management has realized the need of devising and implementing work life balance policies to increase productivity in qualitative and quantitative terms as well. Many organizations have started introducing innovative policies on work life balance by offering opportunities like flexible work schedules, shared job responsibilities and family events and activities sponsored by the organizations. The objective of this study is to find out the impact of work life balance on the working pattern, performance and productivity of employee and evaluate it on accordingly.

Financing of Non-Traditional Export Trade by Commercial Bank

This study seeks to find out whether commercial banks finance Non-traditional export trade in Ghana. The study is a non-experimental research using primary data. Sixteen (16) exporters were selected among all the NTEs in Ghana including the 27 commercial banks in Ghana which also 4 banks were also selected for the study. Their responses to questionnaire were compiled, analyzed and evaluated. Results from the study suggest that banks provide pre-shipment and post-shipment to NTEs. The study reveals high risk (real or perceived) associated with bank lending to NTEs. The study also examined the operating characteristics and key concerns of credit guarantee schemes. Credit guarantee schemes promote the flow of finance to NTEs by acknowledging their limited ability to provide acceptable collaterals, and by mitigating risks caused by the poor credit analysis and pricing skills of banks whose loans are to be guaranteed. Exporters should find innovative ways to facilitate the banks in assessing the risk involved in financing their trade. The banks could employ the services of credit rating agencies to assess the risks of financing NTEs and also use more flexible definitions of what constitutes collateral. Also Banks should also be encouraged to provide larger loan amounts and longer terms for wellperforming borrowers to facilitate international trade and acquire insurance for their trade.

In this era of cut throat competition, no company can survive in the market place without knowing its product’s strengths and weaknesses. It has to fortify (Strengthen) itself against threats from the environment and exploit its strengths for increasing profits. In order to do so, the company has to conduct regular surveys to know the customer’s opinions, needs, and preferences. This helps the company to manufacture the product according to customer’s expectations. It has now become more important for the customer confidence and higher positioning of buyer perception. Thus, Surveys becomes genuine key to success. The Mobile handsets segment is dominated by 3 major player’s viz. NOKIA, SAMSUNG, SONY ERICSSON. Besides these, there are players like – MOTOROLA, LG, & HAIER etc. The expanding Indian market, the growing size of the middle class and the rise in aspirations of the youth along with opening up of the Indian economy have collectively influenced the steady growth of the mobile handsets in India. In the last 5 to 6 years, the craze for mobile handsets over the telephones has picked up and one can find today even girls crazy for a mobile not only in the Metros but in small towns and cities also. In last decade Indian mobile phone industry has witnessed a dramatic growth. Cheap mobile handsets, affordable airtime rates, low initial cost and affordable monthly rentals made it easy for anybody to go mobile. As per latest statistics India has around 140 million mobile subscribers. This Study has been done to understand the Mobile Handset changing pattern of the consumer with respect to the gender and time period, also different factors which influence the consumer to purchase a particular handset. Authors have taken the help of Chi-Square to determine the above.
