The article presents a comparative analysis of societal characteristics ofmodern historical eras and postmodern disclosed the content of modes of social andsocietal identities and based on the data ofmonitoring of societal changes is high-lighted the regularities and peculiarities public transformation in Ukraine.
The article deals with social actionresearch. The typification of social action on factor analysisbasis was offered: emotional action, rational action, reference action, status action. The group-clustersof actors, that practice that types of actions were presented: feminine, universal, masculine, dependentand androgine clusters.
