My admission to the University of Brasilia, in 1963, in the Law Course, was an opportunity to fulfill the dream of studying higher education. UnB, in its beginnings, in the 63's and even long after the completion of my course in 1967, went through moments that had a deep impact on the Brazilian soul and, notably, on the restless spirit of the student youth. At that time, the UnB was a veritable mosaic of political ideas and ideologies, which is why it was one of the main targets of the military repression that broke out with the so-called Revolution of March 64, when we saw a series of events aimed at framing the UnB to the principles espoused by the military movement. The taking over of the campus by the troops, the mass dismissal of notable and dear professors, the arrest of colleagues and teachers, the government intervention in the internal affairs of the institution, hurting university autonomy, the infiltration of elements foreign to university staff aiming at the arrest of people considered to be leftists, the plea as a method for the delivery of teachers and students to the military inquisitors, the closing of the National Congress, the impeachment of elective mandates and political rights, all of this was the background that permeated our academic experience. Being one of the leaders of the Academic Center 21 de Abril - CAVUA -, led by Saint-Clair Martins Souto, we participated in countless marches and demonstrations against the state of affairs discussed above, fighting against very powerful forces, in defense of freedom and full autonomy of the University of Brasilia.
