Background: The percentage of HIV infections in the age group 20–24 years (14%) and the highest percentage of cumulative AIDS cases in the age group 20–29 years (30.7%), then in the age group 15–19 years (3.3%). The incidence in school children or students as much as 1086 people and HIV / AIDS among adolescents aged 15–29 years . The prevalence of AIDS cases per 100,000 population by province, Bengkulu province was ranked 19th out of 33 provinces in Indonesia, where there is a prevalence of 9.33 cases of AIDS. These data indicate that young age, 15–29 years old are the most vulnerable population and need to be targeted in HIV / AIDS in Indonesia . Methods:This study is a Pre experiments with One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The sample of this study uses total sampling, all students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Selupu Rejang as much as 167 people. Collecting data from primary data obtained directly by administering the object, through a questionnaire. To test the results of studies using non-parametric statistical Wilcoxon test with a level of α 0.05. Results:Showed differences in the mean value of the students knowledge about HIV/AIDS before and after the health education with a p value of 0.000. This means that health education on HIV/AIDS affect knowledge of students. Conclusion: health education about HIV/AIDS may increase adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS.

Background:The maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is still quite high. At the provincial level, the maternal mortality very widely. West Java Province is the largest contributor to maternal mortality with the estimated number 19.8% of all maternal deaths in Indonesia. While the province of Yogyakarta contribution is relatively small (1.1%). Objective:To compare the provision of iron tablets by health workers and pregnant women compliance consume, in urban slums in West Java Province and Yogyakarta. Methods:This study describes and analyzes object that is obtained from the Riskesdas 2010. Results:Based on the characteristics, the majority of mothers in the province of Yogyakarta are in middle education level, working as a self employed/farmer/fisherman/laborer. Meanwhile, in West Java province, mostly just poorly educated and do not have a job. Total ownership of health insurance in the province of Yogyakarta relatively more than in the province of West Java. Based on the scope of the giving of iron tablets, it appears that most of the mothers in the province of West Java and Yogyakarta get iron tablets during pregnancy (84.7% vs 96.0%). However, this condition is much different when viewed from the percentage of pregnant women who consumed at least 90 tablets of iron tablets. Seen that pregnant women who consumed iron tablets ≥ 90 in West Java province only 12.6 percent. By contrast, in the province of Yogyakarta, the consumption of iron tablets ≥ 90 percentage is quite high, reaching 60.0%. Conclusion: Coverage giving iron tablets in both provinces relatively good. However, the consumption of iron tablets ≥ 90 tablets in Yogyakarta Province is relatively better than in West Java Province. Recomendations:It is suggested for the provincial government of West Java and other areas for the promotion and extension through various media as well as to the to make a breakthrough, such as pointing person the closest of the pregnant mother for to be a supervisor and motivator for willing consume iron tablets during pregnancy ≥ 90 tablets .

Background:Introduction: Jamkesda is pro- poor government policy to fulfill their health care right base on mandate of law. Departemen of Health in Nganjuk Regency run socialization by involving all local power Hence, in 2012 Jamkesda participation would reach highest in East Java. Purpose:This resaerch aimed to identify Jamkesda participation acceleration and Jamkesda member visit based on age group phenomenon in Nganjuk Regency year 2012. Method:Descriptive research with cross sectional design. Population was Nganjuk Regency government Agency with all Jamkesda managing agencies as sample. Analysis unit was institution. Respondents were officials who managed Jamkesda.Result:Jamkesda in Nganjuk Regency was integrate to Sub Divison of Special Service an Health Costing primary task. In 2012 it showed highest Jamkesda participation in East Java. Socialization strengthening in form of social support and advocacy and media use to accelerate local health coverage and to erase Poor Notification Letter to have medication. Medication visit phenomenon was varied in number in every district, the highest was Nganjuk District (11.18%). Women (56.1%) who took medication in PHC was higher than men (43,99%) particularly those at 15–< 54 years old age group. The commonest disease was hypertension. Conclusion: Participation acceleration through social support and advocacy strategy is able to obtain local public support both formal and non formal for its success. Highest medication visit to PHC was Nganjuk district by women with hypertension as commonest disease they complained. Suggestion:Social support and advocacy socialization strategy can be implemented in other places with similar situation and condition

Background:Alternative complementary health service by health workers is one of the alternative treatment that can contribute to improve the health of adults and is much in demand by the public . Implementation of complementary alternative medicine based on MOH regulation No. 1109/MOH/ 2007. Assessment of complementary alternative medicine policy implementation and its impact on the licensing of health workers was conducted to determine the impact on the implementation and licensing of health workers who practice complementary alternative medicine. Methods:The assessment was based on qualitative approach in 3 provinces: Bali (Denpasar and Tabanan), West Java (Bandung and Bandung District) and Central Java (Semarang and Kendal). The data collected by in depth interview and round table discussion (RTD). Health workers who perform complementary alternative care, SDK Head of Provincial Health Office and District/ City as well as associations or professional organizations as informations resources. Data analysing was done by triangulasi and content analysis. Results:The results shown MOH regulation no. 1109 in the year 2007, interpreted differently by provincial Health Office. In the most provinces have not even been implemented. The professional organizations did not have any college to assess the competence of its members, health personnel licensing requirements more difficult than traditional healers. In addition, many professional organizations which have not been officially recognized standards of competence and have not had, and still there are associations that have not been accredited. So that the recommendations given in the framework of the licensing of health workers accountable difficult. Recomendation: Minister Regulation No. 1076 of 2003 needs to be revised to be able to distinguish clearly the competence and authority of traditional healers and health workers who practice acupuncture. In addition, people can easily distinguish the difference between traditional healer and complementary alternatives, including the capabilities of both.

Background:The health status of mothers and children in Indonesia is still need special attention of concern because maternal and infant mortality rates are still high. The low public awareness of health services by trained health worker is a factor to consider in addressing these issues. This study aims to determine the trends in the use of maternal health services in Indonesia in 2001–2007. Methods:This analysis used National Socio-Economic Survey (NSES) Core 2001, 2004 and 2007. The design of NSES was descriptive cross sectional cover all provinces in Indonesia as the sample. Result:The study shows that in seven years period (2001–2007), skilled health providers (doctors and midwives) are commonly reported as the source of antenatal care. The result showed bivariate analysis from type of residence (urban/rural) toward the islands, maternal education, maternal age group, ownership of health insurance, and the socioeconomic played a role in the selection of delivery attendant. Recommendation:Developing cross sectoral cooperation to improve people’s lives as well as improved access to health services in rural areas should be very beneficial to the community.

Background: Health care is one of the workplaces with a higher risk of TB than the general population. This study aims to analyze pulmonary TB on PHC workers in six districts/cities in Indonesia.Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted, involving 509 workers, in 50 health centers (PHC referral microscopic and PHC self- executing) of 6 districts/cities of 3 provinces. Data pulmonary tuberculosis in the last 12 months based on diagnose by health professionals was collected. Sputum specimen examination conducted in the laboratory Primary Health Center and confirmed with two referent laboratories. Results: Two of the 509 respondents (0.39%) had been diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis by health workers since 12 months ago and one of them is still in the treatment of tuberculosis. All respondents have no active pulmonary tuberculosis (smear negative results). The relationship of the disease and work can not be ruled out. Conclusion:Workers PHC potentially infected by pulmonary tuberculosis. Increased knowledge about TB transmission and prevention needs to be given to the health center workers.
